We invested substantial labor, time, travel, accommodations, transportation, and our own money into completing these projects and addressing correction items requested by Rising Sun. Despite that, substantial completion balances were withheld or disputed. Between outstanding/disputed balances and the expenses my company incurred, the financial impact to my business has exceeded $50,000. This wasn't just one invoice or a small misunderstanding. It involved multiple projects, weeks of work, repeated trips, employees who had to be paid, and significant expenses my company covered while expecting Rising Sun to honor our agreements. What concerned me even more was hearing dissatisfaction directly from homeowners whose systems we were installing for Rising Sun. Multiple customers expressed frustration to me about their experience with the company. As the installer standing at their homes, I was put in the uncomfortable position of hearing complaints about issues that were outside of my company's control. My dealings with owner Matias Besasso, sales representative Jeremy, and manager Ben left me extremely disappointed with how these projects and our payment disputes were handled. Based on my personal experience, I would not work with this company or this team again. If you're a homeowner considering Rising Sun, I recommend researching carefully, getting everything in writing, understanding exactly who will actually be installing your system, and documenting every commitment made to you. If you're a subcontractor considering working for them, I would be extremely cautious about committing significant labor, travel expenses, or your own money without very strong written payment protections. I have retained contracts, invoices, payment records, project communications, correction requests, and expense records relating to my experience. Significant money remains disputed and unresolved. Rising Sun and Matias know how to contact me. The friendly Tech Ekolu called to ask if he could come earlier since the prior job finished earlier. He alone swapped out the water heater and had me test the faucets in the house to make sure I had hot water. He stopped by the next day after his last job late in the afternoon to check if everything was working properly. There was a very small leak on top of the tank, so removed the intake pipe and applied Teflon tape. It wasn't because of his installation work, but the manufacturer's workmanship. I would highly recommend this family's business!

No one has been on the roof since new roof was installed so while we're not sure the damaged occurred at that time of installation, logic points to it. Its a question. Also someone put roof tar on the holes to try and cover up. Sounds like a roofer would do that. Throughout the process Luis always communicated well. If traffic was heavy, he let me know he was running late BEFORE his expected arrival time. He kept me in the loop on the shipment of the shutters, the installation schedule, and all other aspects of the job. He never left me wondering what was happening or when. Every day before he left, he did a quick summary of what would happen next. It was totally different than most other contractors I've had here. I never felt forgotten. Beyond being professional in his communication, Luis is very polite, courteous, and personable. Luis was punctual and timely. He never missed a day because he was off surfing or just didn't feel like working. He showed up every day he said he would, and worked with me on days I couldn't be home, or where he had some other commitment. For anyone who's been here a while, you know how hard it can be to even get someone to show up. It was refreshing and appreciated not to have that experience with Soltren Construction. Once on site, Luis set up his equipment and got to work. Having spent years in the construction trade and two decades in the military, I can tell you the Luis knows his business. His work was meticulously thought out and performed. Most tradesmen I feel the need to watch closely so they don't cut corners and/or do shoddy work. After watching Luis do the first two windows, I felt perfectly comfortable moving on and doing my own projects while he worked. He did the work with the care and attention I imagine he uses on his own house, particularly with little details that are often overlooked. I really appreciated that. Perhaps one of the best things for me was that Luis was very neat and clean in his work and work space. He cleaned up his work area every single day, never leaving a mess or piles of sawdust. He hauled away his own garbage every day. When he needed to work in the house he always carefully covered surrounding areas with plastic, and always left things as neat and clean as he found them. (Sometimes more so!) Again, he treated our house like it was his own with the level of care he showed. In short, I couldn't be happier with the experience, with the shutters, or Soltren Construction.
