I had a pipe break going from my aerobic septic system to my sprinklers. This is during the extreme heat wave we are going through currently. I called them on a Monday to have them come out and repair the broken pipe. They told me they would be out sometime during the week. They also told me that it would be a hand dig to find the broken pipe. I'm sure with these extremely hot days, hand digging needs to be done early mornings or late evenings. Since mine was not an emergency, any time during the week was fine with me. Jacob came out on Friday morning to find and repair the broken pipe. He was terrific! He located the break, fixed it, and was done within an hour. I am very satisfied with the service. The office and the technician were both very professional and pleasant to work with. I wil use them again. The cost is right in line with other work I've had done, by other plumbers. read more

I've been a loyal customer for 3+years and they have done a decent job. They are quick to respond. The lady that answers the phone(Brenda, I think) is very helpful and nice. However, I had a pump fixed/replaced recently and it was not done correctly. The Tech that came out afterwords confirmed that it was bad wiring that should have been replaced at the time of the initial service. The tech fixed the wiring that was already paid for on the previous service. Garrett charged us thirty dollars for the follow-up repair work that we'd already paid for during the pump repair but was not done or done incorrectly. The bill collector had the nerve to say "I wasn't inconvenienced and that it was only thirty-dollars" Garrett must be money-mongers if they could treat a loyal customer this way. Who works for who? We've had unreliable services for the past two years since starting service with them. Everyone we spoke with was very polite however, nothing changed with addressing our concerns. We were to receive services for our aerobic septic system once every 4 months. Our first visit was on time as scheduled. The second visit they were only a month late. We never called to ask about that since things can happen and they did show up. The third never occurred for 8 months. We didn't think about it until the 8th month and had to call them. They had to extend our service. Every visit after that required a reminder phone call due to it being one to two months overdue. Now we're paying attention and there's no chance of us missing a visit since we have security camera's around our home. Our last contact with Garrett Aerobics Septic Systems was to notify them of another late service and that we would not be renewing our contract with them due to the unreliable service. My wife spoke with Brenda, the Operations Manager, who sent someone out to take care of the late service. Both Brenda and the technician were polite however, the technician didn't have chlorine tabs, which we were paying an extra $75 per year to have completed with each visit. He ended up using some that we had on hand and also stated he had some other customers after us. I hope they weren't paying for that additional service as well. My wife called back to let Brenda know the technician didn't have chlorine tabs and had to use ours. She stated they would extend our service which included one more visit. That extra visit never happened. Due to the unreliability of this company, it does raise the question whether we ever received chlorine tabs during the time they were servicing our septic system or how many services might not have been completed if we weren't monitoring. read more

We used this company when we moved into our house because the previous owners did. Over the course of living here for just over a year now, we've had to have them out here at least 5 times for different issues. I've never lived in a house with septic so I did not understand until now that this is NOT normal. At one point I asked if there was something we were doing wrong or if there's certain maintenance/care things we need to do to avoid having them come out so much. I was given a very unhelpful response by the office woman to not use our garbage disposal. The last straw came this week. We had a new pump put in by Garrett in May. When we had another company out here earlier this week to pump the tank, he said that the pump on the system was overheating. So we got Garrett back out here, and they replaced the faulty pump because it was still under warranty but then called us to charge us for the labor!!! So we had to pay $300 for them to replace a faulty pump that they put in. It's not our fault that they put in a defective pump, so why should I have to pay for the labor? POOR INTEGRITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE Our toilets were not working well, so My husband went outside to check the system and water was overflowing from the tank. My husband is an industrial maintenance mechanic and very well versed in mechanical repair. However, since we are new to having an aerobic septic system and he does not have the specific tool required to test the pump's functionality, he called to get a service technician. We contacted a local Weatherford place, they were too busy to come out yesterday but told us to call Garrett's Aerobic Septic Systems. The lady said that they usually have availability. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR FIRST CLUE. My husband called Garrett's based on the recommendation. Garrett's phone staff told him it would be $75 to have someone come out to our home for an assessment and they could send the technician out today. My husband does not prefer to give our credit card information over the phone so he asked if he could take care of payment when the technician came out. He was told yes. The technician came out. He had to dig a small approximately 6 inch hole (see pic) to get to the junction box. My husband was standing beside him the whole time. The tech never said anything about there being an additional cost. Mind you, my husband is perfectly capable of digging and would have been happy to do so, or to tell this guy to stop, but he was not even given the option. The technician confirmed that our pump is shot and we need a new one. He quoted this would be an EXTRA $700+ dollars. Then he instructed my husband to call the office. Well guess what the office was now demanding $150 payment, and told my husband he needed to give payment over the phone that the technician cannot take payments. They explained that the $75 was just to get the technician to our home, the additional $75 was if they needed to do anything else other than come out. The office staff decided that because he was questioning the charges and asking for an alternative payment method (cash, check, etc.) that he was REFUSING TO PAY! WITHIN THE HOUR they proceeded to send him this email (see pic). WHAT!!!?  If you know my husband at all, you are dying laughing at this point. He is super quiet, he cannot stand confrontation, very passive, and at this point was shutting down. So he calls me... I was at my work, so he fills me in on what was going on. I immediately called the office. I first talked to Misty, who definitely did not want to hear anything I had to say and proceeded to put me on hold. I then talked to Jodi when I called back, who quite honestly should be given their employee of the month award. She was super friendly and easy to talk to. Very customer service skilled. She made the mistake of telling me that she was the one that sent my husband the email. Ultimately I spoke with Brenda, who is their "Office Manager." Brenda's very first statement to me was, "If you are going to talk ugly to me, then I just want to let you know that I am not going to talk to you." I told her it did not sound like she was interested in hearing what I have to say, but that her check would be in the mail today! I spoke with the owner James Garrett. I told him about our experience. His response to me was that he was well aware of the situation, and everyone has a side to the story. I explained to him that Wayne would be dropping of their check today and that I would let my neighbors know about their business. He feels that they are backed by the better business bureau and that they have not had any complaints from anyone else. My husband went to their office in AZLE to deliver the check to them in person so we have a receipt of payment. Brenda told him she could not accept payment and tore up the check. I wanted to send them an email saying they were refusing payment! She then proceeded to tell him that I would have known that had I not hung up on Mr. Garrett. What about the 3 people who hung up on me the day prior? (Including her!) UGH! If you cannot tell I was beyond upset by them. Save time and money, call someone else!!! P.S. We talked to 3 other companies, the pump repair competitive pricing quotes $435, $500, and we were told they wave the service call charge when you are paying for the pump repair. So Garrett's would have charged us over$1000 for something that is worth half that! read more

I have used Garrett a number of times over the years and always found them to be fast, honest, and do good work. I don't usually write reviews, but saw the 1star and have found the opposite to be true over the years. They are one of the companies you hope to never need, but it is good to have them around when the poop hits the fan (or the septic!!). Nice folks. read more

2nd time I've had to deal with this company. First time they went through my yard leaving another persons house and did a ton of damage to my yard. They paid to have that fixed, and now today my camera's start going off with a small white van in my drive way. My kids are calling me freaking out who's at our door with a hoodie over his head. He then goes around back to the garage (at this point I'm trying to get the man to answer me through my camera's like I do with others) but he won't respond. He gets a pole out of his van and goes through my back gate to my backyard. I'm already in my car flying home. Thank God I only work 3 miles from my house. As soon as I pull up I can see the name of the company "Garrett" I ask the man what he's doing and he says: I might be at the wrong house. I said did you look at my mailbox? It says the number not just once, but TWICE!! I said why would you go through my gate without checking your address?! He acts like I'm starting to make him mad and I told him to get off my property. I called the Garrett's office and the lady I dealt with when they ran their van on my property answered once again- I was beyond livid! She has very understanding, but I could hear everyone in the background saying: It's a mistake, and basically upset that I even called. Another lady gets on the phone and starts saying how they have a name on the side of their vans...not sure how that helps the situation. She then tells me its been over two years ago that they tore up my yard.....again..??? So does this mean I need to get use to dealing with issues on my property? She says how its an honest mistake and not in a kind voice like Brenda that answered the phone. I said to her ... ma'am he went through my backyard, he wasn't answering my through my cameras, and all I can see is him getting a pole and going to my backyard while my kids are freaking out. We just had a young child murdered by a fedex driver in a van weeks ago- don't tell me to just deal with it. You are on my property the least you could do is be understanding to ME! I would have never wrote this review if it wasn't for the people in the background, and the last lady that I spoke with. They should definitely let "Brenda" deal with issues because when you're in the wrong you don't make smart comments, or sound condescending. read more
