Hit up Garfield Tattoo for a piece to remember my Mom by since her passing. I was lucky enough to have James do a tattoo for me. The shop vibe was really cool with several people getting tattoo'd. My favorite part of the process was having the other artists walk by and compliment the work James was doing. First thing I did when he was done was send a picture of my new tattoo to my siblings. James Salkeld did my nephews tattoo on the neck earlier this month. Went back 2 weeks later to get a touch up, artist claims the tattoo is still red but it was already healed. Called the shop yesterday & it sounded like James answered. Asked for him by name then claims not in for the day. Person who answered says they'll take my info down for artist to call back. Didn't take anything down & hung up. I'm not sure if this guy has a problem with us race wise or because my nephew is disabled. My nephew has cerebral palsy & was able to sit there while getting his tattoo. I don't know what Jame's problem is with someone with disabilities but I do hope in the future that the shop is more welcoming to anyone regardless if they have a disability or not. Fortunately, Greg @Garfield Street Tattoo was wonderful and made sure that not only was my tattoo completed, it was impeccably done. got a tattoo here environment was alright, beautiful art on the walls. The tattooer who used to be at self expressions did a flash tattoo for me and he was nice enough at first kind of awkward but I knew he previously fucked up a tattoo at the old shop so I was nervous. Took a little longer than usual to sanitize his station but that's not anything too bad would rather my artist double checks everything. Not to mention he plays around with time and talks A LOT to everyone else but you. A lack of concern for your time on his part. Buuut I noticed pretty early on his breath smelt AWFUL!! id assume if you need to clean your station so throughly that you can at least do the same with your mouth. Not only that but golly did his crack hang out! How do you not feel the breeze bud? But as for the tattoo... it looks pretty solid at a first glance but looking at it closer there's shakey linework, some lines not touching. With ample experience like he has this shouldn't be an issue. Also do NOT leave the first saniderm on for more than 24 hours, take it off, clean it, and THEN you can put another one on and leave it for longer. But regardless I don't think I'd return unless i Went to the nice lady in the corner. Even then I don't think I want to see grown man butt crack. MAKE SURE YALL DO YOUR RESEARCH AND LOOK AT AN ARTISTS WORK BEFORE YOU LET THEM PUT INK ON YOUR SKIN!! read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO THIS SHOP Firstly this is a different shop owner , the previous owner took all the other artists and moved up the street it is not that hard maybe 5min away Just go to this shop THE NEW SHOP OWNER IS HORRIBLE his name is Richard. his work may see okay , but he definitely leaves really bad tattoo scarring & that lasts forever. I really really recommend just going to the original Garfield tattoo shop thats right up the street this guy also over charges for his poor hand work. he's also the type of tattoo artist who if you bring him something you want, and he knows it's too much for him and he doesn't have the skills to do it instead of referring you to someone who can he will either attempt to do it and fuck up or try to persuade you into doing something else that's more simple for him. I had my forearm tattooed by Lennie last month. He was very friendly and worked with me to include what I wanted and the style I wanted, while still inserting some of his own artistic touch. He was gentle handed, which I appreciated after some previous artists I have experienced. The colors held very well and look amazing. The piece turned out exactly how I wanted and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be going back for any future pieces. The shop was also comfortable and clean. He opened new needles in front of me and used new cups for the ink to protect sanitary conditions. read more

Great shop, better artist. Called and inquired about getting a tattoo done and Danny drew up exactly what I had in mind and I was in the shop the next day. I have a high pain tolerance, so the tattoo was almost nearly painless (had it done on the inside of my right elbow) it's been 3 days now, and the tattoo is almost completely healed and sealed, and it held all of its colors and lines. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work for a fair price. Be sure to ask for Danny. read more

I went in today to get a dermal removed and walked out without it being removed. Their were a few red flags flags that scared me off. 1. It took the girl working awhile to notice me because she was too busy chatting 2. It was dirty! I expected it to be clean an sterile but it was so dirty it scared me off 3. The piercer did not keep the tools on hand which made me nervous and question how busy he was. If he doesn't keep the tools on hand he must not be very busy. I wanted to get an industrial piercing done. I had scheduled two appointments with Danny last month. He ended up not showing up for both. For one of the appoinments I waited in my hot car for 15 mts just to see if he would arrive. Waste of my gas and time. read more

Danny was super nice I was wanting an industrial done on a whim and was a bit disappointed to find I could not because my ear was not an ideal shape for it but with some brain storming from me and Danny we were able to do it on an angle the bar tilted just past my helix piercing. I've been pierced multiple times, my nose, brow, helix, snakebites etc and I've been told this is one of the rougher piercings on pain and healing, I didn't feel a thing and it's been a week and I have to remind myself to baby it because I don't feel anything and forget it's there. I've even slept on it accidently with zero problems. I think this has to do with how Danny pierced it it looks great and feels like I'll be coming back for some ink and more piercings for sure! read more

Lacie did my tattoos and I was blown away! She does amazing work! The rose she tattooed on me just blew my mind! I came on the night of $20 Tuesday, which is a really amazing deal! Lacie talked to me about what I wanted and I showed her what I had in mind. The rose I wanted was about 3x3 in the picture and had a lot of detail. I wanted it on my wrist and about 2x2. I have been a long time customer and have gotten almost all my tattoos from this establishment and in past history I have even recommended it to others. That is until I recently got my last tattoo from the co-owner Greg, the appointment started out as normal and I had no complaints until Greg began talking about his avid respect for Donald Trump and making disparaging comments about the Black Lives Matter movement ( he also said a lot of other inappropriate things but that would make this review even longer) which understandably made me very uncomfortable. Because of this I obviously plan to longer go there and feel compelled to at least inform others so that they may take this into consideration before they decide to go here. I showed the tattoo artist a picture of what I wanted she drew up her design, I checked it it was good nothing wrong with it, I was excited for my first tattoo, and thought I was going to a professional shop with a professional artist, sadly she did not keep to the design she drew and my one and only tattoo has a fatal flaw. The weave of a celtic knot that represents infinity is never supposed to stop. An supposed artist named Tristain did a very simple tattoo on my forearm. After it healed I realized "my bad" I didn't like what I got. So I went back asked if we could either add to it or transform it. He said yes. We made an appointment and I had to leave a deposit. Which by the way I was told that was refundable as long as I gave enough notice if I needed to cancle. I made it to the appointment as scheduled. But he said he couldn't at that time do what I was asking for. We then made another appointment. I had him fix the date on the receipt slip for the deposit. Then out of my kindness I gave him $20 as a tip. Even though he didn't do anything that day. When the appointment time came I got a hold of him several hours before it was scheduled and wanted to cancel and asked if I could come by and get the deposit back. He refused and said and I Quote "the deposit is for my time its not refundable because I denied work for our appointment, and that is was for his time and drawings." Let me tell you he never made any drawings all he did was take a picture of the first tat cut a piece and print that and he never spent any extra time. I paid for the first tattoo and tipped him very well. Yeah it was only $40 deposit but the fact is that he said it was refundable from the start. Now I'm sure that the other artists are good as a matter of fact I did see a few of them do some very nice tattoos. If you go just make sure you don't get the same person I got. read more

A friend who had several portraits and mandalas done by Elijah recommended him to me and I'm glad to have found him. Elijah worked with me extensively to get my tattoo right for both of us and when the time came his work was precise, quick, and he has a super light touch. Elijah does a lot of designs and sacred geometry but his portraits are flawless photorealism, his lettering is intricate--he's great. Highly recommended. read more
