We utilized Garden Island Towing through AAA for a flat tire. Of course, it is a Sunday, so all local tire shops are closed. Our technician was so pleasant and friendly (I believe his name was Karson). He removed the tire, filled it, found a nail, patched it, and we were on our way! They were a ways from us, but got to us in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Needed a tow from a parking lot to my mechanic. On fairly short notice, the driver picked up the car and keys and delivered to the mechanic. Eta was when they showed and they stayed in communication with me. Lady on the phone was very nice. All in all a great experience. read more

Rick responded to our initial battery call. He arrived before expected and found us in Costco parking lot right away. He was friendly and professional, quickly determined it was not a battery issue. He explained the process to request a tow and helped us with the process. The office staff was very friendly and efficient, arrangements were made to get the vehicle to the mechanic. The first employee who came out said that all the lug nuts were all stripped and he couldn't change our flat tire. He also said that he checked and I had only basic AAA plan and could only be towed 5 miles without charge. I afterwards checked with AAA and I have AAA Plus with 100 miles of towing. The next day I arranged to have the car towed to a tire warehouse and an employee from the same company came out and said that the lug nuts were not stripped and he could easily change the tire, which he did. A little later a woman from the company called me and was yelling at me over the phone. She said that the first guy told me that he couldn't change the tire because the lug nuts were stripped and that I had the second guy go ahead and change the tire. She was yelling that I would blame them if there was going to be a problem because of the second guy unscrewing the lug nuts. When I said I wouldn't blame them she said "ok" and hung up on me. So...one employee said "stripped, I can't change it"" and one employee said "not stripped, I can change it no problem". On top of my AAA plan being misrepresented and the opposing opinions from two of their employees, I was yelled at for allowing the guy with second opinion to proceed. Did not update their hours with AAA so we were stranded all night. We had to walk back to our hotel. When AAA got ahold of them they said they were on their way 3 hours later.. as you can imagine we were tired and just wanted to enjoy the island and we were a little annoyed that we felt stranded and this tow company is lying to us and to AAA. After a while they called me again saying they are going to refuse service because we are "entitled pieces of shit". I'm sorry, but being a tow service and refusing to help people is not a good business model. Sure it's our fault that we locked our keys in our car but as a service company they are suppose to help and not have fraudulent hours that messes with AAA and their customers. If you can get another tow service that would be better. read more

I wish I could give no stars to your incompetence. My wife and I waited all night after AAA confirmed they contacted you and were supposed to be there within a few hours. I never received help or even a response from your non-functioning "business". In fact no one even answered despite being open "24 hours" Then you have the guts to respond saying I am entitled for wanting you to do your job? You are a waste of space as a business and bring shame to this island. I had to break into my own car to get it back. You are a trash company. read more

If you have a choice, pick another towing company! Our rental car got a flat tire on a road that Garden Island does not service. But that's not the reason for my 1 star review. We spoke to George and he was incredibly rude and went on a rant about how Covid impacted his business. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere and he was completely insensitive to that. All he needed to say was that he was sorry he couldn't help us. Better yet, perhaps he could have offered a suggestion on how to help. read more

After waiting for 2 hours for another company that never showed, we called Garden Island Towing and they arrived within 15 minutes. They changed our tire in a matter of minutes and were very friendly. I highly recommend using them. For us, they saved the day. read more

My elderly parents were having some engine trouble. Better safe than sorry, we called for a tow. Joe senior was very friendly on the phone. Joe junior arrived within 20 minutes or so and was also very friendly, efficient, and courteous. Breaking down is stressful and they made it so much more comfortable for us. My young daughter was stranded in POLIHALI after she accidentally locked her key and phone in the car. We have AAA and the dispatcher initiated a service through GI towing which was rejected without any proper follow up or offer for another service. My daughter is lucky to be alive. Mahalo Keakua that she's safe after GI towing rejectEd, failed to help a young woman who was born and raised on this island. She only had one chance to use the borrowed phone and she trusted AAA and this local company just to be left stranded and in danger. This towing company takes pride in being a locally owned and operated Kauai business, failing to help their own community members. Shame on them !! read more

I requested two tows and they did not show up to the first job nor did they call to notify and did not answer my call. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Bad business, bad customer service. I'll be sure to spread the word around the island to use any other tow company. read more

BIG shout out to Garden Island Towing and driver Joey! Thanks. First trip all the way to Hanalei since the lockdown...loaded the car with boards, gear, food and taking advantage of great weather. Made it across Hanalei Bridge and BAM...dead right there. Called AAA, who contacted Garden Island Tow, and we figured that since they're coming from Lihue, probably 2 hours or more. Joey called me to give updates due to road construction, and still made great time. Super efficient in getting the car loaded quick (in a lousy area) and exceptionally friendly. Nobody hates breaking down, but I'd definitely consider using them if the need ever arises again! read more

I had a strange experience with Garden Island Towing. I paid them to tow my car to Puhi Metals. They said before they take it to Puhi Metals they have to hold car for 24hrs for dmv junking paperwork to go through. I said ok. I called the dmv and puhi metals to verify bc seemed weird. They said that was bad info and no 24 hrs waiting period exsists. I called garden Island towing asked them to take my car straight to puhi metals. They said can't. Apparently this is where I should have called cops. Garden Island ended up dropping car at Puhi Metals next day. According to DMV and Puhi Metals some tow places say this to strip car for parts before taking it to dump. If you're reading this call DMV and Puhi Metals if you have questions and they will verify. read more

Fantastic customer service with Aloha! First off, very quick to take my call and assure me help was on the way. I found myself in a bad position as my truck died (for myself and the tow coming to help). Sione arrived and never batted an eye. He was very professional and friendly and worked hard to get my truck off a busy stretch of road. Not once did he seem inconvenienced or bothered to be out there. I have had a habit of driving old trucks and unfortunately have had my fair share of towing episodes in the past. I have never dealt with the friendliness, professionalism, and Aloha that Sione and the Garden Island Towing team showed me. I recommend this company to anyone in that tough situation of needing a tow and I know if I need one in the future who I will be calling. Mahalo! read more
