Dr Scheinin even took the time to collaborate with that 2nd surgeon over the phone the night before the surgery.

I could not say enough thanks to Foot and Ankle Medical Group especially Dr.Chen…read more Sprained my right ankle on a Sunday night, and the office immediately squeezed me into Dr.Chen's Monday morning appointment. The appointment and the X-Ray process were so smooth. The Los Gatos staff were extremely nice and friendly. They have X-Ray and ultrasonic equipment on-site, which is a great convenience. I was tolerating a severe pain and swollen ankle the entire night, with overthinking such as "Would my bone be fractured? Would I never go back to gym?""Would I need to lay on a bed for 1-3 months?" After X-Ray and ultrasonic, as well as Dr.Chen performed pressure check on different points, he thoroughly explained and educated me about the situation: it is an organic sprain. All bones, joints and ligament are perfectly fine. Dr.Chen showed me and suggested me to record how to use KT tape. No prescriptions, no more exams, but good suggestions on which exercises would help the recovery as well as certain shoes to wear during the period. Thank you so much for having me in such a professional, accessible and friendly place!

Dr Lerman was my podiatrist several years ago when I had a wound on my ankle that would not heal…read more He treated my ankle for about a year, including a number of bariatric chamber treatment. Finally, he went with a skin graft that did the trick. More recently I went to his office for a medical pedicure for a persistent toenail fungus. That went well and the toenails are still looking for good food. Pretty good and starting to grow back to almost normal.

I was wondering if I should write this review as quite a bit of time has passed--about 5 years…read more However, the nail care my daughter received for an ingrown nail is a constant reminder of disregard for patient aesthetics. As most people mentioned, she is very energetic and a warm people person. Don't let this fool you. My daughter has had more than one nail treated for ingrown--one, a male doctor, who did a great job and kept the nail in tact. and Dr. Sheth--who virtually cut and treated it at an odd angle--forever crooked. No--no more issues with ingrown--but not ideal--seemed like she put no thought into the healing portion. For a young girl (or any patient for that matter)--it is important and relevant--especially if it it's avoidable. I happen to notice someone else's review mentioning the same thing--propelled to write--as it's obviously recurring and not her strong suitl. Secondly--an more importantly, we came in for shin splints, noticed some "floating bone" in her ankle...she wanted an MRI--my daughter, at the time was about 15. I said, "why? we are not doing surgery"--she said "we should know what's going on"--made sense. But, then, sure enough, she pushed for surgery. I put an immediate halt on that and saw a Stanford foot doctor--for my daughter's level of activity in sports--she did not need the recommended surgery (one that he himself has lived with). She has gone on to play varsity sports in HS and now, a young adult, snow skis, jogs, gym work outs etc. The Stanford doc also shared what the formal name for the issues was--vs "floating bone." For me--2 strikes. I am need of a podiatrist right now...searching the internet for a good fit.

I really like Dr.Ami A Sheth. She is smart and very friendly. Her staff were nice too.read more

Went to her because she was local and I saw her brother who was beyond impressive…read more Right off the bat there was a vibe of how can I make money off this patient, that raised a yellow flag. I had an open wound on the ball of my foot. She did some work on it and told me I needed Orthotics, Hmm been here before but OK, as a marathoner of 40 years I get it. I was charged $600 for them and when I asked about a 2nd pair was told they would be $600. REALLY every podiatrist I have been to cuts the price by 50% since it is just a copy. Hmm that raised a red flag of more of how can I get more money from this patient. Long story short I ended up with an infected toe due to the open wound. The toe was removed and I ended up with a different podiatrist who did the removal. New podiatrist cleared the wound. Told me I should have Orthotics. She said I might qualify for Medicare coverage due to my conditions. They set me up with Medicare call, when I was in THE OFFICE to make sure I qualified. The Medicare person said it was obvious I qualified for Orthotics and I would be covered. Dr Oloff had no clue but was willing to bilk me for $600. Now I am getting a bill for $300 from Dr Oloff for what I don't know. I don't see any insurance claims. Again a red flag as I have not gotten a single bill from my second podiatrist or any other Dr. as far as that goes. The money vibe came alive as most Drs. would call and say they don't take Medicare or my secondary insurance, Not a fan as she DID NOT solve my wound but was willing to bilk me for Orthtics

My primary physician's office referred me to Dr. Joan Oloff. For years I had difficulty walking…read moredue to pain in my left foot. My second toe had a really bad case of arthritis, I'd say bone to bone situation in the joint. Dr Oloff assessed my condition and found that my big toe bunion was aggravating the case besides. Dr Oloff gave me a visual explanation of how a human foot could look like with the kind of condition I have. She explained the different options I have for treatment. As I did not want an invasive method, I first opted for a cream to alleviate the pain, which I knew, of course, will just mask the pain, and not really resolve the problem. The cream did not do much for me. Another option was a costisone shot. I did not go for this as it never worked for me either, based on my past experience for other pain issues I have. So after 2 weeks of contemplation, I agreed to have surgery where she was going to implant a cartilage replacement in the joint in my second toe. She was also going to relieve my big toe bunion. On the day of surgery, the whole process went smoothly. The facility was very clean and all members of the staff were very professional, pleasant and efficient. Post op, I would go once a week to Dr. Oloff's office. She would check my foot and replace the dressing/bandages. I should mention that her office staff, Cryselle and Stephany (sorry if I misspell names here), are very kind and pleasant, very patient and caring. Prior to my surgery, they took the time and effort to find the right size/height of crutches for me as they did not have it in their office at the time. Kudos to both of them.

I am an ultra-marathon runner and running coach who had been struggling with a sore Achilles Tendon…read morefor 9 months when I finally switched doctors and started seeing Dr. Proehl. He immediately did x-rays and started conservative treatments of a walking boot and rest. After following the conservative protocol, I returned to running and did several more ultra-races. When the pain kept returning and affected my training and racing, Dr. Proehl ordered an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Since Dr. Proehl is also a runner, he knew how important the sport is to me and really wanted to see me enjoy the sport again. So, after receiving the MRI results he recommended surgery to clean out the diseased tendon and repair the partially torn tendon using an Arthrex SpeedBridge for attachment to the heel. During the whole process he was understanding, informative, clearly kept up with the latest methods and medications, had my best interests in mind, and was always available for my questions. I had my second post-op appointment with him about 3 weeks after my surgery and I couldn't be happier with my progress. He and I are both extremely optimistic on the outcome and I am even starting to plan my race schedule for the fall, which may include a 100 mile endurance run 6 months after surgery.

Dr. Proehl was so friendly I felt comfortable right away and he was so knowledgeable, he knew right away what my problem is and how to fix it. I will definitely be referring him to anyone who has any foot issues.
