Kamen Freitag Abend um 20:45 an, laut Internet bis 23 Uhr geöffnet. Bei Ankunft wurde und gleich vom Personal gesagt, es gäbe nur noch Schnitzel oder Gulasch, Küche macht gleich zu. Wenn man Nachtisch möchte, sollte der auch gleich bestellt werden. Wir nahmen Schnitzel ( gut, nur die Petersilienkartoffeln als Beilage waren fad) und Gulasch ( ebenso fad gewürzt ), aber am schlechtesten war der Kaiserschmarren. Das die den überhaupt so nennen dürfen! Das war ein seltsamer , zitroniger Teig in Stücke gerissen. Furchtbar. Das Personal selbst war nett, leider störte, das , während wir am Essen waren, die Tische um uns herum schon abgeräumt wurden und Lichter teils gelöscht wurden. Really nice, cozy, intimate atmosphere. Veal schnitzel is superb - not breaded, high quality meat in a cream mushroom sauce, and potatoes with dried onion. Veal ragout had a nice wine sauce, but was perhaps too sweet, and its spaetzle had a fun textured buckwheat topping but was saltless. read more

Nice typical Austrian restaurant. The food and service was very good and prices were reasonable. I had the special soup which was a cream soup with goose and a bread dumpling. Very nice. I then had the veal ghoulash with potato dumplings (like small gnocchi). Very good as well. That and a 0.5 liter beer and I left stuffed. All five of us left full and happy. Great choice. read more

Came here with a friend who lives here for lunch. We shared the salmon appetizer. Outstanding. The best salmon in my life!!!!! My friend had the calves liver with onions, and I had the Weiner Schnitzel. His liver and onions were the most tender and flavorful I have ever had! A revelation. Another nice restaurant in Vienna. They have a cute "garden" area across the street. Service was very friendly & they were happy to explain anything in the menu. The food was very good. I had the SalmonTrout. Tastes like Char. It was very well prepared. My husband had the Austrian specialty, Wiener schnitzel, which he said was excellent & very tender. Apricot dumplings for dessert topped off the night so we could roll back to the hotel. read more

Went to this place on a recommendation from a local, lots of locals dinning here for lunch at the time, and wasn't disappointed. We went for lunch by I felt it was probably more of a dinner location. Menu is not massive but the food quality is excellent. Schnitzel was one of the best I've had in Vienna in terms of flavour and tenderness but you pay a little extra for the quality but overall good value. Service was good and very quick. Really homey, nice-looking place but the food is very plain. The goulash was overcooked and lacked flavor, the kaiserschmarnn should be delicious but also was really plain and flat. Great ambience and food was delicious. It's like walking into grandma's house. Veal liver exceptionally good! (~16euros) BUT unfortunately our waitress was not very service minded. She apparently was not very happy about us getting a table without reservation. Not one smile during the evening and she took our plates away before everyone had finished. First restaurant we ate at from our long journey from USA This restaurant was a great choice. The service was really great with a very nice waiter who recommended a wonderful Austrian beer. I don't know the name of it but it was yummy! I had the pork with sauerkraut which was delicious. My sister and I split the apple strudel which was divine and the coffee was hot and very good. Just left this establishment, our server Rudy , ignored us the whole time we were there. My food came out, it was not something I liked and Rudy said I could order something else. After bringing me the menu he never returned for my order and completely ignored us for the remainder of our time there. After trying to get his attention to pay the bill he acted as if he didn't see us and my friend had to get up and walk to him to get him to come to the table so the bills could be paid.When it came time for me to pay for something I didn't eat, he was rude and loud saying you have to pay for it even though you didn't eat , what do you want me to do with it. We asked to see the manager, he said there wasn't one on duty. I had to pay for a meal I did not eat and for the bad service myself and my friends received. If you want good service and good food, this is not the place to go!! If I could give them less than zero, I would. I had the Wiener Schnitzel. That's what I came for. It's Vienna, for heaven's sake! You eat Viennese Schnitzel in Vienna, got that? So I did. It was veal, which is proper. It was crispy, golden, the size of Texas, moist on the inside and absolutely divine. It arrived with a fresh lemon wedge and a plate barely coping somewhere underneath it all. The outdoor seating was lovely on a perfect Summer day. The bar inside was very modern and warmly decorated. If I lived in Vienna, I would be here all the time. Great staff, too. Loved it. read more

Wiener Schnitzel was great, the Eiernockerl completely tasteless and way overpriced for what you got. There us additional fee of 3.50 EUR for each guest and when paying the bill (with card) , the waitress gave us two options: Would you like to pay the tip with the card or separately? I think it's somewhat rude to demand a tip, especially since they have a cover fee anyway. read more

We went to Pfudl for dinner on our first night in Vienna. I recommend making a reservation. Our waitress was kind enough to squeeze us in before the next reservation. We had the house schnitzel and grilled local fish. The schnitzel was ok (better ones out there) and the grilled fish, simply scrumptious and absolutely delicious. A tad bit pricey when compared to other restaurants in the area but keep in mind Pfudl is located in a pretty touristy area. Great ambiance, wonderful staff. read more

Had a very good experience here while visiting Vienna. Place has a warm, homey feeling to it, and the staff is very friendly. Had the schnitzel, a huge serving, along with German potato salad and cabbage. All the food was fresh, tasty, and served at the appropriate temperatures. The tap beer was cold and refreshing. Went back to Gasthaus Pfudl with some visiting family. Enjoyed our meal just as much as the first time. The Pfudl Wienerschnitzel was the best we had all week here in Vienna. Even better than some of the better known Schnitzel houses. Service was very good and attentive. After this second visit, I would highly recommend this restaurant as it has delivered high quality food and service each time. read more
