I contacted 3 of them and received quotes, including one that advertises extensively as being experts in outdoor spaces. I still had reservations and got two more quotes, including one from CREX construction. Anthony with CREX came out and met with me to discuss materials and discuss the project and asked enough questions so that the entire project would be well thought out. His follow up with the design work, dropping off extra samples, and communication was head and shoulders above the others so I went with CREX. What WASN'T head and shoulders above the rest was the price- CREX was right in line with the market and the other four quotes. I've owned a home for 30 years and have worked with dozens of contractors and various projects. Anthony wasn't just a face for the business to get signed bids up front and then disappear only to send in inexpensive and inexperienced workers. Anthony was there onsite with his foreman, Juan, and they both did an amazing job! Every board cut and every detail was precise and exactly as I had hoped. I was very impressed with CREX.

During the process of a DIY installation on some railing for my son's home, I damaged a concrete patio (hey, it's my first DIY railing install!) and we had to find a contractor that would be able to fix the area quickly so we could proceed. The idea was to extend the existing pad to cover our misdeeds and match the existing exposed aggregate as much as possible. I contacted Brandon, thinking I was probably looking at a week or so until he could get over to evaluate the job but he was there within hours. (He had other jobs, but lives close by so that getting to our site was, thankfully, convenient.). He quickly assessed the job and, based on his initial quote, we also decided to have him bid a small 14x16 concrete pad on which we wanted to place a gazebo/pavilion. Both prices were extremely reasonable, in our experience. During the process, we were discussing site prep and he volunteered to bring his excavator--he has one of those as well as, from what I can tell, any equipment needed to handle residential and probably larger jobs--to clear the entire yard and haul away some pretty gnarly grass (mostly moss) to the landfill for a very reasonable fee. Oh, and we had him give the gazebo a nice stamped edge for good measure. All-told Brandon took care of - Grass removal and haul-away - General yard leveling (in Seattle rain), including in an area we put in a Rainbow Play System for the grandkids - Site prep - Forming and drilled/epoxied rebar into existing concrete - Forming and grading for the pad (which had a really significant drop off and large fill in spots Brandon was always extremely responsive about changes we wished to make or questions we had. He's always friendly and generally gets back to you about your question in an hour or less. (That's not a promise but it's my experience.) I had recently used a different concrete contractor for a long (90') retaining wall and while the work was pretty good--not perfect--their poor communication led to some significant cost and time overruns, which highlighted for me how much easier it was to work with Brandon. I'd highly recommend Brandon as a concrete contractor and he'll probably be the person I contact when it's time to re-do my driveway in a few years. (I'll try to re-edit this review and add photos when I get a chance but the work is similar to those already posted by others.)

The doors we purchased were a quarter inch too wide, so they needed to be trimmed to fit our frames properly. Juan was the first to respond to my Yelp request and provided a very fair quote. His team arrived early just two days later and completed the entire project in just a few hours, delivering excellent results. We are extremely happy with their work and would gladly recommend them to our friends.

We hired Juan about a month ago for a shower remodel. Overall, the work is ok, but definitely not…read moreprofessional quality and left a lot to be desired. The good: -competitively priced, one of the cheaper quotes we received -good quality materials: porcelain tile slabs -frequent communication -finished product seems to be functionally ok, for now -we had a toilet leak during the construction period, Juan reseated the toilet properly and fixed the leak promptly, this was much appreciated. The bad The work was overall sloppy, in many regards. First and foremost, after Juan installed the valve and plumbing, they caused a small leak into our living room below during water testing. This required them to open up the ceiling downstairs, dry it out, and patch up the drywall and repaint (see pictures below). This honestly freaked me out and increased my vigilance throughout the project. During shower door installation, they cracked one of the slabs requiring it to be replaced. This was fine, but the waterproofing patch job looked uneven and thin, but they did come out and re-coat it after I brought this up. The shower door hinges were poorly installed initially. The screws were not countersunk and sticking out; I even confirmed with the shower door manufacturer that this was not correct. We had a lot of back and forth about this; Juan eventually replaced the screws with ones that fit more properly. Wall edge at the end of the shower looks very uneven, and the caulking has cracked and the wall on the tub side even has a hole in it at the transition. On the last day, I asked them to replace the shower arm to raise our showerhead, as it was low; I purchased a gooseneck from Lowe's myself, but Juan initially told me "you can do it yourself" however because they already installed a standard shower arm. He did end up putting it in at the end but it was installed improperly; it was crooked, so I decided to replace it myself afterwards as I was already quite stressed with this project already and this was a simple fix. After taking the shower arm off, I found no teflon tape on the threads, but instead a thin layer of some kind of goo. I'm not a plumber, but teflon tape is generally recommended to seal the threads. I cleaned the threads off and installed the shower arm with properly applied teflon tape with a thin layer of pipe dope. At least the copper elbow in the wall felt solid. Overall, the wet area seems ok, we're not having any leaks (so far), and the shower is functional; however, I felt the project was rushed, communication, while frequent, was poor, and the end product is just sloppy. In the end I was told "I worry too much about everything." I'll post the pictures of the areas of concern and you can judge for yourself. We saved a few thousand dollars, but in hindsight, I wish I hired someone else and saved myself a lot of stress.

Michael, our project manager, was equally kind and professional, making sure everyone was on the same page before the work began. They were incredibly efficient and even incorporated some retaining wall blocks we had purchased the year before. In just 7.5 days, they completely transformed the space and truly blew us away.
