I have been going here off and on for years and have never had a bad experience. The massages are consistent, they go hard, and it is the best deal in Seattle. The going rate atm is $40 if you pay cash, I never give less than $80 bc these guys work so hard and I work on tips as a bartender, so I understand how it works. People complaining that they were admonished for leaving a $7 tip are cheap (sorry... but it's true.. even at $80 for an hour full-body massage, it is a steal)... I used to love going here. I went 2-3 x per month for 8 years maybe? But three times out of the last 6 or so times I've gone, the person massaging me is an older woman who talks full volume off and on throughout the massage, and when she talks, she stops massaging. Her hands smell like cigarettes, she sits down on the massage chair next to me during the massage, and doesn't give any pressure. Her energy is extremely negative, and she is swearing and talking about customers with disgust. I get the impression she is some sort of manager? I'm disappointed, because almost every other person I've gone to there gives a great massage. I am an athlete and energy is important to me, especially the energy that is touching my body. I went in with an open mind given the hit or miss reviews and the prices, yet my shoulders and back were getting desperate for a deep tissue massage. Their menu offerings are all foot reflexology, however, I signaled to the non-English speaking guy at the desk that I wanted an hour back massage. He typed $68/hr in his calculator and I agreed. I was walked to a small, dark, curtained, private room where an older gal met me. I thought that all of this was a good sign. While the massage started off decent, I tried to ask multiple times for deeper or harder pressure. It continued to not improve so I took out my phone and translated. She acted confused and got the man at the front desk who called someone I'm guessing was the owner. I explained that I wanted a deep tissue massage and she was giving a light, Swedish massage. Then some yelling and indistinguishable communication was had. A male masseur then came in who had large and calluses hands, but yet again, the massage was too light. I kept trying to verbally cue him in to know when it was too light or just right. Maybe I shouldn't complain given that it was a $68 massage, however, I tipped in cash a $20 bill on top of the cost. The chair foot massages are the best I've had anywhere. Wow so relaxing and they really knead and hit all the pressure points on your feet! I get scalp tingles when they do it. I do not recommend the table massage here. It's most unrelaxing atmosphere. I got the 2 hour special twice which includes 1 hour body and 1 hour feet and I will no longer be getting any kind of table body massage here. The masseuses here have calloused hands and it felt like I was getting my back scrubbed both times. Meanwhile the staff talk to each other in Chinese and phones would be going off left and right while you're naked on a table separated by a curtain. They also don't give you much of a covering like at a nice spa place. I like to keep my underwear on during the massage but the second time, the lady massaging me pulled my underwear off anyway and started massaging my butt crack. Maybe she was aiming for my glute but it was definitely my butt crack and I had no muscles there. When I turned over at some point she also had bent here head over doing something to knead at me and she had her hair fall in my face all up my nose. It was the most uncomfortable thing ever!! It's right across from Joyale so we heard a lot of commotion outside the door. When in Seattle I came here with my boyfriend for two foot massages. The foot massages were an hour long and were $37 if you pay with credit card or $35 if you pay with cash. While the massage itself was a hour long it was in no means a relaxing massage. You truly get what you pay for. During the entirety of the massage both my masseuse and my boyfriend's masseuse were having a loud conversation the whole time and randomly began laughing, then proceeded to converse again. It was hard to relax due to the loud conversation and the music kept randomly switching from spa music to kpop music. Besides all of these factors the massage itself was painful at times and although it was called a foot massage was practically a whole body massage with 10 minutes spent on the foot and the remainder of the time spent massaging the neck, shoulders, hands, legs and back. When the massage was finally over, and it came time to pay the check the grand total with credit card was $74 of which I gave a little more than a 25% tip. Namely $20, to which the cashier said that is "too little" and demanded a tip of $30 which would be nearly a 40% tip, but he finally agreed for my $20 tip. The whole experience is definitely not one that I would want to encounter again, but for a one time occurrence when my feet were really sore after touring numerous tourist destinations it was okay. If you are truly looking to be relaxed and don't feel like being pressured to tip 40%, I would go elsewhere for a foot massage/massage in general! read more

Once we came here, the gentleman asked me what massage I want to have, despite of the call I made upon booking. Looks like he is not aware at all and there is no point making a booking prior to come. My ex-husband and I even had our own massage therapist on payroll for part time hours living at our home. The massage at Imperial Foot Massage is the best you can find in Seattle by a mile. They undercharge you for the service so that the massage therapists benefit from the extra generous tip. Do not tip these therapists less than $15-20. To do so, would be taking advantage of the whole system. Where in Seattle could you get a 90 minute massage like this for $45.00!?? If you are going to patronize this amazing massage place, realize 60-65$ is what you need to pay. Even at $65.00, that is only 1/2 of what you would pay for this kind of quality for 90 minutes anywhere else in the city. Btw,I have been here over 50 times and no masseuse has ever even remotely touched me in an inappropriate way. Honestly, I can't believe that these claims are more than claims by super conservative massage clients who haven't had a lot of massages in their lives. Awful experience. We went in because the reviews seemed decent. So difficult to find the store and once you go in it is rows of recliners in a dark room. There were several staff who were sick and coughing. They put your foot in a bucket lined with plastic and then cover your eyes. I've been to many many spas like this around the world and country and never have I been made feel so badly about my 25% tip (paid all cash too). The woman who gave me my massage was very friendly until I was paying when she said I didn't tip her enough. I asked what she felt was fair and said $60 on an $86 bill!!! I called ahead asking about price ($54/75 minutes), vaccine status (practitioners are vaccinated) and mask wearing practices (practitioners are wearing masks), and parking (there's free parking in the garage). The massage itself was good. The issue came at payment. I paid $54 and included a 15% tip. The massage therapist (possibly the owner?) scoffed and said $20%. I replied that I had a question. The fee for the massage was $54- correct? And I offered a gratuity- correct? He said, "yes, but there's a 20% tip required". I noticed he was getting agitated. This place happens to be one of our go-to spots because it is usually easy to drop in on, but your experience will vary widely depending on the employee you get. My daughter and I went for a massage. I was hoping it was going to be quiet, but the employees were talking a lot between themselves. There was another employee that was taking a nap and he was snoring so loudly that is was awful. I felt like the employees did not realize that we were paying money for a relaxing experience, but it was far from that with all the activity going on with the workers. When it came time to pay, the 2 gentleman that did our massages told us we had to pay $10.00 each for a tip. Do they understand that the gratuity is optional? We left a tip, but they actually did not deserve $10.00 each mainly because it was far from relaxing. Message to the owner(s): please take the customer feedback seriously, if you want to run a reputable and sustainable business. Demanding ANY particular amount for a gratuity is unacceptable - if the staff need to be paid more, then raise the prices! Don't create an expectation for - and certainly don't demand - a "minimum" gratuity, particularly when the service is so inconsistent (again, reading the customer feedback in the reviews). Provide excellent service and 1) a higher price is totally justified, and 2) many people will be happy to tip generously. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because in my experience a couple of weeks ago, the massage itself was pretty good (but not great) and at least went the full hour. Otherwise, I was lucky I had small bills with me, as when I paid the $28 with $40 cash, he paused when counting out the change (the register had plenty of small bills) and decided to give me a $10 and two $1, instead of $5s or more $1s like many other places would, to facilitate the tip. When I went into my pocket to pull out a $5 so I could give a $7 tip, he pointed and said "one more" after I gave the $7. They don't change out the cover to the reclining chair that you sit on and they message you on . or the pillow that your head lays on . The lady that did my message her hands smell like cigarettes . They rotate people continuously on the chairs or recliners without changing out the covers . The towels they use are very rough on your feet from using over and over again . I was grossed out from the reuse of towels on the pillows . This is not a reputable place . I can see why one lady was wearing a long sleeve top and long sweat pants when she laid on the recliner because she didn't want her skin touching the surface of it but still not sanitary in anyway. DO NOT GO HERE. I had been going to this massage place for a few years now. I always go the normal 60 min $28 foot and body massage in the main room with all the red chairs. The latest and last time I will ever go to this place was a few days ago. When I arrived for me and my partner's appointment, they shuffled us into the private rooms. I was so confused as to why they moved us there as we regularly do the main room massage. Long story short. It was difficult to communicate with them as they don't speak much English and my mandarin is terrible. We were sure whether or not to take clothes off so we decided to just take our shirts off. Well when we got into our rooms my massage person asked me to take my leggings off and did for me. My partner did not get asked the same thing. When they were getting to the legs portion, they hiked up my panties way the hell up and very inappropriately touched my other areas. getting a massage here answered the timeless question: what would it be like to get a massage from a cat that doesn't know human anatomy? answer: uneven, terrifying, malicious, and leaving damage to your back and apparel. i first told my masseuse that the water was WAY too hot for my feet and she responded by saying that if i put my feet in now, it will cool down in 10 min and i won't notice by then. in hindsight: RED FLAG! she started the massage by running her fingers over my scalp in a manner that said "i'm trying to pull your hair out, without the use of opposable thumbs." from there, she began rubbing my face so hard, i was able to tell exactly which parts of my face have decreased collagen, and hoping i'm not developing stretch marks. the body portion of the massage could best be described as a cat who was transformed into a human, shown a short clip of someone getting a back rub, but didn't put together that anatomy is different for humans. i was getting HARD pressure applied tendons and connective tissue, like they were trying to work a knot out of a muscle; it kept going, until they eventually decided "welp, can't get this this knot out!" remember though, it wasn't a knot. from there, they started kneading my spine, also like you'd expect a cat to... only with claws out, and the metamorphesized cat realizing they could spread their fingers much further than claws. what came to mind was that scene in X-Men where Lady Deathstrike reveals her claws to Wolverine, and i was just as taken aback and frightened as Logan was. to cap off the entire experience, there was some sort of party at the restaurant across the mall, with karaoke featuring "that guy" from Rush Hour that mortified Chris Tucker's character; i was holding back laughs, which was made easier by the bulldozer crashing on my spine. i left and came home to pop a pain-pill that i thankfully had leftover from a surgery, threw away the shirt i was wearing, because it was ripped in the neck, then said a prayer for the first time in years; hopeful my shirt absorbed the brunt of the damage rather than my neck. read more

This is a great spot for a inexpensive, competent, no frills massage. The woman I spoke to on the phone, to make a reservation, spoke fluent English, but the man who greeted me when I entered did not. There was a bit of confusion about my appointment, but they seated me immediately, and found a masseuse for me within a few minutes. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is one large, dimly lit room with perhaps 20 recliners. Wear loose, soft clothing that can be rolled up above the knee. Your feet will be placed in hot water and they'll eventually use oil on your calves. There is soft instrumental music playing, but you'll still hear a bit of traffic and construction noise, the odd flush from the toilet or groan from other clients. If you are looking for a spa day with hot rocks, scented candles, and essential oils, look elsewhere. But for me, the point of a massage is ... the massage. My masseuse, Jakwae(?), provided a comfortable but deep one, just what I needed, and at half the price I'd pay up on Capitol Hill. I'll definitely be back. read more

Came here for a massage and for the price you really can't beat this. Got a full body for $35 for 1 hour (credit card is $37). We had a 6 hour flight to Seattle and we're so tense, we called to see if they could take us immediately and they said they could take both of us within 15 minutes. I had only been to franchise massage envy's, etc but have gotten over 100 massages in my lifetime and was very happy with this for the price. It can be a little loud because they are in a indoor strip mall across from a buffet but Chairs were comfy, and I walked out feeling less tense, and relaxed. Tipped $10 and didn't have any issues like other reviews. For $45 one hour massage all in, it's truly such a great deal. Could use a little more AC in there though as I felt hot at times. read more
