It is really the perfect size (possibly just a bit more than we need). I really enjoy cooking at home, especially with fresh fruits and veggies. They deliver to my area every Monday, which is perfect for planning meals for the work week. I also appreciate that they usually have some time of lettuce (kale, spinach, or a few varieties) so salad is always on the menu. We came on an industry tour and it was a crazy big group. When we got there they had a couple stands with local vendors selling products. They also had some produce and dips to sample. A while later the tour starts. You get to walk all around the farm, hear how they plant their produce and you still get to pick your own clamshell of strawberries! It ends with a lunch that they make with produce from JR. I will say the lunch was good but definitely different from the vegan one we had a year ago. But very understandable since they had so many more people to feed this time. Mike led the tour and he was great! A seasoned pro and was not at all bothered having to lead such a large group.

I wish it was a more friendly place for the prepared food where the market is open later and you don't have to stand to eat your food.

The website says that dogs are not allowed, but they are everywhere and it's a pain to avoid them and tripping over their leashes. It's easy to fill up the bucket with ripe strawberries quick. Although it doesn't seem like there's a lot of strawberries at first glance, there's a lot as I walked through the rows of strawberry plants - that was part of the fun! One thing I wasn't prepared for was the dirt and how muddy the strawberry rows were. I'm not sure if it was always that wet. Perhaps it was because it rained earlier in the day? My shoes got extremely dirty and there wasn't a convenient way to wash it off there. I recommend wearing rain boots. In addition to strawberries, there was a sunflower maze and a separate section for a simple sunflower field. For those who don't want to worry about food, there's vendors and food trucks on site. They also sell jam and fresh strawberries at the stand, which doesn't require an admissions ticket. Service wasn't anything special. The staff there were efficient and friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and I recommend visitors trying out the U-Pick experience!

My friends and I spent maybe 2 hours here, getting lost in the corn maze, taking pictures, and enjoying the scenery. I do remember in years prior they had a apple cannon, but I didn't see it this time around. They have even scarier mazes which I am too scared to try, but sounds more interesting! Other attractions require tickets, which require a purchase. The corn maze was $10. Other attractions were seeing bunnies and goats, mini rides, pony rides, tractor rides, and even a hidden speakeasy. There was entertainment too and live music! I enjoyed my time at the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch and would definitely add to your itinerary for fall festivities!
