The other ratings for this HR Block location are low for a reason, don't waste your time or money…read more I'm taking the time to write this review with the hopes it will save someone else's time by not using this branch. I prepared my own taxes using HR Block online for the 1st time this year, after last year using HR Block pc version and experiencing an HR Block software bug that impacted my taxes owed. This year I used the online version to get the tax pro review and the guarantee that if there was another software bug that everything would be covered to whatever the HR limit is. The only thing that went fairly well is I was able to use the online software and liked the fact I could scan a lot of documents and reduce data entry. After I submitted my return for review to Lisa Yee, it went downhill, even though her credentials online looked impressive. She had her assistant message me for a long list of documents which I supplied the same day, except 1 which I posed a question about. Ms. Lee responded, "...there are still many documents missing from this review. Please understand, the Tax Pro Review is simply a quick review of your documents for data entry accuracy. Your return is very complex, and I am recommending you go into a retail office for a more complete review of your tax return." Hmmm, I did the hard work and supplied every doc -1, that was requested, and she said there are still many docs missing (not according to what she originally requested). Lastly, the comment about my return being very complex is surprising, as I picked her due to her great credentials online, and if the return wasn't complex I wouldn't waste my money having a professional review it. Her manager Umair Muzaffar then contacted me on my home phone (where coincidentally I don't recall providing to HR block, and I had a bad phone when he called back to back twice while I tried to let him know I needed to switch phones, but of course he assumed I was hanging up on him (seriously ask yourself if someone is paying money to have their taxes reviewed and they know the call is from the tax office why would any sane person intentionally hangup on them, didn't happen). He called a third time after sending me a couple of text messages in the secure hr app one of which where he said he would reassign my case to a different worker and I could come in the office and have an in office review at no additional charge, which I thought was good customer service. Wrong, after we talked he said I can come in but he couldn't let me know how much it would cost (talk about hi pressure sales, hold my taxes hostage, changethe terms of the agreementI already paid for, say I can come in but we can't tell you the cost until you come in). Additionally he said that complex returns like mine have to be performed in the office, although he could not supply me any of that wording in the agreement that I paid for with my online with professional review agreement. He couldn't supply it because it isn't there. I ended up calling HR Block customer service and requesting a refund which I'm waiting to hit my account. Another fail for HR Block and for this office specifically, as I likely would have been a valuable customer for a long time had they did basic customer service. Again save your time and money, don't use this office or these individuals. I think Mr.Muzaffar actually manages at least 2 of the walnut creek HR offices so, beware.
