We had an 11-year-old English Mastiff named Odin, and a 13-year-old German Shepherd named Roscoe whom they saw frequently, as well as our two kitties, Mochi and Cappie, who are still patients there. In the three years we have been taking our pets there we've seen each vet who works there and know that whomever we see our pets will be in loving hands. When our German Shepherd was diagnosed with pancreatitis, Dr. Calvert called us and walked us through his treatment multiple times and was so patient with all of our questions and concerns. When it was ultimately time for him to humanely pass Dr. Kaspar and Haley came to our home (which was an exception they granted us) and his passing was incredibly peaceful in the yard and grass, his favorite place to be. Prior to him developing pancreatitis, he had been seen by many of the vets there for the past few years and always treated with love and care. Dr. Atton was Odin's vet and a favorite among the staff. He received laser therapy and acupuncture treatments every two weeks for his arthritis. He would trot in with his pink elephant and make everyone's day. I have taken my Mastiff to many vets in his lifetime, but none I felt really knew and understood how to care well for his giant breed and not try to price gouge us, but Felton Vet was contrary to that. I finally felt like we had found a vet that had his best interest at heart and wasn't interested in upselling us. Dr. Atton patiently explained every ailment he faced (which was many due to his age and size) and treated him well. Both of our cats have had surgery here before as well. Mochi had a hernia repaired from a spay gone wrong (not from Felton Vet but from before she came into our family) and Cappie has had emergency surgery from swallowing two feet of ribbon. Most recently Mochi spent a few nights at Felton Vet after ingesting a poisonous plant. During each instance I felt that their care team devoted so much time and attention to them to ensure the absolute best quality care. From Nancy, Marie and Justina at reception to Christa, Haley (and the many other vet techs and receptionists I am missing listing here), to every vet they have working at Felton Vet, your beloved pet will be in loving hands who truly care about their well-being. Being hit with an insane total I found out that if I use the single cans sitting there (in a mess) to make up a case with several flavors I get charged the single can price. Can price for a small can one flavor case is $2.37. Putting them together myself for more than one flavor it goes up to $2.79 each. I changed and chose two cases / single flavors. $4.11 extra for paying with my card. Checked with the person I was buying for and she was horrified too at their extortionate prices. Decided to return the cans - unopened cases bought two hours earlier - and they made like they were doing me a huge favor. They are not returning the card processing fee. They charged me immediately but I have to wait 3-5 business DAYS for my refund. Dr Gerrity makes $8.3 million a year and yet apparently still has to extort naive customers. Because we are blind and easy prey when it comes to our pets. The vet assistants were all very nice and polite and had ABSOLUTELY NO interest in making ANYTHING RIGHT. I sincerely recommend staying away from there.

The point is, Dr. Gerrity is much more advanced, in terms of modern technology. I've had my cat - Max - for over 10 years! He's my savior! Yet, he was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. He'd never been diabetic before. But, he was prescribed a "Vetsulin " by the clinic. The clinic is kinda far from where I live, so every trip there was a huge disturbance to Max. Then, I'd discovered Dr. Gerrity, who was within less than 1.5 miles away. She recommended that I put a blood glucose sensor on Max. Which I did. She had also prescribed a different Insulin type for him. And what do you know? After only 3 injections, Max went into remission!! It had now been nearly 3 weeks - and I didn't have to give him insulin!!! That's after over a year of him being on Vetsulin, which didn't do anything for him. So, I'd say, Dr. Gerrity knows a lot more about how to keep your pet healthy and safe. She seems like someone who GENUINELY cares about your pet! Be it a dog, a cat, or anything in between. I know I'd trust her with my own life. If she cares THAT much about my cat - absolutely, YES!!!

1 Star -- Traumatic experience, lack of post-operative care and compassion…read more I am sharing this because I truly wish I had read the warnings before trusting this clinic with my dog. On February 10, my senior dog underwent an eye enucleation performed by Dr. Evans at Soquel Animal Hospital. After having his eye surgically removed -- a major procedure -- he was sent home without antibiotics and without any pain medication. Within a few days, his surgical site became infected and began leaking. I called the hospital Monday because it was clear something was wrong. I was told Dr. Evans was on duty, but that he "did not have adequate time" to see my dog, and we were advised to go to an emergency hospital instead. What followed was heartbreaking. My dog required emergency care, additional medications, and ultimately a second corrective surgery with a specialist to repair complications from the first procedure. This meant more anesthesia, more suffering for him, and thousands of dollars in additional expense that could likely have been avoided with appropriate post-operative care and follow-up. Watching your animal suffer after you trusted a professional to help them is devastating. What has stayed with me most is the lack of humanity and accountability. Sending an animal home after major surgery without infection prevention or pain control is unacceptable. Refusing to evaluate a post-operative patient with complications is even worse. After this experience, I went back and read other reviews and found concerning patterns. I deeply regret not doing that beforehand. Please advocate strongly for your pets. Ask exactly what medications are being given, what should be sent home, and what happens if complications occur. I would never want another family to go through what we did.

When was the last time you went to a human emergency room and didn't have to wait more than two hours? The only cases that don't have to wait two hours come by ambulance. This place is utterly amazing. The staff is super professional. They take care of everybody wonderfully and yes, just like all medical whether animal or human, they are desperately understaffed. Let's give a big shout out to these amazing caring professionals Dr. Macy Dr. Akol, Dr. nicki Dr. Lahue, Dr. Kalff Dr Pressel all the doctors I forgot and the best nurses in the entire world. I've been coming here for over 30 years and only receive the best, most attentive, kindest and gracious of care. Folks need to understand how long things take and what the word triage means. I am disgusted reading one star reviews from people with no concept of how much time good thorough animal care takes and how much things cost. An estimate is an estimate they have only ever charged me for what was needed. I am a seasoned dog owner who has spent many hours and has had many visits to the ER over the years. However this last visit was brutal. We arrived at 830 am and didn't get fully seen and discharged for 12 hours ! 12 hours is insane to make someone with a sick animal wait. At least be up front on check in and say. You are likely looking at 5-6 hour wait. At least that way you can make a call and decide to not put your already sick animal through more stress. I get how triage works. Most pressing cases are seen first. But to have us come back into the exam room several times just to sit and wait for at least an hour or more each time is wild. The tech calls me and ask me if I've left and I say no I'm right outside and by the time I've come in they have forgotten about us and stick us in an exam room only to sit and wait another chunk of time. The vet was lovely and she helped diagnose my dog and set up a treatment plan. That was the only plus.
