Wow, these guys are true professionals. We recently purchased an old home that passed inspection. We had Ben Grano come in based on a referral from a friend for an estimate on concrete work. He immediately noted issues in the basement that the previous owner covered up with lots of Drylock paint that were not caught by the home inspector. He recommended replacing some columns under the main beam as well as adding in three pilaster columns to support the main beam and the walls after he noted cracking in the concrete blocks. We also decided to do a french drain at the same time. Ben gave us a written estimate that was incredibly detailed and easy to understand. On the first day of the job, Gene Grano arrived with the crew and emptied our basement before setting up, covering anything left there and laying down plywood in our driveway and on the grass. Once the crew started breaking the floor near the walls, they found that our home had no footing and the walls were built right on top of the dirt. The central columns were also laying on top of the floor with no footings. Ben and Gene explained everything to us and went over options. We were very upset about the situation but they reassured us and went over the game plan. The crew was awesome. They worked nonstop Monday through Saturday and were very polite and professional. The entire job was complete in just under three weeks and we are incredibly happy with the outcome and we know that the job was done right and our home will be safe and secure for years to come. Every part of the job was explained and shown to us. The crew did a great job cleaning up every day. We could not be more happy with Mario Grano And Sons LLC and are happy to refer them to anyone. These guys are the best! Hands down..... Benny will explain, in thorough detail, what the issues are and what every step they are taking during the construction. His crew is very punctual, on time every morning, and clean the work area every evening to make it safe to walk on or across while the cement cures. We needed our whole front porch replaced due to it sinking and separating from the house. We had them install a nice size patio and sidewalk, pitched away from house, to keep the ground water away from foundation. While they were at it, we had them redirect our gutter downspouts directly to the street. Will be calling them back for a driveway update soon. read more

We had foundation and drainage problems. Ben came for an estimate. He explained the problems and how he will repair it. The cost was reasonable considering the work involved. They have very hard working employees who did a great job. The entire job took 2 days, when the work was completed everything was cleaned up and it looks great. Mario Grano & Sons has done work for me for over 20 years. Living in a house built in 1895 with add-ons through the 1930s pretty much guarantees some unpleasant surprises, and I've come to rely on Mario Grano & Sons as an essential resource. Over the past 20 years, they've done water proofing, foundation repair, retaining wall construction, slab construction, and most recently, replacement of a failed stormwater drainage system and masonry repairs. All of these projects had great outcomes. Projects completed 20 years ago still look new and are performing as designed. Mario Grano and Sons is a family business and is run by Mario's sons, Ben and Gene. What sets the business apart from so many other contractors is their professionalism, knowledge, decades of experience, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to actually listen to their customer. The first thing you'll notice is that your call will actually be answered or returned quickly. (This is not a guy with only a cell phone and truck type of business.) A professional office manager will take your details and set up an appointment for a site visit and estimate by either Ben or Gene. During the site visit, you'll talk about options and costs in what will be a true conversation. Once the project is started, you'll find the crews to be professional, courteous, and respectful of your property. When its complete, you'll know you made the right decision. For our latest project, I had to replace a failed stormwater drainage system that was located largely under a deck with just a crawlspace to work in. Further complicating the project were the site topography and limited areas to run new piping to increase system capacity. Ben came out and we spent a lot of time looking at options - balancing them with my concerns for controlling costs and minimizing damage to landscaping. After a second walk through and some follow up discussions, we had our plan. Gene handled day to day issues once we began. When everyone arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the crew leader was same person who had worked on my house 20 years ago. They had three crews on site to kick start the project. Once the excavation began, we found unanticipated damage that required repairs. Gene evaluated things and after a clear explanation as to what he found, he made recommendations for repairs. We agreed on the additional scope and kept moving along. This was all done on the same day - showing the value of having a contractor with decades of experience. The repairs were made the next day and the job continued. Despite heavy rains, an arctic cold wave, and the intervening holidays, the job was finished on time, the site actually looks better than when they began, and I no longer dread heavy rains. Once the crew left, I was sitting here thinking that while I would have preferred not to have had to do the work, I knew it did have to be done and was certain that Mario Grano & Sons were the right people to do it. I contracted Mario Grano & Sons to demolish and replace my front brick porch. I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BAD to say about this company. Their workers are courteous and professional. There was no time wasted at all even on the cold wet rainy days. They erected a tent over the area they were working on and continued their tasks. It was a start to finish job. It looks beautiful. After seeing their lawn signs going up around my neighborhood and watching them work, I called when I needed an estimate to do my front stoop and walkway. Ben came over and with an enthusiasm that was matched by none of the other companies, he helped us design the front of our home that fit all of our needs. His suggestions from the color of the brick to the design shape of the patio/walkway and their reasonable pricing, I was sold. The team that came was amazing. It was like watching artisans at work. They were creative, efficient, clean, timely and so nice. Without ever being pushy on "selling" us, Ben's design was done to keep a 2nd project we had in mind (driveway) to do the following year so it would flow into the walkway. The first job came out amazing! Fast forward a year later, this is when we met his awesome brother Gene and his amazing wife, Kathy. He held our hand through this project. With his suggestions, incredible attention to the details and extraordinary team of workers, I have the best driveway, privacy fencing for my garbage cans and pergola covered patio! With a few more projects on the horizon, this will be the only company I call. It's not a pretend company where they send someone really nice to sell you and then sub contract it out. These guys are a family owned business with their own team. You know they are good people when their own workers have been with them for more than 20 years. We cannot say enough about how pleased we were with Mario Grano & Sons. Ben and Gene were wonderful through out and his team was not only efficient, always on time but extremely clean. Our basement required major waterproofing and two sump pumps installed that took 11 days to complete. Our basement now is dry and ready for finishing. You will not be disappointed with these guys, they know what they are doing and are the nicest. We will use them again to build a new brick front porch. We recently contacted Mario Grano & Sons to replace our front porch and sidewalks. Ben Grano came to our home and discussed the job and gave us the address of several of their recent masonry jobs to see. We knew they had an excellent reputation and were impressed by the homes that we viewed. Ben helped us choose the brick color that would complement our house, the layout of the sidewalk, and gave us a price and an appropriate time frame when the job would begin. They began within the timeframe and, once they started, their crews worked everyday, except Sunday. Either Gene or Ben Grano came by during the day to move it or the progress of their crew. Half way through the job we decided to add some additional work to our plant areas. They were very accommodating and incorporated the additional work into the job. Their clean-up was meticulous, too.
