This place had every type of beer you could want - Bell's Two Hearted, 3 Floyds, Lakefront you name it, they got it - including Holiday packs - for the same price at Binny's. They also carry nice wines and liquors at reasonable price. A few days after that, I went over to the hardware store to get a tank propane for my gas grill. They told me they had just sold the last tank, but recommended I try Mos. I had no idea they sold propane. I was able to pick a tank up and cook my Christmas steaks on the grill. Wooot!

I'm not sure how Binny's manages to have such cheap prices but have the best staff you can get in a liquor store. Staff are very nice and conversational, if you come across someone stocking the shelf and just want to get some advice on beverages they are happy to give recommendations. It's quite nice to go here when they are giving out free samples, it's a fun hour spent drinking a variety of new things and it's free. I've gone on sample day and walked out without buying anything and nobody gave me any dirty looks or anything. I like how they are happy to serve you some free drink and don't pressure you to buy, sometimes I want to be able to sleep on a decision to buy a whole bottle of something that I might seldom use in my average drinking. The store is very clean and stocked to the gills with every beverage you can imagine. Binny's truly lives up to its slogan. "If you can't find it at Binny's it's probably not worth drinking!"

Went to return and they would not take back the extras. They said it was past the 30 days date. They never told me 30 days even though I told them the date when I bought it. Worst customer service. I've…read morebeen doing the dirty around these parts for a little over a year now and it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that I finally made the trip in to what looks like some cruddy, run-down, sad-sad, liquor store in a mostly vacant and/or abandoned Palatine strip mall and I was blown away with a selection of sauces that would put a smirk on even a novice boozehound and/or liquor-pig. Shame.On.Me. I'll just say this up front, I don't know jack sh*t about wine. It's not really my thing, and I'm happy just going with whatever bottle has the best artwork and still manages to remain nominally priced. Basically, they might have a great or crappy wine selection, but I couldn't tell you. They had that Barefoot stuff, though... that's the classy one, right? Where this place shines is fo sho its beer selection. It's not huge, but they carry a lot of pretty rare stuff and a bunch of the stuff the other big box booze stores don't have. They do set limits on certain things, like maximum 2 per person on some bottle, but honestly, I'm a sucker for supply and demand so that kind of thing really excites me. Their selection is always changing and they're open later than any of the other bottled booze purveyors in this area. It's probably not a destination place, but if you're within a 12-15 minute range of here, it's worth popping over for a peak at their products.

Sometimes you go into a liquor store and it's just grim, grim, grim, with creepy lighting, dusty shelves, and cashiers that look like they want to die and they wish you were dead too. Mr. A's is the total OPPOSITE. It's clean, has a great selection of alcohol, mixers, and snacks, and yeah, I guess the lighting isn't creepy because I've never really noticed it? I typically just see two employees here, one of whom I think might be the Mr. A! He is extremely warm and friendly and always smiling. The second man is a little more reserved but always very nice and polite. There is this adorable little black dog one of them has, that's kind of the store mascot it seems. There are rather professional looking photos of him/her around the store, greeting customers and making recommendations. I think that's a nice touch. I wish the actual dog could be in the store-how awesome would it be to have a little pooch helping you make a wine selection? Only thing that would make the place better, in my opinion.

The owner is friendly and always willing to share his knowledge, helping you pick the right option in your price range. I always enjoy talking with him when I stop by. Pricing is about average and compares to the big box liquor stores like Binney's. If you are looking for something, I do recommend this Cardinal Wine and Spirit store.
