This is a dive bar near downtown El Paso. Small but with a big personality. I loved the "weird" decorations and collection of odd artifacts all around the place. Went here early so I did not get the full experience of what this bar is really like but at the time I was there it felt very relaxing and welcoming.

Was told to go for some coffee here by the guys at west Texas tattoo shop. Robert our bar tender was really helpful, really down to helping us order some coffee and also to make it.

A small, comfortable bar that makes you feel right at home because it literally looks like a little house on the inside. They have a decent beer selection, and relaxed environment. It's a lot different than other bars I have gone to. I truly enjoyed it and plan to go again.

Awesome dance space inside. Always great music playing.

Perfect dive bar. Good beer is cheap and plentiful. Lots is space inside as well as a massive smoker friendly patio for those wonderful desert nights. Just north of downtown on Mesa street.

Been here a couple of times and still had an unsatisfying experience. The main problem i have with monarch is that the beers whether on tap or bottled are always borderline warm. Which for a beer is unacceptable. The place itself is very unique looking with vintage furniture like couches, tables, and decorations. Recently though they've had the doors and windows open but it simply isn't enough to keep the heat out. More people are using the patio area which is really nice. One thing that surprised me is how lit the patio area is. The service is ok i always have my girl friends order for me since only women and close friends of the bartender seem to get their attention. Their mix drinks are really good though made with quality stuff like most of their featured cocktails are. Definitely come here for the mixed drinks. I love that this place is in a pretty random area of El Paso where there aren't a lot of bars around so the people who come here are part of the community and are here often. There hasn't been a time when i don't see someone i know here. Really chill bar.

If you feel like being on a horrible acid trip without actually dropping acid, come here. The music playing on the patio was....interesting.

Bar tender was great and was able to make anything I ordered without explanation.

Living in New Orleans for a few years, I can tell you that The Big Easy does not take their tiki bar game lightly and I've had my fair share of adventures. Although the exterior of the building might be misleading, you can expect a world of Polynesian delight and flavors that will leave your taste buds tingling. A dimly lit environment carefully decorated to theme, shows the intentionality behind The Tiki Room El Paso. I had been to their original location by the courthouse and this is a true 2.0 rebirth of the establishment. Now my fave thing to do at any spot is to ideally sit at the bar to get the full experience. What really stood out to me was the level of commercial kitchen equipment that ensured the kitchen smells and smoke didn't take over the place. It's all in the details. The staff here is super fun and engaging which made it all the better. My friend and I were served by Adam and their service with the food and drink program made it all the five-star experience one hopes to receive. If you're getting a drink or served by Adam then you're in for a delight. I had a zombie drink and the flavors were so well mixed that it was easy to forget how liquored up they were. This drink has a two drink maximum and lemme tell you, later that night it was clear why that is lol. I definitely had a good buzz flowing. My favorite part was the serving presentation which had the cinnamon sparks and flicks of fire. My friend was hungry and kept raving about the pork belly bowl and damn was she right. The pork belly was crispy and juicy with each bite. You can respect the aroma and fresh ingredients including green onions, pineapple, jalapenos, and fried garlic. You have to order one (maybe two) for the table. Take a look around and enjoy the vibes. It's an absolute must.

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.
