I would never recommend this company or contract with them again. I selected them believing they were an honest and fair company based on the sales representer's presentation, etc. What I received was an extremely overpriced contract for the work performed. My order was more than double the necessary materials needed. The sales representative over inflated the price and materials! What I ended up with is (4) 5 gallon buckets of material weighting 53 lbs.,each placed in my backyard, When I asked the workers why they didn't use the material They said that it remaining after the painting and stucco work was completed. I couldn't believe so much was unnecessarily order although not needed. They just left the buckets there until I asked for their help to store it in my basement! So now I have no use for the materials and realize that I was cheated, fooled, and mislead....and lastly, I paid $13,000+ for max. $6000 worth of work performed. Never again. Do not use this company! I would never recommend this company. We had GSBandS work on my mom's house. Ralphael and his team had cement on my mom's windows and grass which they tried to cover with a cone that was on the side of the house. They were able to start the work quickly but missed a lot of pipes and fixtures. The pipes and fixtures were never painted. I spoke with the salesman Doug and he told me they would be done. When I spoke with Carmen scheduling person she said they were busy and would get back in touch with me. It was 2 weeks and I never heard from her. I called back and spoke with Doug he promised to call me back and never did. Just wanted to let people know. read more

I wanted to get an estimate on stone for our chimney and front foundation of our house. After doing my research I decided to call garden state brickface because I've seen their trucks and work in our area. We called and scheduled an appointment. Sean the sales rep came out and showed us our options. He gave us a price and was pushing us to leave a deposit right now to save $500. We decided a few weeks later to call him back. He came back again. Went over everything one more time. He even gave us a better price because we decided to do both jobs (chimney and foundation). We gave a $4200 deposit and signed the contract. A few days later someone from the company came out and did an actual measurement. They said they would order the stone and we would be scheduled. Days and days went by. We called several times and didn't get a call back. Finally about 2 weeks later we get a call from the sales rep saying there is a problem. The stone went up in price and they measured wrong and it was going to be about 3000 more. That's complete bs! They tried getting out of the contract. After calling and speaking to the vp Omar he offered to drop it to 2500 more. That's not our fault and should be on the sales rep for not measuring before quoting the job. Now they want to refund our deposit. All I have it say is buyer beware when they come out and give you a price and then days later send another guy out to do an actual measurement. They will do the same thing they did to us. Omar said it's on the back of the contract they have 30 days to accept the job. Well they took my deposit and had me sign the contract, so to me that means they accepted the job. They messed up and now are trying and to get out of it. Over 25 years I've used this company for several of my home and recommended their services to many of my friend, but recently I contacted them and I was referred to a representative by the name of Mike whom after waiting days for a call back I had to call back several times and several emails just to get his attention, I requested information for a repair to be made on my stucco and asked me to email him pictures of my home and i did the very next day and several days passed and no answer I tried calling him again and again and he is always busy and doesn't call back ever. Please be careful if you decide to do any type of business with these people even the person that answers the phone treats you like they are doing you a favor. Poor work quality at a high price. I hired Garden State Brickface to paint my garage, including replacement of rotten wood, scraping, sanding and priming of raw wood. The job was completed, with clearly visible dripping paint throughout the garage, rotted wood that was not convenient for the crew to replace, painting over staples that could easily have been removed instead of being painted over, horrible bumpy putty to close gaps, and no filler between some joints where they replaced wood. I waited 7-8 weeks for the work to begin without receiving a single phone call. When they finally started the work, two men scraped portions of the garage with a 2-inch putty knife and were about to start painting. I stopped them and insisted there was still loose paint, more scraping was necessary and that they hadn't sanded or primed as per the contract. The foreman told me that sanding was not necessary, left and returned days later after I sent pictures and video to the salesperson of loose paint being removed with my finger. I micromanaged as much of the job as I could, and had to replace portions of rotted wood myself, because the foreman and manager said it couldn't be done. After much complaining on my end, the manager did become more responsive and checked in on the job several times, until I approved payment. The salespersons opening line to us was they have higher prices than competitors, but I could trust them to deliver a good job. That promise was clearly not met. In fact, I showed them my neighbors garage that was recently painted by another company, and their response was that I should not expect perfection, and not to expect the garage to look as good as my neighbors. read more

I had occasional to request a quote from Garden State Brick Face for the repair of a stucco exterior garage wall. through Angi / Home Advisor. A person by the name of Doug showed up to examine the project. He looked at the damage and it was clear that he was not someone that I could rely on for an accurate quote. He had to be prompted to take measurements of the wall. I felt that he was trying to make the repair into more than what was required. He left saying that his office would mail me a proposal after he shot a $8500 quote at me. The emailed quote NEVER arrived. I engaged another contractor through Angi. This contractor found the source of the damage that Doug missed. This contractor repaired ALL of the damage for $4000. The work that was done was A+++, the contractor was professional, courteous and the repair was done in one day. Bottom line, always do your homework, get several quotes and read reviews. In my opinion, I am glad that I did not engage Garden State Brick Face for my project. read more

I was so happy I did because we stayed nice and warm behind those beautiful windows. From the first moment that Sean entered my house I knew that I was in good hands. This job was a disaster and still going because they never picked up their junk from my front yard. I complained to management several times only to hear he didnt think it was going badly. Some of the excuses I received for no shows were its was very hot, they ran out of materials or I will call them and see where they are. This was unacceptable for me because I hired a reputable company so I wouldn't have these issues. My job was completed on Friday and they said they would come back the next day for their junk that was left in my front yard. To boot I seen one of their guys removing garbage for a neighbor today. I'm truly in shock. The job looks okay and I would say use them if you can deal with all the aggravation. As for me if I'm spending the kind of money they charge I expected much better service. I was recommended this company by ServiceMagic for a siding job. One of the first questions I was asked by the representative was whether I was married. I was told by him that their company policy was that they would not give me an estimate unless my husband was present. I found this bizarre and confusing after 12 years of owning a building in Brooklyn and having used many contractors and having never been asked that question or being told that that was a company policy, bar none. Being clearly confused by this I was asked if I wanted to speak with the company president and was transferred to marketing supervisor, who reiterated that they would not show up or provide me an estimate unless my husband was present. We had all our windows installed by this company and getting them to stand behind their warranty is a HUGE challenge. 2 years ago it took them 7 Months to repair a window that was not installed properly and was leaking. Over 2 weeks ago I contacted their customer service and managers by phone and email to come and make repairs to some of our windows and I'm getting the runaround again. I really wish I had known this before the sales rep came out and sold us on buying All our house widows from them. Garden State exceeded expectations. Harvey was our salesman, a true professional, and wrote a contract for what we wanted repaired on our Tudor home. Ralph was our site manager with decades of experience, and Jose was our foreman. Jose and his team of 2 worked for two days and completed the job. We had stucco repair done on 12 sections of our home. The color was an identical match, as well as the stucco pattern - all done by hand. You cannot tell the difference between the existing portions and the repaired portions. My small children visited and watched the repairmen often and they were always kind to them. I had gone with the stucco for the front of the house, garage area, chimney and front steps in 2007. It was a big job and it took a few months for everything to come together. Once completed, the house came out really nice but I was told by the salesman that it is a lifetime warranty on the entire job. I had some issues a couple of years back with cracks on the steps with the stucco coming apart from the underlying brick. They were professionally taken care of and I was thrilled. It was taken care of in a timely manner, as expected since I was under the impression it had a lifetime warranty. Last year around September 2015, I had the same issues with the steps but worse than ever. After contacting GSBS, I was told that the stairs and chimney only carry a 1 year warranty unlike the front of the house. I was taken back quite a bit since something different was told to us when the original salesman was there. After all the issues were laid out and explained to the Manager, after the holidays and cold weather passed I was able to speak to the Manager once again and review all the issues I had with the steps. As of today, April 25th, all my concerns were answered and the steps look as good as new. Thank you so much!! Once again they have a very satisfied customer!!! : ) read more

Everything we got and didn't get was the opposite of what we were told. Our house looks awful! The call to brickface begins with a 45 minute sit down w you and your spouse. My contract with them was using their acrylic paint (w 10 year warranty of guarnatee no cracking of paint and mold free) on the whole front side and the adjacent sides ( 12" wide on each side that meets the front sode of the house) for three grand. I decided to go with them because i heard about three local paintjobs that went sour...either the painters tool my friends money or did half the job. Brickface started with powerwashing the walls but never chipped off the old paint. Regardless the brickface paint look very well on my already established stucco. However my two wooden columns looked like a shabby job since the old paint was not removed. The brickface painter convinced me not to do the adjacent walls since the color would not match the old paint. So when i called lori (business manager) if i can get credit for next years paint job (next year i plan to paint the one side for six grand), the next day unbeknowst to me the wall was already painted. I also had a problem with them acrylic painting my stucco steps. They filled the cracks and then painted. It was not a smooth job as promised by the sales rep. So when the painter came back he repainted it using benjamin moore paint that had a better look to it. Now i owe them three grand. I was planning to use them again next year but im not sure due to loris business tactics. This makes me think if their 10 year warranty is just a lie. We hired Garden State Brickface to install ledge stone to the front of our home, replace broken limestone entry stairs and a tattered chimney. From start to finish the process was smooth. The salesperson came out to assess the job and discuss financing options within a week of my first call. Within a couple weeks, the work began and was completed in 5 days. The work began on time each day and the site cleaned at the end of every day. I also received a daily call from the office to inquire about the work. Our house began to get a lot of traffic with people inquiring about the work. It's not quite 1 week yet, but so far I am pleased with the outcome. no stars from me ...never seen worse results....i ordered a four tone stacked stone look to match a home that i physically showed them, and they promised perfection. It looked like one color bright red brick, no accent tones at all. After a big fight in front of my home, they finally admitted the mistake and agreed to redo it. three months later, the second time around was even worse... made me and all passers by nauseous to even look at the crazy checkerboard they chicken scratched on my home. refusing to pay until satisfied, they left the garage surrounded by scaffolding (my car blocked in) with exposed nails just days prior to halloween night and our busy political party season. they refused removal so to protect our home form the upcoming cold and unsafe environment, we did so ourselves. BUYER BE WARE!!!! Product - composite windows - very nice....but overall office and salesmen service...very very very poor. The company seems to have a revolving door with their salesmen. Not quite sure what is going on, but it's quite scary when you start dealing with a salesman and when you call to speak with them, they tell you they are no longer with the company. This has happened to me twice in less than a year. I first came across GSBF @ a home show in Edison. Called and a really cool salesman came by...we discussed plans for my home - i advised him I was in the middle of an insurance settlement, he told me no problem. After I "finally" received my insurance check (about 9 months later), I totally changed the direction I was going for my home....so i called him back and he advised me that he no longer worked there. Mind you I will say he was very professional; nice and very knowledgeable about their products. He advised that I call the office and speak with the manger, which I did. Manager told me I needed to contact another salesman (#2), which I did, he came by, not as friendly, but did the job...so I went with their windows (AND ONLY B/C I already had a credit balance with their finance company OR ELSE I WOULD NOT HAVE USED THEM....)The salesman told me he would check up to be sure the project was moving along smoothly and there were no issues. Install scheduled - no salesman; install happened, no salesman; and now there is an issue with the billing, so I called the salesman only to be told "I no longer work for the company"...umm this was less than a month later...are you kidding me. So now I'm directed back to the manager...let's see how long this takes to get straightened out, if it does at all. meanwhile the company and their employees are only interested in ONE THING...GET THE SALE AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER. Again, Product: Sliding composite windows...nice, very nice, but for all the aggravation, they are NOT worth the over $4k I paid, and it was only for 6 windows. Really.... read more

Biggest mistake of my life. They promised a good professional job. They delivered 3 poor attempts at brickface and tinting that was unnatural looking and partly washed away. Sloppy workmanship, damage and debris from power washing, and stair treads that had unfinished edges and saw marks on the surfaces.Also their paint is peeling in many areas. read more

I had a stucco job done on my foundation. It was to be dark grey in color. When it was completed the color was inconsistent and a few areas were almost. white. We had them take a look at it and they said nothing could be done except painting the foundation. I will be taking them to court. Stay away from these people, they are not honest. read more

Company removed the faux stone facade on my house replaced it with "stone look" stucco. Everyone I dealt with professional, responsible and reliable. They gave me a quote and the final price was exactly what I had been quoted. The job took two days. Day one was spent removing the old façade and putting on the base coat of stucco. Day two, a second and then third coat was put on. Lines were drawn to make the façade look like stone, and it does. After the third coat was applied and the lines drawn, my personally selected colors were painted into the stucco. It was if I were watching an artist painting on a canvas. I am very happy with the work that was done. My house has never looked so good! read more

We used Garden State Brickface after getting many quotes from other contractors in the area on replacing EIFS. While most people complain about the in house home estimate I felt that Guy did an excellent job explaining the entire job to my wife and I. It did take some time for them to start the project but that was due to the terrible winter we had. Mike Hoitt was our Brand Installation Manager and he was able to answer all of my questions and concerns quickly. He even came out to the job and one point when I had concerns about the job. To me that is an individual who cares about our business. Tommy was our Foreman for the project. He and his team were very courteous and always picked up after themelves each day. Once the job was completed and before the final papers were signed we walked the entire job and was very impressed with their work. Only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because I do believe their prices were a bit high for just stuccoing the replaced EIFS. ZERO STARS! I called for a quote in October. Company did not get back to me. Company called back in early December and scheduled an afternoon appointment for the weekend. Called back the day before to confirm. Lady on the phone indicated that there was no appointment and then determined that she could make arrangements after all. However, she then demanded that both owners be present during the estimate. Then I was told that the estimate would take 60 to 90 minutes. I explained that because we have small children and an infant that is breast feeding, that simply won't be possible. She explained that both spouses must be present for the appointment. I told her we no longer needed the quote and to take me off their calling list. Instead of getting a guaranteed project that we need done immediately, I will take my business elsewhere. I've never experience such bizarre terrible customer service from a potential contractor. read more

I had the same experience witht the husband issue. She showed up at my house in jeans and a worn out sweatshirt, telling me, my husband had to be present. She told me, there are laws to protect spouses. Hum, I told her no. She told me I could speak with their office if I wanted to. Hum, if that's the case, I told her maybe you should just go then....and I wish she had. It was suppose to be an hour and a half, how about three hours. My goodness, it's a window. The presentation was designed for 11 year olds. Her, touch this, stand and look here, she waited for me to touch or look, even while seeing I was annoyed. It not did matter. She would not quote me on virgin vinyl, said that's only for people who can't afford pre-fab wood. She said this at least 1/2 a dozen times. She needed to explain the history of windows, and then spent more than a 1/2 hour bashing vinyl windows...also told me they don't make wood windows anymore, because we are out of wood??? I could go on, but won't....she said the company is employee owned. There's no way I'd let another one of them in my house....the aggressive sales, the lies or exaggerated truths were just a little too much for me.....with all of this, she didn't leave a quote that was supposed to be good for 30 days.
