This review comes a couple of years late but as the saying goes...better late than never. I had braces back when I was a pimple faced teenager however being the lazy man I became, I didn't heed the advice of my original orthodontist and put on my retainer at nights. 10 years later, my top and bottom teeth had begun to shift and that's when Dr. Ghaffari came to the rescue by recommending Invisalign. As promised, about 6 months later my teeth were right back to where they belonged and I owe it all to this man and his team. I might still be pimpled faced but at least I have a nice smile to distract from the Imperfections of my face PS: I wasn't a kid and I loved the fun atmosphere and especially arcade games, so I can only imagine how perfect of a place it is for them, especially when they go all out decorating it for Halloween and the holidays. read more

Dr. Ghaffari was likely the 7th orthodontist saw in NoVa before I chose him for my orthodontic treatment. I was supposed to have braces as a teen, but my family could never afford it. In my mid-20's I decided to bit the bullet and finally have my bite corrected. Unfortunately I was told by 4 of the orthodontists I saw that I needed to have corrective jaw surgery and the other two wanted to pull teeth. When I sat down in Dr. Ghaffari's chair for a consultation I announced that I needed jaw surgery and I wanted to know what his treatment plan would be. He stunned me by saying that not only did I not need jaw surgery, but I also didn't need to have teeth pulled. Since then, he has devised an intricate treatment plan and revised it once after I came in begging to have an appliance removed. He has fit me in on a last minute notice, three times and his staff are the tops! Shirley, the wonderful Irish receptionist is so accommodating, remembers everyone's name who walks in the door and is a pleasure to work with. Just about all the assistants have had orthodontic treatment as adults, and are full of tips and tricks. The office is definitely geared for young kids. There's a Wii, arcade games and lots of over sized novelty statues. The kids there seem to have fun in the office playing while they wait for their turn. As an adult patient, the décor isn't all that important. I can't recommend this team highly enough! read more

I'm a business owner myself and hold very high standards for service. Ashkan is 110% a fantastic orthodontist and great guy! I've been dealing with them for over 3 years and the level of expertise and caring for clients, is unbelievable. If you have kids as I do, or teenagers, this is your place. It's especially tailored to kids and just as much "fun" for adults. I say that because I'm not a dentist fan. My son actually loves going there because of the wonderful staff and Ashkan himself. If I could give 6 stars, I'd ask for 7. Do yourself a favor and check into their practice. You'll 110% find it as pleasing as I do. I have been with the practices of Dr. Ghaffari's team for a very long time, and while Dr. Ghaffari is a new addition to the team, I would say by far he is an excellent addition! Dr. Thomas was my orthodontist for many years, he was a great man and was there for me and my family throughout all the hard times, but after his passing there were some big shoes to fill. Dr. Ghaffari is doing an outstanding job, and has given me new hope in my orthodontic treatment. Teeth I had previously given up on, Dr. Ghaffari came at them with some new tactics and was able to do things that I didn't think were possible! A tooth that we previously thought was enclosed and unable to move, Dr. Ghaffari decided to give a different idea, and now it's where it's supposed to be and I can't believe it! I owe my smile to Dr. Ghaffari, better yet I owe my life to Dr. Ghffari. He is one of the most patient, understanding, and helpful doctors I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. When I got my braces off with Dr. Ghaffari I was almost disappointed, not really, that I would not be able to go back to the office on a regular basis. His office is immaculate! Everything is well organized and clean. His office never gets boring either because he always decorates for the different season and holidays throughout the year. For the younger ones, there are games and toys to play with. Each and ever one of his staff members is highly experienced and knowledgeable at what they do. Above all, they are some of the nicest people I have had the opportunity of meeting. I previously had braces throughout middle school and high school for a total of three years with Dr Garai down the street. After three years with him my teeth were good enough and I got my braces taken off while I really didn't feel like he finished the job... Jump forward three years after initially taking off my braces with Dr. Garai and I find myself in Dr. Ghaffari's office. He took his time with me and was patient until my teeth were not just good enough, but perfect! He has many different types of treatments from traditional braces to Invisalign and can fix any mouth! All in all there are not enough words to describe how much I appreciate the dedication, time, and effort Dr. Ghaffari put towards my teeth and for giving me a reason to smile again. I just had my first visit with Dr Ghaffari. I am truly impressed by his honesty. I was referred to him by my dentist for 'malocclusion' because I was told I needed Invisalign or I would lose my teeth by the time I got older. Dr Ghaffari assured me that although I could use Invisalign for cosmetic purposes, that I had no medical need for it. Dr. Ghaffari's office the first and only orthodontist's office we've ever worked with. They have set quite a high bar for service standards. I always enjoyed working with the staff to get answers to billing questions. And Dr. Ghaffari himself took time to explain exactly what procedures he'd be doing, along with x-ray photos of my daughter's mouth and other pictures to help me visualize what he planned to do. My daughter never experienced major pain from the procedures, and I felt that the office was gentle as well as precise with their work. I was recently in the hunt for a qualified orthodontist as I needed to get braces to correct my British-like teeth. I decided to do a Google search for orthodontists in the Northern Virginia area. Quickly, I found Ghaffari Orthodontics and I was extremely impressed with the reviews and Dr. Ghaffari's credentials. I couldn't believe that Dr. Ghaffari went to Duke University to study Biomedical and Electrical Engineering right out of High School. And after graduating Duke with an extremely high GPA, Dr. Ghaffari went to the Medical College of Virginia for both his Masters in Orthodontics and Doctor of Dental Surgery. While at those schools, he was a member of a plethora of honor society's and dental committees. Based on the multitude of 5-star reviews and these academic credentials, I decided to use Ghaffari Orthodontics. I contacted Dr. Ghaffari's office and within the week, had my appointment. During the initial consultation, he gave me a bonanza of treatment options from standard braces to Invisalign. I told him as a 33 year old, I was worried about the correction timeline. Based on my concerns, Dr. Ghaffari recommended standard, indirect bonded braces. The next week when I got my braces on I was flabbergasted at the speed and preciseness of the treatment. Dr. Ghaffari uses a technique to place braces known as indirect bonding. Rather than being placed directly in the mouth, Dr. Ghaffari's dental assistant mounted the brackets in the precise location on my personal treatment model. A special tray was fabricated to transfer the brackets to my teeth in the same precise location. It's incredibly hard to believe, but I was in and out of his office within 2 hours. During the expedited treatment, I was mesmerized by the modern medical equipment and his new orthodontic techniques that he uses and had throughout his office. He and his staff are of the utmost professional and his office sets a unique aura for unparalleled orthodontic work, especially for kids. The office is littered with video games and free prizes throughout. Even though my braces are not off yet, Dr. Ghaffari has assured me that my treatment will be over by the end of summer.
