Bamboo and Orchid Gardens is truly a sanctuary in Davie. I've been meaning to come here for a visit and finally made it out for the short-lived residency of Ren Coffee. They did have an overwhelming response to them coming here so it was packed and parking was a bit hectic. After finding a spot, I walked in and immediately felt at peace. I was really excited to go there, I had looked online and on their socials, iit seemed like such a cool place. However, when we arrived, the vibe felt a bit off. I wasn't able to find anyone to help me except the man working with the bamboo. I had a few orchid questions, and while he tried to refer me to someone else, she was speaking in Spanish and said she couldn't assist me. There were also fake yellow flowers throughout the space, which made it feel a bit cheap. If you like cats, you'll probably enjoy all the stray cats around, but if you're allergic, you may have issues, even though it's outdoors. They were everywhere and on everything. I was planning to buy a few baskets, but I honestly felt like I was bothering them just by being there. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything and got what I needed from Home Depot for much less. Maybe it was just an off day. read more

We went to visit a new coffee place located inside Bamboo and Orchid Gardens. The coffee was okay, not bad, I wouldn't miss it, but the price was lower than other coffee places. The real winner was the Bamboo and Orchid Gardens. If you appreciate nature and being around trees and flowers, please make time to visit this place at least once. They have a wide variety of orchid flowers and have plenty of places to sit and enjoy the nature while you enjoy small food and coffee. The owners were pleasant. The husband showed us around the koi fish pond and upstairs wooden pavilions. They also offer wedding events or other birthday celebrations. Reach out to speak to them about pricing. The parking situation is a bit tricky. It has to be parallel parked along the canal, which can make some people feel a bit uneasy. But because the experience is so worth it, please still try this place out anyways. This place is SUCH a hidden gem. I saw all over social media that a really good matcha shop "Ren" just relocated here so we wanted to check it out as a family. We followed the GPS and pulling in its one small bidirectional dirt road you have to yield to oncoming. Once you park someone will direct you where on the dirt road to park and you walk up. The place itself is GORGOUS like a vacation in the jungle. Cats all over, a quiet tiki and many lounge chairs. The cafe in front sells smoothies and coconuts (my coconut was luke warm so ended up tossing but besides that) everything outside was so beautiful and photo worthy/relaxing. Orchids all over, koi pond, exotic plants etc. Even see saws and soccer nets/connect 4 for the kids. As we walked up to the new coffee stand crowds of families were leaving empty handed. It's Easter so we knew it would be packed. My husband waited 2 hours which normally is INSANE but the matcha and coffee was 10000/10 so I say it's worth it. 30$ for 2 drinks and a avo toast with was delish! Will be back but once the hype slows down so we don't wait 2 hours but I love this place it's such a gem!!!! read more

I visit this garden from time to time, mainly to pick up a few orchids (my favorite) and to enjoy a peaceful walk to clear my head. The garden is beautiful, with several cozy nooks with chairs where you can sit and take in the sights and sounds of birds chirping. If you're looking for orchid plants, this is the place! They have a wide variety, from vibrant colors to options in pots or even air grown ones. Besides orchids, they also have a selection of other plants, flowers, ornamental items, vases, and pottery. Prices are reasonable for most items, I suppose it's based on the type of plant, what's in season, size etc. The garden is well kept, the pathways are clean and never cluttered, and you'll often times see the gardeners watering the plans or rearranging things around to make it more appealing. One of the most beautiful parts of the garden is located near the maintenance area on the right side, there's a large koi pond filled with beautiful fish swimming up and down the little stream. It's definitely worth a visit if you're exploring the garden. Every now and then, you'll spot a few cats wondering around, greeting visitors. If you're lucky enough to become friends with one, they might even follow you as you explore the grounds to pick up your items. One thing I've always noticed is that the staff aren't particularly friendly. Despite my visits, I've noticed that when entering the garden or passing through the storefront (where they tend to always be), no one seems to greet you or make an effort to engage. It feels like they're uninterested in whether you're there to shop, looking for something specific, or just browsing. This is a great place to buy Orchids and other plants with a super sweet sales staff. Family owned and operated with a great variety of everything from home landscaping to buying brightly colored pots, which you can fill yourself. I stopped in to inquire about a backyard landscaping job and ended up leaving with a car full of plants and a purchase order for a dump truck full of landscape rocks to be delivered and installed next week. The owner was super helpful in determining how much I would need, and then she answered a few more questions. I loved the selection of Orchids and other low-maintenance plants. The plants were much healthier than the big box store and even lower in price. I will definitely be back with more ideas for other landscaping at my house. read more

A super cute nursery offering mainly orchids. The place is very sweetly set out, with walkways, places to sit, outdoor toilets, arches, fountains, and even a koi pond. I do believe that they offer this place for wedding venues - which I would imagine would be magical. Definitely worthy of a visit if you are in Davie (it is also right near Flamingo Nursery - so you could visit to at the same time, see my other review for that!) I sent the owners a message asking for a few indoor plants for my sister's birthday gift. I explained that I live across the country and needed help with selection and delivery. Mark sent photos over to give me some options and within a few hours had them delivered to my sister's home. The plants were in excellent condition and well established. My husband bought me orchids from here for Mother's Day & said that I would love this place. So here we are. I've seen this place from Flamingo Road as we would drive past but never realized how amaaaazzzing this place was! There are 2 entrances. The first one takes you past some houses and you drive for a bit wondering where you're going. The second one takes you over a really old wooden bridge that you hope doesn't collapse on you. Lol. It's a one way bridge so you have to give way to whomever is on the bridge first. The front looks like a tropical paradise and looks like you could possibly hold events here. There are different areas where you can sit under an umbrella. There are TONS of orchids and succulents in the greenhouse area and there were some orchids that I've never seen before. My husband said that the tables were completely filled with orchids for Mother's Day. They had tall bamboos outside of the greenhouse area which can make a nice landscape fence. They had coleus which we really tall! I was amazed as I've never seen them as tall as they were. All the staff that we came into contact with were so friendly. My husband & I were looking at a plant & we wondered aloud what type of plant it was. An employee was walking past with a customer (which we didn't realize) and stopped to tell us what it was. When we brought our plants up to the register, they offered to repot our orchid in the marble planter that we bought. I'm happy that my husband brought me here! read more

I've been driving by this place for years, I see it every time I go to the Buddhist temple or Flamingo road nursery. I had dropped by Flamingo road nursery to ask some questions about rehabilitating a couple of orchids. When I left the big sign "Orchid" gardens, which was just down the street from Flamingo caught my eyes. I didn't know what to expect as this place was hidden for heavy vegetation and trees, all you can really see from the road is the large sign. The minute I entered this place I was blown away, I saw man-made ponds, waterfalls, small picturesque bridges, leisure areas, many shaded areas, thatched hut areas, and gazebos. They were actually preparing for a wedding when I had arrived. The orchids and plants they were selling were equally as impressive. The prices were great too, I thought you could only find orchid prices like this in Homestead. I saw this one dude at the cash register who looked like Brian Bosworth, I wanted to avoid this dude and walked around to see if I could find anyone else to ask the orchid questions. But I didn't find anyone else, at least no one who looked like they worked there. So I went to the Brian Bosworth look-a-like. The minute I walked up to this dude I just saw in my mind's eye this dude saying, "If you don't like America, you can leave". But this dude was anything but a Freedom-loving, God-fearing, and Gun-Loving American. Dude was actually Canadian from my home city of Toronto Canada, I couldn't believe it. Anyway, dude was cool as a breeze, and told me some really good pointers, and advice on how to replant and rehabilitate my orchids. Flamingo Road Nursery had one woman who gave me some advice but compared to this dude she was very limited in her knowledge, but they don't grow orchids at Flamingo road nursery, they actually resell them from places like Bamboo Orchids. When I was leaving I also struck up a conversation with a very attractive Lithuanian woman, we had an incredible conversation for about 30 minutes. I also had to disclose to her my second home Europe Gourmet which she was not aware of. read more

I must have passed this place a 100 times when I took a trip to Flamingo Road Nursery or Flamingo Gardens. For some reason when I passed by today I finally decided to stop and I was so glad I did. It takes a bit of determination to get in. You can cross a really rickety looking bridge or enter in on 20th Street which requires you to drive down a dirt road. One you arrive prepare to be wowed. A garden wonderland awaits inside the gates. They have a lovely bar and dance floor area for people to book parties. Just past the event area is the nursery. I was amazed by the sheer numbers of orchids they had. I thought Fairchild Tropical Gardens had the largest assortment of orchids in South Florida but they had some here that I have never seen before. You can have them hanging, in pots, in bloom, or ready to bloom. The friendly lady who works there took me on a tour. I ended up buying a $5 orchid that is ready to bloom. For my paltry payment she even divided it into two different pots for me and fertilized it! I was so tempted to buy one of their amazing hanging orchids for $25. They also had a wide variety of $12 and 2 for $20 orchids in bloom. In addition to the orchids they sell other plants, fruit trees, and bamboo. Their prices are wonderful and the staff is super friendly. The lady who helped me told me that this would not be my last visit and I think she is right. Came here as I heard they had great orchids. What I didn't know is that they have two locations so as I was heading here I stopped when I saw the orchid sale signs. Which lead me down the road to their other location. The orchid selection was fair but they had a great agave plant selection as well as some ground covering plants that I love. They have a red chenille fur and they only had four so I took what they had. Definitely will come back with my hubby's truck for the agave plant when I know I can get my landscaper to plant it next time they are scheduled to come to my home. If you're into orchids, this is the place to go. The Bamboo and Orchid Gardens have plenty of orchids in different sizes and colors - I didn't know they came so small! To keep your orchids looking their best, there is a section for different pots and containers to choose from. There is also a small gallery to view as well. They also have plants and materials for a hanging garden. It seems that the Bamboo and Orchid Gardens might be a place to host events as they have a bar and stage area, as well as an open area for seating with a patio strung with lights! This garden can be a little hard to find but if you spot a Panda, you're almost there! You will start a path on dirt roads and have to go further down to reach the gardens. This is a wonderful place to purchase orchids. They have every color and size you can imagine. I love how they are arranged. It really gives you an idea of how you can mix and match them. These orchids are really high quality and not expensive. I bought a couple of them for my patio. I was impressed with the guidance I received from an employee. I have not had good luck keeping an orchid alive for more than two weeks in the past. I think I know a lot more now thanks to the helpful employee. I wish I asked for hed name. It is a little tricky to actually enter this business. You must cross a dirt road. It is worth it when you finally arrive. read more

Strange approach: over a ditch on a wooden bridge, down a narrow gravel path. No parking lot. Sign says park along the canal. Canal? No, it's a ditch! Follow the walkway through several foliage surrounded areas with seating. Looks like a wedding venue or something. Finally reach the orchids. Many unusual varieties here. Unfortunately, a lot of them were not in bloom so unless you're an expert, it's hard to know which to buy. One employee. But she was extremely helpful and did an excellent job of repotting the plant I chose into a hanging wood basket. read more

We really got involved in some heavy landscaping projects during lockdown. Spending hours outside in the delightful weather made us realize that after 15 years here, we probably should spruce up a little! Upon arrival the first visit, I saw a sign that said you could rent the space for weddings or parties and I immediately thought "Why"? Lol! But once inside this pretty magical place I saw why. It would be an amazing backdrop for any event. You have to see to believe. My husband wanted a specific type of bamboo that is apparently rather rare. This was the only place we could find it. We started out looking at 8 gallon buckets of it (and we bought about a dozen of those) but then we saw this huge mature specimen, about 30 feet tall and hundreds of pounds. We knew right away that we had the perfect place for it and it would be a nice focal point. Do it up right, huh? We love it! The family that owns the nursery is fantastic and helpful and everything you could hope for as far as getting advice. The plants (of all types) that they offer are of outstanding quality. I really love giving 5 star reviews and I struggled a bit with this. But I had to take one star off and here's why: Obviously we had to have this huge thing delivered and planted because there is no way 2 amateurs like us are equipped for that. The plant itself was $750 and delivery was $300. For that price, I want to have complete faith that it was planted correctly. Only it was not. Less than a week after planting, and having followed the care instructions to a T, this thing was fading fast. My husband called and spoke to the owner (Mark, a great guy!) and after speaking/following Mark's instructions while on the phone to show video, Mark was able to see there were many air pockets under the planting. (He wanted the garden hose stuck in at various points and it sunk right into the ground, in some places for a foot or more!) He instructed us on how to fix it and how to revive this thing which so far up to this point (a month after planting) seems to have worked. Fingers crossed. But really we should not have had to deal with any of that because we entrusted planting to professionals. Anyway, no hard feelings and everyone involved was great. Because of the expense involved and only because through our efforts and diligence was the plant saved, I had to deduct a star. read more

So I often go to Flamingo Road Nursery and decided to venture out one day. Bamboo and Orchid Gardens is literally so close by to Flamingo road so I went. I was really surprised by just how big the nursery is! They have a large assortment and variety of plants which I really enjoyed, at extremely good prices! Definitely worth coming here! I'm not entirely sure why bamboo is part of their name as it really wasn't much of a focus there, although they did have for sale. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because of the awkward (and dangerous) way to get into the nursery, passing a one lane suspicious wooden bridge thats used for both the entrance and the exit. The other entrance/exit is another one lane dirt road. Overall, really loved coming here and look forward to going back again and again!! read more
