I needed to find a trusted advisor to serve as a sounding board and objective ear when I hit a financial snag. I scoured Yelp and came across ITS Financial and Kiak. After reading several reviews I felt like Kiak was the guy to talk through my situation with me. I messaged him via Yelp to briefly explain and received a response first thing the next AM (I sent my message after hours). Kiak was very honest and upfront from the get go. After a little bit of back and forth we spoke on the phone, then and only then did he agree to take me on as a client. This may seem odd, that he would potentially turn away business, but his integrity is what shined through for me. Any financial advisor can take your money and tell you enough things to fill 1-2 hours so they could make a few hundred $s. But, Kiak was not that guy. From the start he was looking for 2 things from me...1. that I was mentally prepared and had faced reality, and 2. that I knew there was a 50/50 chance of him being able to find a solution for me. I viewed it as a small investment in making sure I had covered all my bases. I was ready. After we spoke, Kiak told me that he would see me only because I had gotten myself prepared and covered those bases prior to contacting him. At the consultation Kiak was thorough, thoughtful, and best of all a human being. He understood what was going on and spent a lot of time and stressing the importance of rethinking things and gave me many practical examples from within my own situation of how I should have viewed things. He also has a background that allows him view things from angles that someone who strictly does financial planning or strictly does taxes could not. For example, by looking at previous years tax returns he can spot cash flow trends and bring them to your attention before there is any problem...correcting problems before they become problems. I was lucky enough to stumble upon ITS during a Google search for tax preparers and I cannot recommend them highly enough! I was the last appointment of the day and Kiak stayed with me an hour after they should have closed to make sure everything was right and to explain everything to me step by step. (Usually, I do my own taxes but I started freelance work as a personal assistant this year and needed some extra guidance.) He gets you to look at the big picture in your financial life, not just the yearly tax income part. He is very educated in the many aspects that make up your financial well-being. Everyone at the office is very friendly and personable. They care about you as an individual and offer you coffee, water, and snacks. You're not just a number that they need to get in and out in a certain amount of time (like at other big-name tax companies.) I also found the price to be well-worth the time and effort that Kiak put in and I'm fairly certain it was less than what H&R Block would have charged. Additionally, they also have someone in the office who specializes in Covered CA and I'll be in touch with them this week as well so I can move away from my expensive COBRA benefits. I randomly came across this business searching on Yelp for nearby accountants who could not only help me with paying taxes (I recently quit my regular day job to become a full-time freelancer), but also could sit down with me and give me clear, step-by-step advice on what I need to do to keep track of my finances, tax rules I should be aware of, and other freelance-related tax advice so I could make sure that I was doing everything correctly and efficiently on the financial side of things. Made an appointment to get our taxes done and that part was very easy. Easily accommodated for a Saturday appointment. We were first time customers and didn't really know what to expect. I am glad that we found this place. It's a wealth of information that I was not expecting. They went over our past taxes for the past two years and showed us the many critical mistakes that our old tax guy had made. Which is one of the reasons I was looking for a new tax person. What a relief to come here and know things are getting done right. Also they take the time to explain things and get to know your financial situation. I say that because besides specializing in tax services, they are knowledgable in real estate and other financial investment planning. So you are getting more then just good tax service; you are getting good financial planning. It's not a place that tries to sell you services that you do not need. They simply offer good sound financial planning advice and really seem to be trying to help. One of his interesting comments was that the general public just doesn't know enough about financial planning and how to make sure their taxes are being done properly. He shows genuine concern. Which is awesome. Very, very, knowledgable and experienced. And a plus is that he used to be a teacher, so he is very good at explaining and teaching you about finances. Everyone there is very easy going and friendly. Very professional. The yelp reviews are right on the money. He also excused himself a few times to greet clients that he knew by name. That says to me, that he's truly about building relationships. It's very close to my house but even if it wasn't, it would be worth the drive. From the moment I set an appointment to the actual meeting time (last Saturday), I felt like they were glad to have me as a customer and were genuinely interested in helping me do my taxes well. Kiak and his team at Integrated Tax Service are fantastic. I'm a woman who likes to understand what's going on, know my options and have a plan. So my expectations were really high. I wasn't just looking for someone to help me with my taxes, but also to give me some solid financial planning advice (I'd recently switched from a FTE to contractor status for the first time, so I had several questions). Kiak and his team at Integrated took the time to walk me though my current W2. They showed me different areas to save that I'd not known about before and highlighted things for me to take note of this year so I can continue my savings next time around. I all, my tax return was almost 3x larger than it had been in previous years. When it came time to move on to the financial planning portion, we'd run out of time since we went on a busy day (and my boyfriend had his taxes done too). Kiak and I emailed back and forth till we had a day/time that worked for me again. We drove down again (we live in Venice) and Kiak sat with us for an hour one morning and answered ALL our questions, explained different financial buckets (Bonds v. 401K v. savings) and provided us with the tools we needed to set up a proper budget, short and long term savings plan. Such an interesting interaction I just had with this firm. We are looking for a new CPA and two minutes into a conversation with Kiak about our taxes this year I mentioned that I had done a prop 58 parent child exchange and he said I was mistaken there was no such thing as a prop 58 parent child exchange. He seemed so certain that I actually started to doubt myself and had to look it up. While I was looking up the information to confirm, he kept saying he thought I was taking about prop 13 and I was telling him that it wasn't prop 13. Once I confirmed that it was in fact Prop 58 he abruptly said they don't know about that and that he couldn't accept us as clients. I was in full agreement because any CPA that doesn't know how assets are exchanged between parents and children to avoid taxes is scary. Heads up to anyone looking to trust these guys with your taxes . read more

I'm not sure why I even bother to review ITS FG Inc. as everybody else here already gave them 5 ***** hence expressing how efficient, knowledgable, courteous & professional the team is. BUT!! I'm compelled to write a review since "Dr." Tae paid me to do it......NO...OT... ! :~) OK, all kidding aside, when searching for a reputable & professional tax preparer/EA online, I jotted down ITS but was reticent to choose them as I live ~ 40 mi. away. After careful consideration, I brace myself to obtain the initial consultation. Dr. Tae (as I call Kiak - since he's a financial wizard who 'repairs' most if not all of his customers' financial mishaps & omissions) came across as a bit arrogant to me at first but as we kept conversing, my instinct as an educated customer :~) told me my 1st. impression of him was in actuality due to the fact that Kiak exudes such confidence (along with his broad vision accompanied by his vast knowledge and experience) in his quest to assist his customers in planning for a better financial future that'll reach the ultimate best goal. Incidentally, in the end I find Kiak to be a down to earth guy, considerate, extremely helpful and caring.
