By then, I had wasted half my day, two unnecessary trips, and my own gas because of their complete lack of communication and coordination. No patient should have to deal with this level of disorganization. My time has value, and I fully expect the doctor to pay the invoice I submitted for the time, mileage, and inconvenience caused by their repeated mistakes. This office needs serious internal fixes before more patients are affected.

Did the same simple stroke physical exam that was already done 5 times, then said we need to get a head MRI. I replies I had already had an MRI of my head which sent me to the er. I also told him I had had 4 CT scans of my brain and neck. He said he would reveiw my file and be right back to me. 2 hours later, still nothing. Nurses could not find him or contact him by phone for over an hour. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The doctor had obviously not even reviewed my file after 24 hours in the ER for a serious stroke. IS THIS THE DOCTOR YOU WANT TO SEE??? I think not.

Finally called insurance and the office on a three-way call only for Alex to tell my insurance company that the reason they will not take my insurance is because the insurance company has not paid them in the past. So it had nothing to do with my insurance not covering it, my insurance explained to him that he needed to take that up with provider services, and not take it out on the patients. then I tried to call to speak with an office manager to explain that I did not appreciate being lied to by their employee, and that my insurance does cover the sleep study. I then found out that he actually never even called my insurance, to get any of the information he just assumed that they would not pay even though they are contracted with them. It does not matter how wonderful the doctor is if his office staff is this miserable and awful it makes for the entire office to be awful. NOT it ruined my life! My back teeth rotted and caused Ludwig's disease and I had to be life flighted to Jax for emergency surgery because my throat was closing from infection!! I told him for a year I didn't want to take that medicine it made me sick. Then I got a DUI because I got in wreak and was ON SUBOXONE! a year in women's rehab when I wasn't an addict!!!! I cried all the way to the dr every time I had to go I hated him. My family hated him too. He said he would go to court and help me but did NOTHING TO HELP ME. I will be pursuing legal advice for sure. If you need pain meds don't go here he will out you in it TOO! He is a monster. Even though I didn't get to see the Dr., I still felt it was important to write this review as a physician's office staff is also greatly important to a patient's care. I called on Monday to try and make an appointment. I followed the prompts for a new patient wanting to make an appointment and left a message, giving them the information they wanted and a short history of my symptoms and medical history. By late morning Wednesday, I had not heard back yet and decided to call again repeating the same scenario. By Friday morning I still had not heard back from the office. I called again and chose a different prompt so I could speak with someone. I was very courteous; I understand that offices can get busy, maybe the scheduler had been sick or on vacation, etc. After sharing with the woman who answered the phone that I was wanting to make an appointment but hadn't been able to, she asked to put me on hold. 5 mins later, another woman answered and asked how she could help. I shared the name of the woman who was already helping me and she said, I know, she asked me to help you. So, I asked her if I could make an appointment. She said she couldn't do that, but took my last name and let me know that the scheduler would get back to me. She didn't know when that would be and we ended the call. 5.5 hours later I finally got a call from the scheduler only for her to say that they don't see patients who have previously been in a car accident. I thought maybe she confused me with someone else. I was not in a recent accident, there was no lawsuit or workman's comp case so I shared again that it was a closed thing and it happened over 4 years ago. She repeated, "it's our office policy that we don't see patients who have been in any car accident no matter when." When I said "OK. Do you mind me asking why? I've just never heard of this." She said "sure, it's just our policy." She had this information for a week. A week longer I now have to wait to seek treatment. I'm most frustrated with how discourteous they were and unapologetic for their lack of care and waste of my time and efforts. I'm also dumbfounded on this policy of not treating patients who have, at one point in their medical history, been in a car accident. It's not a recent injury with possibility of lawsuit or workman's comp, so what do they care? I would bet that a good majority of their clients have a physical trauma of some sort in their patient history. This boarders on discrimination and speaks volumes of this office to me and the care I am seeking. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.

This is fantastic facility and is very secure so be prepared to go through a Magnetometer and have you photo taken and a badge assigned to you before proceeding to conduct your business. There is some ongoing construction going on to expand this facility's capacity but it's contained and didn't affect entering or exiting the property however getting here can be a little challenging with all the traffic in the area. The staff here was really friendly and accommodating and I found the layout of this hospital to be very user friendly with good signage throughout. We found our way to our friend's room without any assistance and had a wonderful visit. I was told the level of care has been amazing and attentive, so we all have high expectations that the results will match the staff's professionalism and competency - I'm sure I'll return a few more times in the next few weeks to check on my buddy but it's reassuring knowing he is receiving the best care possible...

It hadn't been easy finding another primary care practice within the Advent system, but we had. We had found a physician we really liked in a very good family practice group located in the medical offices of the Advent Health Daytona Beach hospital. We felt we were being well cared for there, until we suddenly weren't. At our last routine office visits we were told when we checked out that the practice, of four physicians, was being closed! We had been scheduled well ahead for our upcoming routine office visits and of course those visits were cancelled. What we received was a cryptic form letter with the names of four nurse practitioners in case we were in need of future care. While we don't mind being seen by a nurse practitioner occasionally, and preferably for a specific problem, we want to be seen by an MD for our regular ongoing care. A bit shocked by this sudden and unexpected news and disappointed that we had not been told by our physician after our exams, we felt compelled to ask some pretty pointed questions. Our inquiries were met with what we felt were believable answers. The practice closure appears to have been a management decision and it had been decided that the physicians were not to personally impart this news to patients directly. Instead, that unwelcome news was shifted to the clerical staff, which frankly seemed to us to be quite unfair. Our two previous physicians, who had also left the Advent system, had given us the courtesy of personally sharing the unpleasant news of our needing to find a new doctor, so we asked why this time we hadn't been afforded this courtesy. It apparently wasn't our physician's choice, it was a directive. (But by whom?) A perusal of the current Advent Health website of primary care MD's accepting new patients shows we've pretty much been left with very few, if any, choices. And, the unwelcome result is that our scheduled routine medical care is also set back by months and neither of us is "Feeling Whole" as advertised.
