Four of us went to Bluegrass Brunch and loved it. This is a great place to take family or out of town guests. Service is very friendly and mellow. The whole vibe was so soothing and lovely for a Sunday brunch. We found the staff all to be very welcoming and warm. The venue is spacious and comfortable. There are family photos from the Garcia family, vintage movie posters and very cool light fixtures. Not a single bad seat and space for dancing if you're so moved. The sound quality was fantastic. This is high end a very well designed live music venue and unless you're way down in front, you can also hear your friends speaking normally! Two of us commented on how relaxing brunch here was because we weren't all talk/screaming! Generally feels like its run by people who know what they are doing and truly care about live music and food. Our first round of Bloodys and mimosas was on the house via these little tokens you get on your way in. For brunch, our table had the breakfast burrito, clown alley smashburger, the chicken and waffles and the huevos fritos. Portions were ample, and the flavors were quite good, but it was the chicken and waffles that was exceptional: great coating, crispy, seasoned and savory, moist chicken with fluffy waffles. My husband bought tickets early, so we ended up with the best seats in the house--centered on the raised section facing the stage. The tables are set up for four, so if you attend as a couple, plan on sharing your table with two other guests. The room is large and beautiful, enhanced by colorful lighting and graphics. A spacious bar flanks the back wall near the entrance. The bathrooms were clean, but be prepared--everything is black, so it's quite dark inside. We arrived early to enjoy dinner before the show. Garcia's menu offers plenty of tempting options. Our server was friendly and efficient. I ordered the coconut lime shrimp (served with grits), and it was both delicious and generously portioned. We shared a beautifully presented house salad. My husband chose the golden chicken sandwich and said it was moist and flavorful. On our server's recommendation, we tried the zucchini croquetas. Unfortunately, they were the only miss of the evening, as they were a bit gummy. The show began promptly at 7:00 p.m., and the band was excellent. My only critique is that, as a classic country fan, I found the playlist leaned heavily toward newer country hits. One small seating note: having center seats along the railing with heavy chairs positioned parallel to the stage meant we had to twist our necks to watch the performance. It wasn't a major issue, but it was slightly uncomfortable. Overall, Garcia's is a wonderful spot to enjoy live music, good food, and a drink. I highly recommend it. Wow! Leftover Salmon's music--they call it "Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass"--left us all wanting more after last night's nearly three-hour concert. We were close enough to count the change in Drew Emmitt's pocket but it was Andy Thorn's virtuosic banjo playing that had our mouths hanging open. Good service including never-empty water bottles; much appreciated. read more

This used to be Wishbone!! Now a music lounge and venue, I do like the revamp look. Think a big speakeasy that can still intimidate within a big space. QR and physical menus. I didn't get a chance to order food but the couple of drinks I had were good: Tiger Mule & Mission in the Rain. Definitely try those! The show I was at was popular so customer service was good, though slow at times. You can pay your own bill through the QR or with the Server. The prices were typical for the area and would suggest getting a Uber/Lyft. This venue being so close to Fulton Market and other places, makes this a perfect place to pregame with a show here or pregame and have a dinner with a show. read more

I was asked to run the merch table for an artist this past weekend at Garcia's. I didn't know what to expect when walking into the venue but it was better than what I could have imagined. Garcia's is such an intimate venue where the attendees really get an up close and personal show. I believe the capacity is around 300-350 individuals with lots of seating right in front of the stage and standing room off to the side which was deemed general admission for this show. I wanted to extend a huge thank you to Erin Burks for being super attentive of my needs during my two days of being a merch seller. She would check in periodically (fill my water bottle, ask if I wanted to order food, drinks, providing a charger and hangers for the table, etc...). I rarely had to seek her out, she was always around when I needed something. I was really grateful she was there! That being said, the rest of the team at Garcia's was just really warm and welcoming. AJ did amazing with the lights for the band/stage/artist that first night (Friday), there were lots of compliments on her work from attendees and a photographer that was there. The FOOD! The food was really good. The first night I had JERRY'S ROAST BEEF SANDWICH and LEMON ROSEMARY FRIES. This was recommended to me by Toma (security) and this was a great recommendation because it pushed me to order something out of my comfort zone. I have never had prime rib sandwich with a dip. Would definitely get this again. My second night I got the HUSH PUPPIES with honey butter (wish there was more honey but otherwise good!), MINI MISSION STREET DOGS (when they say mini, they are, but they are packed with toppings and flavor - we ordered more later on), THE GOLDEN CHICKEN SANDWICH (they say you can specify grilled or fried, I don't think I specified so it came grilled? But nonetheless it was amazing. I am not a huge pickle fan and I had originally picked them off but took a bite of one to see and WOOOOWEEEEE they packed some spice and flavor, I ate all the pickles). All in all, Garcia's was such a wonderful experience. IF you are hesitant, don't be, I would definitely recommend coming and having that intimate show experience here. read more

Some friends and I went to go see Elijah Fox show at Garcia's. The venue was absolutely amazing. It was nice and cozy. Our friends got a five top private booth, which I highly recommend it was cozy and comfortable, and we had a great view of the stage. The venue is quite small so the music is extremely loud, but you start to adapt after the first five minutes. The food was pretty average. We ordered some chips and sour cream and onion dip as well as a few drink drinks and we split a Keylime milkshake. I do wish the milkshake was thicker, but it does feel like it was melted a little bit. I also ordered an espresso martini, but it wasn't good however, I did finish it. Even the Diet Coke was flat, but I'm not sure if the night was just super busy but there's definitely some room for improvement with the food. The service was pretty slow, again I suspect because it was pretty busy and our server may have had a lot of tables. The show itself was pretty great. They even put on an encore song. This is a great date night or time out with friends or family. I just wouldn't come for the food, but it's good for drinks as my friends enjoyed their beverages read more

What a venue!! Not a bad spot in the house. Lots of staffing - several valets street parking as well but for $20 it's worth the curb service. Hush puppies no words. Not cheap - but appropriate portions. And the concert tickets aren't bad. So support the house! read more

The first time I saw a concert by Grace Potter. She's amazing but didn't make up for the weird vibe in the place. So I went back a second time and saw jazz sax player Frank Catalano. Who I know personally. Couldn't get close enough to even say hello to him. Huge bar, but with no seats. Huge standing area in the back by the bar facing the stage, also no barstools. Not even hooks underneath to hang your coat or purse while you're standing there for three hours watching the concert. The vibe of the place is just off. It's so weird to have a big beautiful bar that you can't sit at. And it's not because it's overly crowded. A friend of mine, who had had a heart transplant could not stand that long so they did let us sit at a side table. So the next time I was there, I asked if I could sit at the side table because I'm a senior. They said sure, any of them that don't have a reserve sign on them. They all had a reserve sign on them and half of them never had anyone seated at them for the entire night. First time there we had some snacks, I believe it was potato chips, it took 45 minutes to get them. read more

I was a guest with my boyfriend's band that played last night, Sneezy, and of the hundreds of venues I've attended as an artist guest, this one by far has been the best. Shoutout to Sam with artist hospitality- he provided quick, effective, friendly service and treated all of us with the same respect as the artists. Fantastic service and amazing ambience. Came to Garcia's on Mother's Day to see ARTEMIS. The music was great, but I left feeling completely taken advantage of. I ordered two plain margaritas--nothing fancy--and was never told the price. The server had to check with the bartender, came back and said they could make them. That was it. No mention that they would cost $29 each. I found the receipt days later and was shocked--$58 for two basic margaritas? That's outrageous. If I had been told the price, I wouldn't have ordered them. This kind of non-transparent upselling feels dishonest and left a bad impression. Really disappointing. read more

Firstly Craig in the box office was very helpful when we had to switch nights. Jerry's Middle Finger was our first show here. Vibe was felt immediately upon entering. The seating was very comfortable and service "Marisha" was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious. Smash burgers were gourmet. Drinks were creative and meant business. First time here. Show: The Heavyweights on 2/14. The doors opened late, which meant an extended wait in the cold. Once inside, I appreciated the coat hooks in the general admission standing room only area. Placed an order for wings and lemon rosemary fries. Was initially told there was one last order of wings available and that there was no lemon rosemary seasoning for the fries (I agreed to the fries without the seasoning). No discount given. Minutes later, someone came out from the kitchen to let me know that there were indeed no wings remaining for the evening. I noticed that most other customers were dining on hamburgers. So I guess the food shortage was not just in GA. My daughter had a smash burger which she enjoyed. Overall, I like the venue and will return. Hopefully, the full menu is available next time. read more

Ordered a drink at the beginning of the show and it took about 45 min for it to finally arrive. . . And then in a plastic cup. Lights are shining bright in the audiences eyes throughout the show. Why?!?!?! Took forever to find waitress to close out check shyly the end. And spent over $100 per seat for a 65 min concert. Not on our list of places to return to. read more

I've always enjoyed coming to here, but I recently had an experience that really needs attention. During my last visit, my friends and I were seated at Booth 4. It looks just like the U-shaped booths (2 and 3), but it's actually shaped like a J with no seating on one side. Because it's extremely dark in that area, we went to sit where we assumed the bench continue and all three of us fell (at diff points in the night). I hit the table on the way down and ended up with a pretty nasty bruise on my arm. My full $20 Mission drink shot up like a geyser and spilled all over me and my friend. After talking to a few of other people, I learned that the exact same thing has happened to them at Booth 4 too, which tells me this isn't an isolated incident. I emailed the venue about adding a little lighting or even a small sign on that booth to prevent future accidents, but I haven't received a response. I truly do love this place! The music, the vibe, the energy, but Booth 4 is a safety hazard as it's currently set up. I really hope management addresses this so no one else gets hurt or drenched in a $20 cocktail. UPDATED to add they have added signs to the booths! Yay, hope this saves someone from a fall in the future. read more

I was here last night for the excellent Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Great band, nice venue with decent service. Things that might help you: - the tables on the floor (not the booths) seat four people. There's a row of tables immediately in front of the stage that's separated by an aisle from another row of tables. The third row (and following rows) of tables is elevated. All of that is to say that table position matters if you're with a group because two tables that are adjacent on the Ticketmaster map might be on different levels. GA is elevated yet again. - that elevation means there's no obstruction. Yaaay!! I'd definitely recommend the more central tables than the tables on the edge. Table 43 would be my sweet spot for the best view, but that's just my opinion. - drinks are spendy, service is way slow. - the staff was friendly although you apparently had to look a certain way for one of the two honchos to stop by your table. (That wasn't a great vibe.) - the person checking IDs at the door was incredibly welcoming and friendly on both the way in and out. She's a gem. Professional without sacrificing friendliness. Go her!! - For a Friday night in the West Loop, metered street parking was surprisingly a non-issue. They also have valet. I appreciate the vibe, for the most part, and will give Garcia's another go next month with the Headhunters. read more
