The only "Queen Anne" Victorian in Hannibal. We happened to be the only residents last night. Our room was comfortable and had plenty of pillows, blankets, and towels. There was a small TV. Bathroom was in the hall and small. The innkeeper is a cat lover and they were all very friendly. He is also a chef. Breakfast was amazing. Coffee was available along with juice, a yogurt parfait and a delicious frittata with eggs, cheese, potatoes and Missouri sausage. He sat with us at breakfast and shared some of the history of the town and the B & B. He clearly loves the community and the Garden Inn. Thank you for your hospitality Chris.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it! It was my first official B&B…read moreexperience, and it definitely did not disappoint. The host, Angela, was so friendly and helpful about Hannibal recommendations. The breakfast was great, and I felt like I was in a quaint cafe! The rooms were very clean and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. An absolutely beautiful stay!

I delayed on my review because I really needed to contemplate our experience…read more A very unique stay at an old mansion that has been preserved with such great detail. I was able to peek into other rooms available and there were many we wouldn't mind staying at again. We adored that each floor had a coffee table with an assortment of options. Outside of each floor was a basket of potential forgotten beauty items, such as a toothbrush or toothpaste. Always a nice touch. Downstairs had a snack and drink nook that was available at all hours. Each room had a different theme along with additional amenities, like fuzzy robes and beauty necessities. With all that being said, we only had one night away as a couple and would've loved to have enjoyed the peace and quiet, but the room next to us was rented to a younger couple with two small children. We listened to them cry about bedtime routines and were then awoken before 7am to more tears and sadness. I am well aware as a parent myself, that children are just that. Maybe the B&B should've considered renting a separate room to these guests, possibly on a different floor/adjacent space, considering we were the only two guests checked for the one evening. We were told not to worry about noise, because you couldn't hear a thing in between rooms. This was definitely not the case. We went down for breakfast at 8:30 only to be sat waiting with the young toddlers and their behavior all around the dining room. I now completely understand why other B&B's we've stayed at before have a 'no children' policy. We were expecting, from the reviews, an amazing breakfast, not two burnt pancakes with one strawberry and a handful of blueberries, served an hour past the breakfast time. Interesting stay...

New Diamond Select member with best western which is their highest tier of elite status customers…read more This property did not honor any of the status benefits... no early check in, no room upgrade, no late check out allowed, and no welcome gift of bottled water. Everyone is treated as a basic member with no benefit to brand loyalty. To add to this, an employee named Shane literally screamed angrily at all the pool customers to get out at 902pm when the pool closed at 9pm. He seemed extremely angry that there were customers staying at the hotel. Weird property to treat travelers so mean when it's such a welcoming friendly community outside it's doors. Best western corporate should keep an eye on brand management here. ------ 7/12/26 update: Apparently the rude employee mentioned in my honest review of how the property treats diamond select members is the property owner who does not handle travel reviews well, but as top tier members with several hotel brands and travelers who spend well over 100+ nights per year in hotels, i believe we are able to give well balanced reviews of hotel properties. Several other guests (perhaps around 15) were present to witness the rant that occurred of the employee/ owner closing the pool for the night 2 minutes past closing time. Since we were not in the pool and had already exited and dried off it was pretty appalling to see families and under age children be yelled at in a public hospitality setting. This is never permissible in the hospitality business. The response from the hotel going on a rant blaming us and customers for being the problem is also extremely bad PR to allow. I suspect since their location is fantastic and they are one of only a few hotels in the area that the owner has a sense of superiority over the area. We never asked to stay a 2nd night or refuse to pay for anything. Nor did we demand any late checkout... these were blatant lies from the business owner written in an attempt to minimize our review or make it it look as though we were being unreasonable. Bottom line is that hotel brands definitely need to ensure their privately owned franchise owners adhere to the standards they advertise. There are some marriott and Hilton properties within a short drive of Hannibal that offer a better experience in adhering to status recognition and not treating their customers with content for simply providing them business and revenue. FYI, yes 2 bottles of water were offered at check out after we pointed out that the property denied all status benefits for diamond select. We are sorry the owner was extremely offended that we referred to him as an employee. That does reflect however on the personality type of the individual who runs this establishment.

The hotel is showing signs of age but some rooms were under construction so it looks like they are updating some areas. The rooms open to a balcony and pool inside the building. It was quiet during our stay so no extra noise from the pool area. Our room was clean and the staff was super nice. It was a nice stay. We saw the Mississippi River when we woke up as well.
