We had an emergency with a vehicle breaking our septic tank. Garside replaced the tank quickly and for a reasonable price.

Called Garside late last night due to an overflowing septic tank that had not been maintained by myself as it should. They came out first thing this morning and got me up and running, and also replaced the outlet pipe on my tank as it had gotten crushed by someone else's poor backfill job. Sherry in the office is the reason I won't go with this company. I'm very frustrated and she just hung up on me. After I told her I'd pay the invoice I didn't know I was getting. it wasn't explained to me well and she just kept saying how right she was and NO ONE in their right mind would pay $900 for literally nothing. Appalled. And I will tell everyone local to me that wants to hear it. I hope that being right was worth losing the install of a whole new septic system! read more

I have had Garside for several years , I have to say i was skeptic at first as the last place i used wasn't honest and definitely took advantage of my being a single gal first time home owner . So i suspected they might all be the same ? Not Garside this guy came to my house said this system is old and needs this and this , i did some research and sure enough that is what was recommended ,he did it at a very fair price , on time ,working w my crazy sched i work 60 hours a week and do domestic n wildlife rescue . I had no alarm system on the septic system as it had broken in and out of tank years ago . I now have sweet looking covers instead of hunks of concrete in 2 places and a very nice looking alarm box. Well he then became my reg pumping guy , recently my alarm went off and it went off when i had contractors her e doing attic n wall insulation so i thought please god you know i cant do this right now . I called the office on the weekend and a nice { not bothered } lady said do this and this if it doesnt go off called Keiths cell so again the skeptic i figure i call him and he says ok have to charge a weekend charge but no he says go back to watching your grandsons basketball game and call me later , i did ,he says no worries it wont over flow ,ill be out there first thing mon !! He shows up mon and im scared thinking i just hd this pumped the spring of 2019 , he says we'll figure it out dont worry opens tank says look perfect !! I say its full ? Keith says no its right were it suppose to be ! He could have easily gotten away with pumping it since he brought the big stool bus w him . We have been customers of Garside Septic for at least 20 years. We have our septic pumped annually. Several times during the past 20 years we've had issues (usually in winter) with a blockage at the first baffle. Garside has always been incredibly responsive and very quick to appear on-site to resolve the issue. The very first year we moved-in we had a housemember unknowingly pour turkey grease down the drain, causing a backup at the baffle, and this was on Christmas Day... Garside was there within an hour or two and has us working again. Pricing has always been very reasonable. read more

Needed a whole new septic system put in, as our leach field wasn't working from how it was built. We went with a family owned local business in our town. (We are also a family owned small business and try to support others, as we know first hand how hard it can be at times.) Got the firm price and start date. Started about a week after they originally said. The owner helped bring the equipment in and we spoke for about 10 min. Only saw him again maybe twice, 10-15 each time. Said all should be done in about 1 1/2 weeks. It took 3 weeks. After that, it was mostly another worker and someone else who drives the dump truck.We explained up front we had a sprinkler system where they were working. They dug up/wrecked most of it. The owner Keith verbally said to us he would pay to have it fixed. We told him the company we have had used to install and maintain over the 8+ years of having the system. During the 3 weeks of them being here, I picked up trash (empty cigarette boxes,energy drinks,dunkin donut cups) and various tools thrown in the front where they were working. We have two kids and didnt want them hurt on the tools and honestly,clean up before you leave. One of the trucks cracked our driveway and drove onto another part of our lawn (that wasnt being ripped up) and no one told us...we found it. (Just had the driveway leveled/paved 3 years ago, big $$.) After calling and telling, they said they would bring plywood to drive on. They NEVER used it, it stayed against a pole near where they were working. We also have a few oil stains from the truck running while the guys chatted.Again if the wood was used,maybe could have avoided that small problem. In that same phone call AFTER telling them about the driveway, they told us it would be another $2500.00 more, since they need to dig deeper and get materials. When they were Finally finished and 'graded' the yard for grass seed,(didnt look like they did anything to grade it,spent maybe 15 min on it) my husband busted his a$$ to actually grade it the proper way...it was a joke how they left it. We did take a bunch of pictures over the course of three weeks...some days it didnt look like they did anything! We had our sprinkler company come and fix the damage and I wrote a note and sent a copy of the bill with it. (Close to $700) I explained how Keith verbally told us he would take care of it and really hoped he would keep his word and do the right thing. No response, no payment for the sprinkler system. I would never write a bad review, in fact this is my first review. But with paying as much as we did (plus more) and how things went (see above), I felt others needed to know.This was a Huge expense! Again, we are also a small business and you need to keep your word with customers. Word of mouth is the best/worst referral. I will also be putting this on Facebook and anywhere else I can get a review in. read more

Horrible service! Total lack of communication between office workers, service workers and customers. I called to have my tank pumped and was told to leave a check on a specific date, which I did. Employee named Keith showed up to pump and apparently missed the check I had left, so it wasn't pumped. I received a call from an office worker named Sherry informing me that my house appeared abandoned (which it doesn't) and she would get back to me with another date for the service to happen. I was contacted, but not given a firm date. I then receive another call from Keith saying he went back to my residence and there was no check, so once again, it wasn't pumped. I tried explaining that no firm date was provided, so no check was left. Sherry then calls back and tells me they will not be pumping. Called Felix Septic and they are coming to do it for $110.00 less. Glad to be saving the money, but what an awful, mismanaged company Garside is. read more
