Great location! Small, older hotel. Quiet area. Our time only allowed for a one night stay. We felt very safe staying here. (Just my teen daughter and myself). We arrived about 2 hours earlier than check in, the front desk staff was very accommodating and found us a room that was available to check in at that time. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Amazing water pressure in the shower! Apartment size (definitely larger than the regular mini fridge in most hotels) refrigerator/freezer and microwave. All rooms are ocean front with balconies. Pool area is nice and roomy. The space could use a few more pool chairs and maybe another shaded area. The mini mart attached to the hotel was also conveniently located for snacks and beer! Huge Thank you to LunchBox (front desk staff member) for being so helpful and friendly!

This place is nearly as old as the beach itself, but for location and price, it's hard not to consider. Fair warning: no elevator. Nope, nadda. The owner's are renovating rooms which are needed. At first glance the facelift looks nice; however, when viewed more critically, it's more like they bought a medical tourism procedure somewhere south of here. Wrinkles, cracks, and leaks already starting to reappear. In other words, it won't last. But, my bed was firm and comfy! The parking and pool areas are nice and refreshed, as is the painting of the building. All structures this close to the surf are abused relentlessly by the elements, so it's tough not to notice. All in all a decent value, but not your upscale spa-like beach retreat.

This hotel is being updated and we stayed in an updated 4th floor room with balcony. No elevator, but the view was worth the stairs. Room was clean and staff was very friendly. Would go back in a minute.

This hotel has mold in the rooms. We discovered it on the walls and lampshade. It is also extremely run down.

Inlet sports lodge was a deal and close by so it worked out well. The best idea I had was to also make a reservation at Costa which is their onsite restaurant. You don't need to worry about drinking and the dinner was phenomenal (separate review for Costa coming soon). While I was only there a short time, I could really see that this one off hotel is a great stay. The lady who checked me in was super helpful and got us everything we needed. They sell snacks and alcoholic beverages at the front desk and you can even get 6 packs or bottles of wine. We only had about an hour after the lights to check in and get to dinner so we quickly went to the room and got settled. The first thing you notice is the big wooden doors to the room that look hand carved. The rooms are really spacious and have a full kitchen setup and living room area with a pull out couch too. We missed breakfast, but they do offer something downstairs. We did go up to check out the widows walk on the roof though which would be great to have drinks at the end of the day in the summer. You can see the pool from up there (which we also didn't use because it was december) and it was small but nice. Some of the upgrades seemed out of place, but not in a bad way. More like someone who had a lot of money created this place, but had never built a hotel before so they put money into it in some strange ways. Things like the wooden carved doors, extra shower sprayers, and vessel sinks in the bathroom don't exactly make sense for an affordable stay spot, but are a welcome additions anyway. I can't wait to come back for a longer stay and hopefully warmer weather.

Just across the street from Murrells Inlet marsh area. Convinient to lots of things in the area, yet apart from the hustle, bustle and noise. I stayed there at the beginning of Bike Week and had no noise issues. It's not high end, but WELL maintained with upgrades that maintain it's historic charm. Very CLEAN rooms. Prices are competitive, but very reasonable. Saved me some serious cash at an expensive time of the year. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The only drawbacks for me were: 1) that pets are not allowed, but that is great in other ways. 2) for Breakfast you'll need to get in the car or bring in something microwaveable - not really a problem, but something to be aware of. I stayed in one of the motor court rooms that had a little breakfast nook in back with the refrigerator, microwave and table & chair. Don't listen to the 1 star reviews that state it's not safe or put down the furnishings. The furniture is not old and rickety, but in excellent condition and in keeping with the era of the place. I felt VERY safe here as a woman travelling alone and who has put up with some sketchy places before. This isn't one of those at all. I will certainly be staying here when I return to the area.

The rooms are definately outdated, the beds are not comfortable at all. There was sand on the floor so housekeeping did not finish cleaning before we arrived. Otherwise the bathroom and overallsize of the room was nice. The hotel does have 2 pools, and a beachside bar. They occassionally have live music playing. There was someone there this weekend. We didn't really go in the pools though. The best part of the whole weekend was of course being oceanfront. It was teally nice to hear the waves while sleeping and waking up. We were also right next to the ramp to walk up to the beach , so that was perfect. The TV was a decent size as well. We had breakfast included with the room we got, it was not good at all. The eggs , grits, and potatoes were all bland. But if you like bland hotel breakfast then get that for sure. We only woke up once for it. They have lots of parking, we had no issue finding a spot the whole weekend even when we went out. We ate at the restaurant there both for lunch and dinner. Both were really good, for the lunch spot you can sit by the beach which is awesome. This was our second time eating for lunch here. I got a turkey melt, my husband got the grouper sandwich. The turkey melt bread was delicious and so were the fries. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well. The dinner at Tide To Table was amazing. I'll write that seperate. We were mainly there to enjoy a weekend on the beach, which we got to do. It's the only beachfront hotel in town. You are paying for the beach. We would come back again just to be by the beach.

Absolutely Disgusting and Unsafe -- Do Not Stay Here…read more This was one of the worst hotel stays we've ever experienced, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property. We were initially given a loft-style room on the 5th floor without warning -- something that was not mentioned during booking. With stairs inside the room and mobility concerns, we immediately asked to be moved. While waiting for the new room, I noticed how filthy everything was: stained carpets, a moldy refrigerator/freezer, dirty furniture -- so bad that the only thing we felt safe sitting on was the desk chair. We were moved to Room 103 on the first floor -- and things got worse. Here's what we dealt with: The bathroom was dysfunctional: The door opened directly into the toilet, making it hard to move around. There was no toilet paper holder -- not in our room or in the lobby bathroom. We were simply given loose rolls. The shower had only scalding hot water and was unusable. The faucet's piping was exposed. An exhaust fan existed but had no switch, so it didn't operate. The bathroom and ceiling had obvious, poor-quality repairs. The pull-out sofa bed was covered in feces. When we called the front desk, they handed us cleaning supplies, gloves, and a rag and expected us to clean it ourselves. Under the mattress we found pink goo, a February 2023 lottery ticket, and a used condom wrapper -- proof the bed hadn't been cleaned in over a year. Security was a serious concern: The front door's security lock was broken -- it spun uselessly. The rear entrance door barely closed and could be pushed open, even though our room was near it. The windows had no curtains, just thin sheers. Being on the first floor, people could easily see into our room from outside -- we confirmed this by walking around the building and peering through the dying, sparse bushes. When we raised this with management, they simply said "the shrubs should cover it." Housekeeping and service were shockingly poor: You only get towels for the exact number of guests, and when asking for more, the front desk staff rolled their eyes or acted like it was an inconvenience. You had to bring your dirty towels down each time to get replacements. No staff wore uniforms or name tags, making it impossible to know who worked there -- likely to avoid accountability. One breakfast worker even wore a Cracker Barrel apron with the name "Gayle," which obviously didn't match the hotel. The indoor pool was frigid cold, while the pool room felt like it was 90+ degrees. We were told the heater was "as high as it could go," and nothing could be done. The breakfast area was disgusting -- torn upholstery, exposed foam, dirty carpets, and unplugged A/C units. The breakfast itself was very limited: yogurt, sugary cereals, heat-and-serve sausage and egg patties, and a waffle maker. I have gluten intolerance, and even after avoiding obvious sources, I got sick. It turns out the egg and sausage patties likely contain gluten-based fillers, and there were no signs, allergy warnings, or gluten-free options. Another guest confirmed they had asked and were told nothing was gluten-free. It's not safe for people with food allergies or sensitivities. The pet walking area was overgrown and full of thorns and ant hills. I had to carry my small dog through just so she could use the bathroom. This hotel was unsanitary, unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly managed. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. The physical conditions, complete lack of cleanliness, and the dangerous lack of security make it unfit for guests. Stay anywhere else.
