Raul came by on time and gave me a fair and reasonable estimate so I made an appointment for the work to be done. We had to re-schedule once due to rain as water and power tools don't exactly go together well. Again, no hassle with changing the day. On the planned day, Raul showed up with another guy on time. We had him trim up 3 fruit trees, 3 palm trees, trim 10 bushes to candle shape, and clean up some junipers. He did the work well in a timely manner. Cleaned up everything. I paid him our agreed upon amount and DONE! He made a good suggestion as to a hill area which I took. Everything was easy as pie. I will most certainly be using them again for some summer clean up.

I had left voicemails and asked the Receptionist to attempt to get someone to call me back for 2 weeks to no avail...only to have the contract cancelled at 7:44pm the night before. House is going on the market this weekend, so it was not great timing. Similar to what others experienced, received a quote when I caught Henry in-person doing a neighbors yard; however, have had a really difficult time getting them to actually follow-up and start the job. Putting a house on the market this week, and had a signed contract with them to start tomorrow, instead they cancel last minute at almost 8pm the night before. I've been waiting on a call-back and have left voicemails and messages with their receptionist, but not having heard from them I called earlier today and of course some things had changed from what was quoted in-person and what they were planning on doing tomorrow. I guess they did me a favor by going ahead and cancelling the appointment altogether instead of having a conversation.

We've been through the whole process of getting quotes and browsing through Yelp for contractors and I can definitely say that the next time we have a landscaping project come up, we're going straight to Jeff. We received 5 estimates for our backyard - from companies large and small - and Jeff was the only one who actually listened to what we wanted and then gave thoughtful suggestions based on his expertise and actually had a vision for the space. Nearly every other company asked what we wanted but never asked any follow up questions or showed any interest in providing an expert opinion. That would be fine if I was a landscape architect and a botanist but... I'm not!! Jeff is extremely valuable not only for the high quality work that he and his team does, but for the knowledge and expertise that he brings to the table, and the fact that he actually CARES. Early on in the estimate process I mentioned to Jeff that we recently had a baby and that part of my motivation for updating our backyard was to make the space more functional as a fun play space for our son as he grows up. Jeff constantly tweaked the design and approach to accommodate this ultimate goal for the space. He purposefully laid out the plants and trees so that our son could run through the landscape once it grows in (which is tricky because the hillside is steep), he brought in extra boulders to give him something to climb up on and jump off of, and consciously steered us away from any poisonous or dangerous plants. Now, with the design that Jeff laid out, we are so so excited to see our son enjoy the backyard for years to come!! I should also mention that I have strong opinions when it comes to the design and layout of our home which made Jeff's approach even more impressive. His rates were comparable to prior two gardeners. He has shown up as scheduled every two weeks - no chasing him around. I know he'll be here. He and his coworker are here for at least 30 minutes (only backyard to do). He requested I let him know any concerns. So far I have had none. They both work together, do a great job, he answers questions and advises on things I ask i.e. trees, irrigation, plants etc. Highly recommend him - reasonably priced, honest, hardworking family man. Sometimes ya gotta know "the story" before calling out negative issues, i.e. out of state plates.
