My fiancé and I both enjoy wine and have been to many wine bars all over. This place stands out in both selection and service. If you have people in your party that prefer something other than wine they also had a good selection of Colorado beers and non alcoholic options. We both started with the ABC wine flight (I got the white, he got the red) and both really enjoyed them. We also ordered the classic board - highly recommend! The portions were generous and the selection of meats and cheeses were excellent, especially the Spanish chorizo. After we finished our flights, Bob, the resident "wine guy", chatted with us about their selection and even gave us a few samples to try before deciding which glass to order. I had previously thought I was an ABC (anything but Chardonnay) gal, but had my mind completely changed by the ZD Chardonnay. If you enjoy white wines but usually steer clear of Chardonnay give this one a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed. We also chatted with Sarah, the GM, and the owner during our time there. Both were clearly extremely passionate about creating a great local spot that added something new to the Pagosa area. Overall, the attention to detail in the selection of the wine list and items selected for their boards really makes this place stand out to me as a top tier wine bar. My fiancé even said "I just want to take a picture of the menu because I know anything on it will be good." The passion for creating a great experience also really sets this place apart from others to me. Highly recommend chatting with Bob if you are interested in wines or just want to try something new! We will definitely be back in!

Both wines were perfect choices: big but balanced for the Cab Sav and slightly sweet for the Rose. So good. We took home a bottle of each - how could you not with their fabulous pricing? And since it was a Friday, they had live music from a great Celtic band, Tom Ward's Downfall. Such a cute place as well. Friendly folks, lively tunes and fabulous wine. Thanks for a lovely stop.

Nestled among the peaks of the Sawatch Range, where tumbleweeds might theoretically roll if they weren't caught in the spokes of a passing bicycle, sits an establishment of peculiar perfection: The Biker & The Baker. My compass has unerringly pointed to their door every single time I visit Salida over the past five years. It is a tradition forged in sugar and chain grease, where the rugged American West meets the precision of French pastry. Pairing high-desert riding with artisanal baking seems like a recipe for a pile-up, but the execution here is a sweet ride. You will find aerodynamic cyclists sitting elbow-to-elbow with flannel-draped modern prospectors, united by a singular quest for butter. The Biker handles the gears, the Baker handles the tiers. They aren't just coasting on charm; they are pedaling toward culinary triumph, baking up a storm that rivals the monsoons over the Arkansas River. The confections are miniature monuments to indulgence. I have routinely panned for gold in this valley, but the true motherlode is their lemon tart--a symmetrical marvel of citrus striking like a high-noon sun. Their charcuterie boards are arranged with the geometric exactitude of a surveyor mapping a railroad. Whether you are gearing up to summit Mount Shavano or recovering from a grueling promenade, this sanctuary provides the requisite fuel. It is the exceedingly charming destination itself.
