I drove almost an hour from Chicago to visit and it was absolutely worth the drive! I expected to enjoy the beer but the food ended up being the biggest surprise. I tried a beer flight along with several dishes, including the Detroit-style pie, tavern-style pie, chicken sandwich with hand-cut fries, wings and spinach artichoke dip. Everything was good, but the pies and those hand-cut fries were the standouts for me. The fries were seriously some of the best I've had at a restaurant.....thick, crispy, and clearly made fresh. The space itself is large but still feels cozy, with plenty of seating, a lounge area, board games, and a laid-back atmosphere that works for both adults and families. I also loved being able to see into the area where they brew their beer on-site. Between the food, house-brewed beer, and relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely a place I'd make the drive back to. read more

Roaring Table Brewing wasn't on my bookmark radar but was an impromptu excursion to try a beer that this brewery has to offer. The beer that we got was the Southern Tuba! which is one of the beer installments to their Tuba series it appears. This beer is a Hazy New England IPA and it proved to be a good one! Flavor features to have fun and to play with upon your tongue are citrus and a subtle dash of pineapple but in a nice even handed way and of course with the bitterness you get with any IPA. My husband and I like to stop in from time to time for a beer. They have an outdoor seating area and have food trucks on Saturday which is nice. It's a very small an outdoor seating area so it's hard to find spots when the weather is nice. It's partly due to where they're located, but other than that we like it. They have trivia during the week I think on Thursday and the beer is good and they always have seasonal drafts. They don't have any servers so if you want a beer you can sit at the bar or go up to order. I really like their wheat beer which is what I usually get when I am there. read more

We stopped in during the late afternoon and had a couple of beers. We've been here before but not for quite a few years. All is good at Roaring Table! Very tasty beer and good service. Hefeweizen was very good as was a Lambic. The part that made me especially giddy was they were clearing out some inventory and we snagged a couple of 4 packs of Holiday Romance Country Lager for half price! Great deal!! We went on a Sunday around 5:00 after seeing Roaring Table featured on the Chicago news station. The windows are tinted dark so we didn't even know if it was open. When we got in, we were looking for a hostess to seat us, but none was in sight. We sat ourselves at a high-top table with one menu there. After waiting 5 minutes for our server, I went up to the bar to ask if they could send one over to our table. The cashier/bartender said "look up." There was a sign that said "Order Here." So I called my wife over to the counter and we asked the cashier/bartender what kind of IPAs they had and he said "what do you want?" Since it was our first time there and there's a large list of beers, we didn't know, so he said he would pick one for us. He gave us a number and we went to our table waiting for our beer. A minute later my wife said he's calling us over to get our beer. We reviewed the menu and went back to the cashier and order a pizza. When no server came around to provide plates, napkins, silverware, etc., we realized we would have to get our own from the far side of the bar. Pizza was served (at least we didn't have to walk to the kitchen to get it ourselves). The pizza was very good but once we were done we had to find a box and box up our leftovers. No one to clean the table so you have to do it yourself by putting your plates and silverware in a bus tray. The whole thing seemed weird but we went with the flow. We went to settle up our bill and the CC machine asked about tip amount. So I hit zero and my wife gave me a $20 tip since I did all of the work. Great beer. Service I believe intends to be good but once it gets crowded at the counter the line grows fast as well as the wait. Put up a monitor so people can see what beer is available before getting to the counter and ordering. Every-time I went up for another round, I stood there waiting while people read a tiny font copy with the beers listed trying to figure out what to order. Also, bar tenders care way more about people at the bar than people in line Also, a lot of social media about being dog friendly but no water bowls or anything like that around. Behind the bar there is an empty wall and a bunch of tiny tap handles that all look the same. Double the taps, one bunch on each side and have handles that are unique and market the beer. If beer is tapped somewhere else, people will recognize that. Lot of small things this place could do to get to the next level. Go when it's not busy for the best experience, current set up does not support high volume. read more

My wife came across this place and informed me about it. So recently, we checked it out over on a Saturday night. When we got there it was semi-busy but there was plenty of room to sit. I liked the atmosphere and the setting of this place. They had live music going on, there was a chill-out area with board games and next to it was a small arcade room. I was looking to have a beer flight so that's what I ordered. You get four samples of the beer of your choice. Pricing varies based on what beers you choose. I can't remember the proper names of the beers I had but in short, from the left to right (in my photo), 1) a Pilsner, 2) Inessential Houses, 3) a Dunkel and a 4) a berry Sour. All were good. My favorites were the Inessential Houses and the Dunkel. The beers are brewed on-site and they are made in small batches by hand. I liked the variety that Roaring Table had to offer. I would say that they have amazing flavors of beers (the flavors rotate) and also, they have ciders, sodas, wines and snacks. This place is BYOF as in bring your own food. They have several menus from nearby restaurants but you can always get whatever you like from the place of your choice. They have some (cold) snacks on their menu (cheese curds, chips etc.). They also have beer to go and merchandise for sale (clothing and beer glassware). I really liked this place and already want to go back. I am glad my wife mentioned this place to me as I am always on the lookout for such local breweries. I would definitely recommend this place to check out. read more

I'm so excited that we started going to this place more. It's a great local hangout type of brewery for the Lake Zurich area. The inside is a lot more spacious than I thought after driving by this place many times. Lots of different types of seating available. There are so many different beer options available, I've made my way around the list a bit and can always find something that I want to take home in a can. We've only been on Saturdays, but it looks like during the week they have some other events (I keep bugging my husband to go back for bingo), so there's always something going on. They also have food trucks come in on the weekends, so this could be a solid place for dinner if you look at their socials. read more

Ok beer and cool set up for food for groups around the barrels. However, I but don't love the bar set up especially when we have had large groups with us. You have to order on the left side of the bar with one bartender that rings up the drinks, where a line normally forms and another bartender for the rest of their long bar, that spent their entire time with another small part of our group. They were all losing money/tips. You make the brewery makes the money serving right from the tap and volume equals tips. If have a large group coming in (that they knew about weeks prior) hire another bartender and/ir barback to pour beer for those hours. Plus make sure the bartender at the bar is serving the entire bar. This has happened two events we have been to. read more

I have been wanting to visit Roaring Table for a while and finally had the opportunity to do so this past weekend. I was surprised that Roaring Table is allowed inside of a strip mall, usually there is some kind of city code that prevents a brewery from being with the mainstream stores. Parking is plentiful so no worries here. Once you walk inside, you are transported to a different world and it's awesome. They have a fire place that was going, a very sleek wood bar, and an overall great atmosphere. Mike, our bartender, was excellent. I sampled a few of the beers before I settled on their Quick Bright Things, which is a New England IPA. It was hoppy but not overly so and well balanced. I really enjoyed it. Another awesome thing about this brewery is that they also serve wine, which is a huge plus as my significant other doesn't drink beer. Roaring Table also has a wide selection of board and card games and we played checkers for about an hour while relaxing and enjoying our beverages. Additionally, they also allow you to bring in your own food from local restaurants as well. Overall, Roaring Table was an awesome experience and we will definitely be back in the future. Somehow I ended up following Roaring Table on Instagram and not too long ago, inspired by boredom and pictures of hazy IPAs, got myself out there. They have a nice looking, upscale taproom and a good number of their beers on tap. I'm partial to the adorably named Flock of Beagles, myself. They don't have a full lunch/dinner menu, but they do have a nice snack menu (pretzel bites were gone in less than 5 min) or you can bring/order food in. I could easily spend a nice afternoon here with some beers, board games and maybe 5-10 orders of pretzel bites. read more

What a hidden gem!! I always shop at the Trader Joe's nearby and had never noticed it until my boyfriend took me for a date night here. Plenty of seating to enjoy as a group of 2 or with 4-6 friends. The strip mall Brewery is about as generic and average-looking of a Brewpub you will find. The bear was about as average and adequate as one confined and they have plenty of table games in the middle of the room and the bathroom stretches way into the bank the only good thing I can say is this is a unique place and beats the usual crap one finds in the strip mall read more

To be honest, I haven't been to the actual brewery....yet.  But I did attend the Barrington Brew Fest last weekend, and they were one of the breweries featured there.    I don't know what the heck it was called, but they gave out a special at 5pm, and it was SO FREAKING GOOD. It was a berry/fruity sour, with whipped cream on top. And it was awesome! I'm a new fan, and may have to drive all the way out there to try more of that delicious creamy, berry goodness. read more

My son had a great time at Roaring Table and was anxious for us to experience it as well. The location was a bit of a surprise because it's in a strip mall. Walking in, we were instantly transformed to a contemporary and comfortable tasting room. There are long picnic tables for larger groups, high tops along the windows and a long bar with stools. The beer selection was great and the server efficient and helpful. There's a small game room with old school Galaga and pinball and an area with comfortable chairs and couches. A stack of games by the fireplace provide fun while trying the different brews. We didn't have any food, but the rest of our experience was comfortable and fun. It's great to have a beer oasis like this in the suburbs and a place to enjoy different beers, play some games and kick back.
