Best thing I can say about this place is that the staff is super friendly and courteous. They really go out of their way to provide you with exceptional service. The second best thing I can say is the the food is really good and at a great price. We ordered the mixed family pack which came with a bunch of flautas, birria tacos, quesadilla, wings, fries, birria sauce, salsa, queso, sour cream, all for only $25. I am super happy to report that Gasoline Ray's still has $1 birria tacos for Taco Tuesday and $2 Tecates and the Yueling was like a dollar more. I love the atmosphere because people leave you alone, which is great because I'm not there for the conversation, I'm there for the food. My friend and I sat at the bar and the food was coming out fairly quickly and for some reason there were just chicks like us at the bar. I kept seeing the same orders coming out and asked them what they ordered and they said it was a hidden house menu item, the rolled tacos with birria sauce. Whoa, crunchy rolled flautas in the amazing birria sauce? Game on! Cut to the chase, it was really really good but super duper spicy! I'm a wimp and this had me crying and taking deep breaths to control the fire. One order came with 4 flautas and by my 4th one I couldn't taste them anymore over the burn. I believe it was $8 for an order. I'll come back, but until I build up a tolerance for spicy foods, I'll just stick to the $1 birria tacos on Taco Tuesday. read more

Gasoline Ray's is a Dive Bar without being "dirty divey". I like the atmosphere and the bartenders are always really friendly. No draft beer BUT the beers are ice cold which I appreciate. The last time we were there the bartender was alone and super busy and when we asked he was happy to put 6 beers in a bucket for us which helped him and kept us happy and our beers full. We've only ordered food once in the few times we've been there. At the suggestion of the bartender we had the rolled tacos/flautas and for me the food was just Ok. I'm not saying it was bad but based on other reviews I guess I just expected more. Not to worry though. We'll be back for the beer and the atmosphere. read more

Great place!! It's got a oldie rock dive bar. They have leather couches and a bar with old rock playing, nice vibe of the place and a license plate wall that really fits. Service is great, quite a wait on the day I went because they have the bartender running the room as well, but we got chips and salsa tray for the wait though. Came here on a Tuesday. Someone from work had mentioned they do taco Tuesday with good Birria tacos and cheap beers. The tacos were $1 for chicken and $1.50 each for birria. The chicken tacos were a bit plain in that they came with just chicken on a tortilla. If it had some cheese, onion, or cilantro that would have instantly improved it. The birria tacos were great and flavorful. The consume was rich. I believe the beers were $2 or so for a Tecate when we had gone. The bar had a great vibe and was neither crowded nor empty. So went here during Covid to meet up with my bestie. We wanted to check this little divey place out bc it's over Transmountain Mt. from the Northeast and off the freeway-ish coming from Las Cruces, NM to Westside. So good meet up location for us! So the place is really dark but open-space with bar seating, a long tall shared-table, couches, bar tables and others. There's a huge LOUD fan right at the entrance so if you're trying to "talk/catch up" don't sit at the entrance! We sat in the back couch area and it was really cozy and warm almost?... the music was good, playlist varied . People mostly stayed with their group. We tried two dishes. Rolled tacos SOOoOo good!'! (Their Chico's tacos version but WAY better). The meat is NOT burned crispy with old oil lol I ate it all and one to go. My friend tried the birra tacos but she didn't like that greasiness but I think that's how birra tacos . I tasted one and I thought it was tasty... They're why my girlfriend and I keep coming back! And if you try anything there, try the birria tacos, they're FIRE! Only note would be that Ray's allows for more diversity in the music just because there are a handful of non Spanish speaking people who walk through the doors. Visited Gasoline Ray's at their expanded location at 4907 Crossroads. Went there for lunch and had the pleasure of seeing Azzam the owner and chef. I asked him what he recommended and he said you need to try the Mediterranean Bowl. Wow! Was he right The Falafel was done crisp but not dry, The Grape Leaves were so very tasty and the Hummus In the center of all this deliciousness was a Salad with Fava Beans on the side. Unbelievable price of $10. I thought I was picking Azzam's pocket!!! Along with the meal I asked the Arliss the bartender/waitress what were today's drink specials. One of the specials was Hornitos Tequila. My friend and I ordered Hornitos Margaritas. Arliss makes them from scratch. Each drink had individual fresh squeezed limes. The service was terrific. My mom is a singer in a band called Smok'n Mirrors and they played there and we had the fish tacos again and they were delicious I was happy they serve Angry Orchard Hard apple cider because I'm not into beer. While we were already ordering he literally stopped taking our order to go help one of his friends get a beer. As I was trying to pass through a tight area to go to the restroom he pushed past me and I smacked a wall (I'm a small female), he didn't even apologize.
