I have never used Virginia mason and now that I have, I will tell everyone to go there !! Before my surgery they implanted a pump that would act as a nerve block to my shoulder and arm after surgery to reduce the amount of pain I'd experience and reduce the medicine I would need to take. You don't feel the line being inserted cause your sedated. It was so relaxing and stress free. After surgery I was explained everything. My mom was my ride and she had everything with her. I'm at day 5 after surgery and the pain is no where near where it would have been without the pump. I mean it is sore. But don't need alot of pills. I'm relaxing for sure. He came to my hospital room that evening and said "You will never need surgery. You just cannot move it until you see me in 6/7 days. Gravity will heal your arm." He left never to return. I carried my fractured right arm around with my left arm for over three weeks with major pain and swelling. My daughter and I followed their instructions daily as it got unbearable. We finally got another orthopedic surgeon in Seattle who was shocked and said emergency surgery should have been done three weeks early. Gravity was never going to heal my arm. No one should ever have to endure such inhumane treatment. Being a senior citizen doesn't mean you don't matter or don't deserve the best health care possible.

Don't expect referrals to go through or authorizations to be communicated. Just a ridiculous excuse for a specialty clinic. Also, the dr only works part time so it takes months to be seen. The worst part is that no one in that office has any empathy. Not one person actually apologized for the issues that they created, they just simply gave excuses. A simple, meaningful apology goes a long way.

We discussed options, and have come up with a path to feeling better. He did what my last doctor wouldn't do, and that is to find the source of the problem. He has weighed my options to getting better, and he really shows that he cares. Let's just say, my previous doctor refused to do xrays, and an MRI was out of the question. I was told it was a sprain or strain, and I would be back and running in no time. The doctor referred me to physical therapy, which was beyond painful. After a month, I didn't improve at all. I decided to get a second opinion, and went to Dr. Dawson. Dr. Dawson suggested an Xray. After he reviewed the xray, he saw concerns to get an MRI done. My fiancee is stationed at JBLM and needs to continue his PT. He called this place after finding this place through his insurance he gave them a call and interrogated them, which is his standard procedure. His first impression? The receptionist picked up and sounded confident, a plus in his books. Well the result of that call is that he became a patient! He has been here about 6 times. He comes in, signs in and doesn't even get a chance to sit down as they already call him in! The only person who is ever in the waiting room for more than 2 minutes is me! I've seen multiple different patients come in and they are all treated the same. The ladies are kind and courtesy and have a bond with each patient. They are even kind to me, offering me coffee on some days. And they spend about 1.5 hours with my fiancee, who is recovering from a rotator cuff surgery. They give him a heated massage in the beginning and towards the end make him do exercises in their exercise room, which has a couple of flat beds, weights, a lat pull down machine, stair stepper, treadmill and other equipment. They take therapy seriously! Parking is a breeze, restrooms don't need keys, scheduling is simple. I and he have no conplaints about this place. They even have a fresh newspaper and ample magazines! I truly hope more people come to this office. Be on the lookout for his review!

I have went through two extended injury rehabs and currently about half way through the third, rotator cuff surgery, with these wonderful people. I have spent a lot of time with, and gotten to know, all of the three PTs and the support staff. Every one of them actually care about my success and treat me like was the most important patient they have. Truth be told, I'm just another burned out 76 year old has been athlete who used up his body in his youth. I have no regrets, and I seriously recommend you consider these professionals for your needs! Cameron, Maria, and Brittany REALLY know their stuff. Each one has been a blessing for me.
