Decided to randomly come here one day last year and enjoyed our massages. My gf and I came on a whim and this place looks shady af. We decided to stay even though we were greeted by a woman in a sailor moon outfit. She and an older woman gave us a couples massage. The drywall doesn't go up to the ceiling so there was plenty of noise distracting from the massage. Despite all this strange stuff, we enjoyed our cheap massages and came back today. We called to make an appointment yesterday for a 90 mins couples massage and were greeted today by a woman in a robe who asked if we can do 30 mins instead. She said to call next time and make an appointment. They don't speak English here and were using their phones to translate which made the interactions more confusing as we had an appointment and they told us to call next time. In summary, they give some good ass massages for cheap but who knows what you're walking into and whether or not you'll be seen for your scheduled appointment. read more

Bad experience here. I went in for a 90 minute massage, and they have you pay before the massage which is fine and I offered up a 25% tip before even getting the massage, and the woman literally refused it?? Saying it needs to be more? Last I checked tips were optional for great service. I was so shocked that she said no and to raise it that I didn't even know what to say. (She also pointed to a piece of paper saying they like tips to be 25% or more, then repeated the "or more" out loud) We then went to have the massage which first of all was at least 15 minutes less than it was supposed to be, and second just not a good massage. The room was cold, hardly ANY oil was used, mostly dry rubbing. And the woman left the room multiple times to speak with others. Where do I start with one... When I arrived, one of the employees was taking a good ol' nap on one of the massage chairs in the main area. I startled her and she seemed disoriented from her sleep. I played along and requested my desired foot massage. It turned out she was the masseuse, so that put me off right from the start. Once the massage began, I felt like she was just going thru the motions rather than focusing on giving a good massage. Her hands felt crusty and I could never relax in the way I like... There was also some language barrier, as her English was not great, so I was never sure if she understood some of my directions or requests. And what's with the head, shoulder and chest massage? First impressions were the place is clean, quiet, nice relaxing music, overall very pleasant. My wife and I had an appointment that was made yesterday but unfortunately, we still had to wait about 20 minutes because one of the ladies was running late. Then, while waiting I noticed that the prices had increased $8.00 for the foot massage based on other photos posted on Yelp. The lady who was late spoke decent English but the other lady did not. Soon thereafter I was shown to my private full-body massage room and my wife to her reclining chair that was adjacent to the front desk, not an optimum location. Privacy screens would be a nice addition. My massage was nice, though if I go again (we live out of town) I will ask for a little more pressure. IMO she spent a little too much time on my back and not enough on my legs. Being an avid cyclist, the legs need a lot of TLC. As usual though for every massage I have ever had, it was like being put into a time machine because the 90 minutes went by in a flash. My wife ended up getting the combo (foot and full-body massage) which she liked a lot, though the price point was a little higher than what we were expecting. I got a 60 min foot massage for $38. Not bad and the lady did a pretty good job. Afterwards I asked for some change for a tip and handed her a $20 bill. She gave me $8 back and pointed to a 20% tip. I told her that's more like thirty something percent tip and she refused to give me the money back. I ended up getting the money back and left her a good tip. The whole situation was bad and told her you don't do business that way. I doubt she understood what I was saying anyways. Just be careful when going there. read more

They laughed at me - literally called another person into the room and laughed at me. I'm sorry I wear a wig? Then they demanded I pay first. I'm confused if this is a real business or not. I'm rating this establishment a 2 star. I went in with my partner for a couples massage. The massage itself were great no complaints on that part but I had to pay before they started to massage. I was uncomfortable doing that, but I did it because it was just awkward. The worst part came towards the end as we were getting ready to leave a tip,both ladies were watching me intensely write out the tip and they asked me to tip $40 I was in shock that they would ask me that in the first place. I ignored their input and was going to tip $20 but as soon as they saw me writing down a 2, they were like NO your tip must be more than 25% she said we will only accept $30. I was so shook and so embarrassed for them and felt pressured to leave that tip so I did. I left just stunned at the whole situation, I will never be back, and I would recommend raising the prices of the massages vs making the customer uncomfortable asking for tip. I had been eyeing this nondescript massage parlor squeezed between White Center's various tattoo, pot and porn shops. After all, I am a sucker for reasonably priced massages. The shop's sign in the windows boast it's $30 Foot Massage. Today on a 85-degree Seattle summer day, I walked in per their "Walk-ins Welcome" sign. I requested a 60 minute foot massage and was given a look of confusion, so I pointed at the desired option on the sign. I was then asked to return 45 minutes later when a therapist was available. Guess walk-in appointments are best. When I arrived the second time around, I was welcomed pleasantly. They had me settle down in one of two sofa chairs adorned with pink polka-dot blankets. The smiley, frumpy Chinese therapist who spoke limited English kindly closed the store's front curtains, turned off the lights and turned up the Asian instrumental music playing overhead. I could still hear muffled traffic along 16th Avenue, rock music from the neighboring tattoo parlor and family members chit-chatting in the back of the business with a little girl who ran around in circles. Somehow, I was still able to find a sense of relaxation when the masseuse soaked my feet in a bamboo basket of hot water with green tea and started with a neck massage. Her monotonous hand movements using what smelled like Bath & Body Work's Cucumber Melon lotion included rubbing, slapping and hitting---all which were welcomed. The massage order she went in was neck, face, scalp, arms, legs, then feet. Garden Spa in West Seattle's White Center shopping district is my favorite destination for very affordable full body massage. I am 61 years old and have had many massages from 'awesome' to 'whatever' in my life, but I have had only very good experiences at Garden Spa in the dozen or more times I've been there. I have had mostly one hour full body massage with the occasional 90 minute. They also offer foot massage which I mean to do also but I love the body massage so much I always end up doing that. The therapists are Chinese and have varying degrees of English skills but that's never been an issue. The physical setting is unassuming and basic, and in the evening you sometimes can hear sound systems from nearby commercial neighbors. The rooms are not sound isolated as the walls are open at the ceiling so you hear conversation and hustle bustle from other sessions and the entry room. Although clean and attractive, this is not a fancy upscale place by any means. But the price is very good, and the massage is very professional, well worth the trade-off in the ambiance. I have been to a variety of Chinese massage places and many offer sub-par massage and often are a bit shady as well. Garden Spa is a completely different situation, very professional approach and a very good massage. Mostly in the past I have gone to Western therapists with training and many years of experience. Those practitioners definitely have specialized skills that might be required for sports or physical therapy applications, but for a basic massage to loosen up and feel good, Garden Spa offers a great experience at a very competitive price. read more

I was looking for a cheap Chinese foot massage place in my neighborhood and found this place. I called in the day of and easily got an appointment. On a Monday night, I was the only one in there. I originally just wanted a foot massage but then I got talked into a half hour massage and a foot massage for $60 which really wasn't such a bad idea. They had private rooms for the massages and do the foot massages out in the lobby. Foot massage places are firm and lack luxury but it does the trick. I was able to pay by credit card. All in all, it did the trick for my spontaneous massage. I'll probably go back out of convenience. read more

My 90 minute massage was spot on and well the worth the value. My masseuse was exceptionally communicative about the intensity of the massage. The rooms are open air with clean tables and bedding. The woman at reception was kind and spot good english. I was surprised and pleased when my masseuse brought me water 60 minutes in to the 90 minute session. Massage was great. I've been going to them since they were in White Center (now in Burien around the corner from me). I love that you can almost always just walk in, and always can get same day work. This is my go to massage solution when I want general relaxation. If I have a real problem, I see another therapist whom I can converse with. The masseuses here don't speak English all that well. And the modality if some kind of traditional Chinese style. It's very full-on. My only negative is that frequently the doors are locked with no one in, until an hour after posted hours of opening. Also, with just one staffer, the massage can be interrupted by a phone call or a walk-in. But these are minor. I enjoy a cheap, easy to schedule, Chinese massage. I've never had the same masseuse twice, and some have been more skilled than others, but all have been enjoyable. read more

Came back with a quote of $51!!!! REALLY?!?! If 60 minutes is $32, why is 90 minutes $51? I HATE businesses that try to take advantage of customers. The place was EMPTY. EMPTY!!! This review is based on the assumption that you've been to an Asian style massage place and are familiar with how they work. Today the language barrier got the best of me. I asked for "hard" twice and didn't get it. She also didn't massage my face and head which they always do. I asked to speak to the manager because I was still in pain. She apologized profusely and offered that she would give me an additional 30 minute massage. I waited about 5 minutes and was then treated to an amazing deep tissue massage! My hairdresser recommended this nearby business as it's easy to reach, affordable & the ladies are proficient. In a salon many references are overheard, shared & spread, so I expect this facility to be explored more fully. It's a bit different from the style I'm used to, although I find no reason to not embrace the difference & language barriers can be overcome. What seemed so different were the 2 large massage chairs placed in the large entrance room, totally exposed to all. I understand there are private treatment rooms for a full massage. It's not the cushy Western environment, but clean & honestly presented. I had a foot soak & massage, then the chair was reclined for a body treatment (fully clothed) at a very fair price. My stiff neck & headache were relieved, I left happy and can afford to visit here on a regular basis for relief of pain. read more

Stppped by here while in neighborhood having lunch with my girlfriend. We had the reflexology in the lobby which they quickly converted into a more intimate space. It was fine, but we were interrupted a couple of times by other patrons inquiring about services. No big deal really. As mentioned by others, they start at the top and work down to your feet manipulating various pressure points and massaging key muscles to release stress. This was by no means deep tissue massage, but still very relaxing. The practitioners were capable enough.
