There's a building with supplies and a yard area with all the plants lined up. Everything looks super healthy. I even saw a raccoon! The little guy kept knocking over the palms. My friend Kevin loves this store for plants to add to his yard and garden, so I decided to stop in and check out their selection of plants that could be used as house or indoor plants. I love that most every one of the plants have a label on them. You can tell the size of the container, the type of plant you are looking at, as well as the price point and a UPC label so it can be rang up quickly at the register. The guy working there was really nice and talkative. Love their customer service. They also have a "garden" section where you can pick up annual or perennials. Really nice store with a parking lot that is easy to get in/out. read more

Small garden with just the right amount of beautiful plants . I was looking for the mother daughter croton but did not find it however they said they could order one for me. I found pots , dirt, fertilisers , vermiculite , perlite as well as a few other potting mixes all at fair prices . I love cactus but I only want the rare kind, they had a lot . I love Gardenworks. It is a great way to support local and still get a wide variety at an affordable price. Whenever I look at something to purchase at Lowes or Home Depot I always like to compare at Gardenworks and the price is usually comparable or more affordable! They also have a loyalty card so you can get more for your money. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I was quoted $2,000 on landscaping for my front yard so I decided to do it myself. I was able to get everything from the lining, stakes to put down the lining, stones, and plants all in the same day. We don't have a truck so the staff helped up load up several bags of stones into our trunk. Whenever I need to get mulch, soil, or plants, I always like to look at Gardenwork's selection. It is conveniently located on Oakland Park Blvd. Once you start walking around it is much bigger than it seems from the outside. Great selection! read more

A plant nursery in Oakland Park. Stopped by here to pick up a gift for a friend's birthday. Plants are THE gifts for this year so I did a quick search and discovered GARDENWORKS was a short drive from her place. This plant nursery is on the smaller side than what I'm used to but it has more than enough plants. It didn't have much of what I was looking for as far as indoor plants but I was still able to find a beautiful calathea plant for my friend. I also wish they had more planters and pots to choose from. They only had a variety of terra-cotta ones and then huge ceramic pots. None really for the plant I gifted which was in a 6". This place is a good one to just pop by and see what they've got. Worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

TLDR: Great plant selection, helpful staff and great prices ___ After visiting the big box stores for plants, I decided to stop in here to see their selection and I was blown away that not only did they have a better selection but the prices were comparable and in most cases BETTER. Plus, you're shopping local! I ended up getting a few things for the front of my house. I've been working on the yard while on quarantine - it's a great workout and it's beautifying and giving my house curb appeal. I went with a few low shrubs and a hanging plant. My gf also got a reallllly nice rattlesnake plant for her house. It's gorgeous and I kind of wanted to get one for my house as well. I'll be back soon as I need a few indoor plants. They have an awesome selection. From palm trees to shrubs, indoor plants to flowers and plenty of fruit trees. Plus some nice planters (these are a bit pricy, just FYI, but they are so much nicer than the ones at the big box stores). The staff was super helpful and answered my questions about how certain plants would look full grown. This made my decision much easier! read more

We have driven by this place many times but it was always late in the evening when they were closed. We happened to be in the area and saw that it was open so we stopped. We were greeted as we walked in and asked if we needed help, which at that moment, we didn't. As we walked around the nursery, we were amazed at how healthy the plants looked. My husband found what he had been looking for along with other plants that he decided to get because they just looked really nice. After our plants were rung up, one of the guys pulled the cart which was filled with plants to our truck & started loading everything into the truck bed. We were impressed with the nursery and the friendly staff! I wish this were closer to our house! read more

depends on how they handle the rest of my experience. So far not so good. I will check back after I review with management and I check into the hotel.If they pickup from car rental drop off until 9pm then why would the receptionist tell me at 8:49 the driver is on break until after 9 so we have to shuttle back to the airport for pickup. She then hung up while I was in mid question to ask if we need to call from the airport. I called back to ask and she said no but when I asked again to clarify she said yes. We are awaiting a ride share pickup as I cannot get a clear answer and she is horrible at communicating. If you have pickup until 9pm the fact that the driver is on a break should have no bearing on us being picked up within the advertised hours read more

I was on the hunt for succulents and decided to venture out to Fort Lauderdale to find some more to add to my growing collection. I called this store and asked if they sell succulents, the answer I got was "yes" then I asked, do you have a large selection? The answer was also a "yes." I was so excited to see what I would find. Much to my surprise, they had MAYBE 5 different types and all were the most common kinds you can find in any Home Depot or Lowe's. Just one little display. Drove all this way and I was in and out in less than two minutes. Why lie???? They could have said "we have 5 varieties"... but no. Next time, be honest with potential customers. read more

I've driven by this place many many times but never stopped in until I needed to find a more exotic Orchid than the dendrobiums that Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Lowe's sell. I called them first to ask what orchids they have and they said they had vandas as well as dendrobiums and phalaenopsis. When I got there they had hanging six or seven vanda orchids in all different colors. I purchased one and looked around. the inside is small but then they have another outside area as well. The manager or owner not sure who he was, was very helpful with telling me how to take care of the Orchid. I paid for my orchid on a Friday and told them I'd pick it on Sunday morning. When I arrived on Sunday all the other Vanda orchids were gone and the manager said that a man had come in and tried to purchase the one I had already purchased. I appreciate that they honored my sale. My friend who I bought the Orchid for loves it. Look forward to going there again to purchase orchids. read more

My favorite local garden center and it's open during quarantine! It's a great time to do some work in your yard since we have no where to go and little to do and the rains are coming! Yesterday we bought and planted some Clusia to screen our house from the street along with some Lantana to accent our steps. Today it was more Lantana. We have bought tons of plants here. This place has great quality and selection and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend this place! read more

I went to this nursery a few times and have always had a good experience except the last two days. Rosemarie always takes great care of me. Yesterday, the cashier Keith, was very rude barking at me to put on a mask which I was in the process of doing because it had fallen off since the string had broken. He clearly has no manners. The word "please" is not in his lexicon Today, he literally screamed at me because I tapped the screen for Apple Pay like I do everywhere. " Don't break my $3000 machine ". He could have just said that nicely. The altercation was upsetting. The owner came out and tried to make it right but the cashier just kept going and screaming at me. This will be the last time I shop here. I get better service at Home Depot and pay less for the plants. read more

Love Gardenworks! I moved from Miami and Homestead was a hop and a skip away to getting bargain plants at local nurseries. Gardenworks is my go to in East Broward. I have ventured out to a few around Fort Lauderdale and surrounding east and no one is as fair as this place. I am obsessed with plants! They truly have a beautiful selection of plants both indoor and outdoor. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Clean nursery and plants are very well taken care of. It always breaks my heart when I see dead plants at Lowes or Home Depot. I'd rather invest in these smaller nurseries when I get a chance. I am a frequent plant buyer and trust me I don't give just anyone 5 stars! You have to blow me away. They also have trees, shrubs and hedges! I wish their pottery was a little less priced but, hey to each their own! Not the cheapest but, fair for the area and lord knows East Broward is not for cheap. Ask them if they have any specials running and join their Gardenworks club. The more you go, the more you will be rewarded! I have to share this experience for everyone to read. I fell in love with a yellow and orange rose bush that was on sale but apparently it was already sold. I was super sad. I got a phone call a few days later from GardenWorks saying that there was another one in, if I'd like to pick it up they would hold it for me. The most amazing part About this story is they did not know my name and they didn't have any information on me, all they had was the memory that I wanted a rosebush like that and looked up my transaction so they could call me back because I am a member. Great place to grab plants in Fort Lauderdale or Oakland park that you've probably never noticed. Almost the same prices as Home Depot but way healthier plants. Everyone there has always been helpful which is worth its weight instead going to Home Depot or lowes. Good luck having anyone at those places giving you good plant advice. I love this local east side nursery . Great selection and plants are healthy . Prices might be slightly higher than Home Depot but quality is much better . They have a beautiful selection of orchids too. Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable . I have always enjoyed shopping here. He has a great variety of plants and someone is available to help you. What he does not have in stock he will obtain from the growers. The men planting my palm trees were knowledgeable and friendly. They offered care advice as well as placement. While he may not be the cheapest, the staff went out of their way to make me welcome and answer questions. I do agree the owner is not the friendliest but the staff makes up for it. read more

BEST nursery on the east side of town. Someone compared it to the nurseries out west and that's really not fair. The prices are going to be a bit more than out west and that can easily be justified just by rent/ lease alone! I have found their prices to be quiet fair, milkweed is $1 cheaper than out west, and best of all THEY DONT USE PESTICIDE ON THE Milkweed! read more
