Great place! I love when you go into a restaurant not really knowing anything about it. A couple a friends had it on their lists so we took an opportunity to go for a friends bday. What surprised me was the size. A good amount of space and you can section it off as them having 3 different vibes. When you enter you see the bar setting, walk into the next area and it has more of a cabana theme with the lights and couch seating. And at the end it seemed to give you more of a private, romantic aesthetic. We sat in the cabana area and we all loved it. Our server was amazing! The food was very nice. Definitely recommend the beef tenderloin. We had a couple of the shareables and I will say, I love oysters and have had them at many restaurants. These were a little small in comparison but otherwise good.

Volo Bar is such a gem. The service was excellent, and the happy hour menu is fantastic. I had the $1 oysters and a red wine on draft--great quality and a really nice variety to choose from. The space itself is adorable and cozy, with a sophisticated charm that honestly reminded me of being in Italy, like a tucked-away corner bar you just stumble upon. Our server, Austin, was amazing--super attentive, friendly, and fun, which made the experience even better. Definitely ask to sit in the cabana area if you can--it's absolutely beautiful. This spot is perfect for a girls' night or a date night since it feels intimate and special. One thing to note: reservations are timed, which I didn't realize beforehand, so that part was a little awkward while catching up with friends. Overall, I loved it and can't wait to go back.

Came here for a Friday happy hour for the $1 oysters! My bf had the Cabernet which is not my fav not a fan of red wine. It was $19 a glass and I had the aviation spritz which was ok I would rate 3/5. I thought there would be more flavoring of the cherry but in the picture it was pretty much clear. The glass is also much smaller than the wine glass I did not realize that when looking at other pictures. Just a heads up. We had 3 dozen oysters which were delicious and their cocktail sauce had the perfect amount of horseradish. The oysters were good and they were a $1 which is an amazing steal. One thing I wish they kept was the liquor from the oysters but the way they were plated there was none. We also had the bmg flatbread which was pretty good and simple a little on the smaller portion side 4/5. Lastly we had the bone marrow which was decadent and tasted like kbbq and the chips were pretty delicious as well. 4.5/5. The service was ok we would've loved a more consistent service as their hosts are also the food runners. This has nothing to do with the actual servers just something we noticed that the restaurant does differently than what we've experienced before. This place is definitely smaller portions so if you like a hefty portion to be full and have leftovers this may not be the place for you. But if you like talking catching up over $7 spritz and oysters this place is great. Small intimate setting and I didn't go into the secret patio but it looked pretty cute.

This place has been on my list for a while now and it's absolutely so cute. There's a patio for summer or winter but you need to reserve early if you would like to be seated there for happy hour. Their happy hour menu is really good. Only $7 spritz menu and we got their happy oysters which was good, but some were a little better than others. The bone marrow was alright, wished it came with bread rather than hard chips. This restaurant is so cute and definitely need to come back for their patio season. The service was good, but I know they are busy but water was not refilled at all which they need to be more attentive I wished the did, I saw other tables had refill bottles but ours didn't get any. This is one of the service I look forward to especially when dining.

Volo is such a cute spot -- the decor is charming and definitely Instagram-worthy. The service was wonderful, with attentive and friendly staff that made us feel very welcome. We came during happy hour and really enjoyed the cocktails. I had the Aviation Spritz, a gorgeous purple drink that was as tasty as it was photogenic, followed by the sangria, which was delicious. The food, however, was just okay. We ordered several shareable plates, but the portions were on the smaller side -- really only enough for two people to share comfortably. It would've been nice if the serving sizes were a bit more generous. But we did order multiple of them so it wasn't bad. My favorite plate was probably the beets and green salad. Overall, a lovely atmosphere with great drinks and service, but the food portions could be improved.

Volo is a very cute wine bar tucked into Roscoe Street. They have a great happy hour deal between 4PM-6PM which is when you'll see the restaurant packed. We came in early for our 5:30 PM reservation and needed to wait due to it being a packed house. Unfortunately we were seated late by 15-20 minutes as our table in the back patio wasn't ready. Once we were seated we had great service and wonderful food. You can choose to eat either large plates or small plates. We ordered a selection of foods and drinks and all were tasty. Roasted bone marrow (3.5/5): One bone marrow was good and thick and the other two were super tiny Oysters (5/5): Classic and on ice with plenty of sauce Cheese Board (5/5): Good heaping amount of jam and crackers to pair with the cheeses Heirloom Tomato Salad (5/5): We fought over these, incredibly flavorful Olives (4/5): Nice and plentiful Salted Caramel Mousse Dessert (5/5): We also fought over this, very light but rich. Will be dreaming about this. FYI--The hostess stand is weirdly in the middle of the restaurant, we almost flew by it when we first came in.

How rare to still find $1 oyster. We came for HH right before the Cubs game for a quick snack and the oysters were pumped! Ordered 2 does an amongst my husband and myself and we killed that up real quick. Their in house sauce was amazing too. They had other HH menu items and I would be nice to see more options included too but overall cute spot for a date and also to get your oyster fix.

We came to Volo Wine Bar for happy hour and it did not disappoint! They had great deals on both food and drinks, which made it the perfect spot for a girls' night out to catch up. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the covered patio added such a charming touch--ideal for relaxing and chatting in comfort. Service was quick and super friendly from start to finish. I did run into a small issue with my food, but the staff handled it so professionally and quickly made it right. They even offered me a complimentary drink, which was such a thoughtful gesture. All in all, we had a wonderful time and I'd definitely recommend this spot. $1 oysters | $2 lemoncello shots | $6 wine + more!!!

So I've been wanting to go here for probably five years after I heard that it had one of the best patios in Chicago. However, that patio was very hard to get a reservation on, so I sat inside instead for happy hour. The service was pretty slow and I know that they were really busy because there was a street festival, but it took a really long time. The actual cocktails that we tried were decent overall and the food was fine? I probably wouldn't go back unless I could specifically sit on the patio with. It does seem like a nice place to have a glass of wine or go on a date but again I was a bit letdown. I would give it another shot though.

Volo Wine Bar is truly such a hidden gem and one of my new favorite spots in Chicago! Their cozy, intimate patio is actually unreal -- I'd go back for that alone, and the food and wine/cocktail lineup is also just as amazing. The staff are great too. Their Happy Hour is one of the best I've found too: $1 oysters, $6 wine, and $8 sangria (Tuesday-Saturday, 4-6pm). Plus, they're currently celebrating their 20-year anniversary right now with 20% off all champagne, which is such a great bonus. Highly recommend checking this place out -- you won't want to miss this one!

Atmosphere was on point! Happy hour was on point. The only thing is their cheese board was awful! The cheese was hard and was clearly left out for a while. The cheese also had a piece of paper which looked like mold. Nonetheless, will be back. Just skipping the cheese board going forward.

Amazing happy hour oysters and wine!

Very nice happy hour! Dollar oysters and $6 glass of house wine! Both were great! Stayed for a while And the server was so nice and attentive whole time. I'm still impressed with how great their house wine was! Plenty of outdoor seating also which is nice when weather permitting. Nice date spot or a night out with friends!

Has anyone hosted a wedding here? How was the food? Was if enough? Everything seems to be small bites and my fear is my guests will be left hungry. Thoughts? Thanks!

The ambiance is really nice without feeling too "stuffy". Bar was gorgeous and service was friendly and helpful, allowing my boyfriend to sample some wines before going in on some bottles. Prices were what you'd expect for a trendy natural wine bar. The complimentary corn nuts in the antique dish were a cute touch. The charcuterie board with mixed meat and cheese was really small though. Only three pieces of cheese for five people... it made it feel like an awkward fight over who'd get to try some. The gluten free crackers were appreciated though. We ended up ordering more food including the "party tray" which I would describe more as charcuterie nachos. We didn't really know what to expect with this one so we got the canned mussels but it really would've tasted better with the prosciutto instead. It included a whipped cheese, olives, and cornichons piled onto potato chips. Less of a tray and more of a nacho-style dish. If we return next time we're in town, I'd skip the food and focus more on the wine. Beyond that, it was a fun time!
