This is so difficult to write because I'm embarrassed. Embarrassed that I didn't speak up when I felt uncomfortable but you put your trust in others and, in a way, feel silly protesting because it's treated like "nothing" during the visit. Well... it wasn't nothing. I was asked some questions by a young man who, after asking a few questions, filled out the rest of my medical history without asking me anything, gave me a gown and left. The paper gown was so thin that it was half Ripped away by the time the PA came in but she was a woman so... all good. She asked me to lay on my back and as I did so.... I heard the door open and close. She checked my stomach, lifted my underwear and checked under my bra. It was then that I saw the young man in the room. By the time it registered, the PA asked me to turn over onto my stomach. At this point the entire gown ripped away and I was face down fully exposed. She pulled my underwear completely down so I was fully exposed. I was never given the chance to object... Rather than just simply leaving a negative review without offering the practice to rectify the situation or offer an apology... I sent an email to the office. This is where I have just completely lost it!! Dr Sivanesan called me and I returned the call. She apparently was not given the message that I had returned the call and called me back leaving another voicemail sounding slightly frustrated that she had not heard back from me. Red flag number one. When we finally connected....She immediately (Without asking for any Explanation from me regarding the situation) went into saying that it is the patient's responsibility to inform them we do not want a male in the room. That everything was done in a professional way. In other words ... it MUST HAVE BEEN MY FAULT that I felt so uncomfortable!!! She went on to say they've never had any complaints before. If this doesn't leave you completely invalidated, disrespected, with a side of victim blaming... I don't know what does. I feel absolutely worse after that phone call because there was no acceptance that possibly, just possibly the way they do things need to be adjusted! I let her know that most people would NOT complain. They just wouldn't come back. Because I liked the PA I was trying to give the practice a chance to redeem the situation. To show some empathy. To show some compassion. And in the end... All that I received was blaming... She literally pushed all of the blame on me and insisted that their practice did everything correct giving no consideration at all for my feelings about the experience. Do NOT GO HERE.

I told her no, that I had been there before yet she wouldn't believe me, asked me if I had the wrong location and then finally realized that it had been a few years and that they didn't transfer my profile over. From there, I was standing at the front desk, waiting for forms to fill out, watching her print out documents and clicking on her computer, but she continue to ignore me. After five minutes, I just took a seat, as I figured that I didn't need to do anything. It would've been nice for her to let me know that I could sit instead of standing there. Eventually, I was taken into a back room where I was asked again if this was my first visit. It had been several years since I had been to the office, so the tech suggested Kim evaluate me before moving forward. I agreed. She took a few pictures and then proceeded to walk a few steps behind me and make work phone calls. I find it odd for techs to be making Work phone calls in the same room as a waiting patient. Eventually, she walked out the back door and I was left sitting in a room that had to have been about 75 to 78° in temperature. I'm not sure if their air-conditioning was working, but it was boiling hot in the office. By 12:20 pm I had had enough, and decided that this was definitely not the atmosphere I wanted to get any sort of aesthetic procedure done. I walked past the room where Kim was sitting with a patient chatting and told her that I was leaving. She followed me out of the office to apologize for my experience and let me know that she had lost a friend to a car accident and she was discussing that with her longtime patient. While I have sympathy for her loss, I don't have time in my work schedule to accommodate for her personal life. There is a time and a place for these conversations. I needed to get back to work for a business meeting and there was no consideration in her mind for that, which is why I will not be returning to this practice.
