The mad bastard running the show is busy flicking between you all, so there's not much chance to learn, I got the vibe he wants you to come have one or two and buy or leave. The wine is a nice drop, and they vary immensely in flavor - reading the descriptions on the back page is a must! The vibe outside is fun. Watch for the signs as you come in.

The reasons for this are: The menus are presented on an A4 sheet of green paper, food on one side and wine on the other. Not the class of presentation we are used to here. The fish was the only menu item listed as GF; not every gluten intolerant person wants fish for lunch. We were specifically asked up front if we had any special dietary requirements but even so we were not told of any other GF alternatives. The home-made chorizo was slightly too dry and lacking in flavour. A sauce or relish was definitely required here. My wife had the pork belly. The waitress asked if she wanted it entrée or main size and said the main had 5 pieces of pork compared to 3 on the entrée. When the bill came we were staggered to see that to increase a $23 entrée to main was charged at an additional $28! I do not know how they can justify this. On the plus side the caramelised onion and Brie bruschetta was absolutely delicious and the bread roll was also very good, even though it was late in being served (we were beginning to think the butter dish was for decoration). Sorry Skillogalee, but you are no longer one of our 'must visit' establishments.

The Clare Valley is located about an hours' drive north of the Barossa and a sightly smaller…read moreversion of the latter. It stretches along a roughly 20km drive from Clare to Auburn and is home to more than 40 wineries. It's famous for the Riesling trail and two very famous cellar doors to visit are Annie's Lane and Knappstein. Along the way you can visit historic towns like Burra or Mintaro, which I didn't find that spectacular though. Overall it's a nice, cute and small region but some of the towns were very deserted and on our 3-day trip we sometimes had difficulties finding a place that was open for dinner. If you have the choice between the Barossa and the Clare, head to the former. However, if you've done the Barossa, give it a go and make up your own mind.

We were lucky to land on a special day so there was an extra challenge to do inside of the maze. AND WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. We totally got lost on purpose, and explored around, the maze is deceptively large, more corridors and dead ends than you'd expect. Afterwards we had a quick play on the giant chess, as it was closing time we didn't finish... So I guess we'll just have to go back.

All in all a great stop off if you're touring the Clare valley, but at $12 entry for an adult, it feels much too steep for what is an hours relaxed entertainment. They have been inventive in their repairs to the maze where old hedges have started to die off. There is also a gnome sanctuary to look at on completing the maze.

Yowza! A small breakfast menu with few uninspiring items…read more Went for the granola fruit & yogurt plate, figured it would be a quick trip from kitchen to table. 25 minutes later it showed up. Coffee tasted of burned grounds. Place is in dire need of an uplift - doesn't matter which direction, just a little uplift. Left wanting so much more, but then again, believe there are other coffee shops in the area, so that's a plus.

I guess that's a fair indication of how good a place is ;) The other week we visited for a coffee and something to nibble on. My soy latte was delicious, as was my choc biscuit. Service was very friendly and quick too. This place has a large range of organic foods and lovely gifts lining the edges of the cafe. We would definitely visit here again when passing through!
