I went in to buy an engagement ring, and as a guy I can assure you that I had no idea what I was doing. The ladies at Garfields helped to educate me as to what to look for in a quality diamond. Great experience having a ring sized. Amazing 1 day turn around time. I dropped it off on a Friday and was told it may be a Tuesday pick up as they are closed Sundays and Mondays, but received a call it was ready on Saturday. The price was reasonable. Less than a year ago I walked into Garfield's Jewelry to have a stone replaced and my weddings rings refurbished. They advised me to have them completely remade by their jeweler and not just refurbished so I did. At the end of January 2019 I picked up my new rings and was ecstatic. Fast forward to September 2019. One of the side diamonds of my newly built rings fell out. Upon closer inspection, two of the prongs holding the stone were broken off. I immediately took the ring back to Garfields and they said that it was a good thing I came in because one of the prongs holding the largest diamond was about to break as well so I was about to lose that stone. As a side note, please know that I rarely wear my wedding rings. I teach swimming lessons daily and don't want the pool chemicals to have any adverse effects. I assumed when I went back to Garfield's with the broken rings that there would be some type of guarantee on their own products and that they would at least replace/fix the broken ring at no charge. No such thing happened. To begin with they blamed me for putting the ring into "something toxic" and then they quoted me not only for a new price for the stone but an additional cost for the jeweler to replace all the prongs. They strongly recommended that I replace all of the newly built prongs since they appeared compromised. What type of reputable business does not guarantee their own craftsmanship at least for a year? To say I was astonished would be putting it mildly. I spent a fair amount of money at this establishment and they didn't even care. After the poor treatment I received from Garfields, I took the ring to another local Charleston jeweler and asked their opinion on the matter. They said that though there was no hard and official rule, any respectable jeweler should guarantee their work especially after such a short period of time. I will never return to this place of business again. Please know that this is my first ever Yelp review, positive or negative, so before I wrote this I truly thought it through. Since I have no other recourse to recoup any of the money I spent for a useless ring, I hope you will think twice about using Garfield's in the future. read more

Amazing selection and great prices! The sales staff is so friendly, much unlike most jewelry stores in the West Ashley area. Even with my small budget, they were very attentive and kind. When I came back the next two days in a row to decide between two rings, Brenda was very patient with me and made me feel valued as a customer. She even set them aside while I chewed on my decision overnight (twice!) I had a wonderful and comfortable experience because of her, it felt more like she was a family friend rather than a sales associate. She threw in engraving for free and really worked with me on what I wanted and was in my budget. I love my beautiful, unique wedding band and how special she made it for me, I couldn't be any more pleased with this experience. I went to this jewelry store one morning to have some links removed from my watch band. I arrived early and realized the store was not yet open. A nice lady came out of the store and asked if I was there to drop something off or pick something up. I told her I realized when I looked at the sign on the door that I was early. She asked what I needed and I told her that I simply needed to have two links removed from my watch. She told me that while she couldn't let me in the store yet, the jeweler was in and she took my watch. A few minutes later she came back with my watch and loose links, I paid her, and I was on my way. What great customer service!!! read more
