Exceptional Care and Compassion from Ms. Augustina!…read more My husband has a severe phobia of needles and medical facilities, so just getting him through the door is a massive hurdle. We had an appointment at noon, but due to a system glitch, our mobile check-in didn't register inside. When I went up to inquire, I met Ms. Augustina, and she was an absolute angel. Not only was she friendly and accommodating about the system error, but she was incredibly understanding when I explained my husband's anxiety. To make matters worse, I realized we had left the doctor's lab order at home. Instead of turning us away, Ms. Augustina kindly told me to hurry home, grab the documents, and come right back. When I returned, her patient and soothing demeanor completely put my husband at ease. She went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, and because of her gentle approach, she was able to successfully draw his blood. We are quick to leave negative reviews when things go wrong, but incredible service like this deserves to be recognized. I am immensely grateful to Ms. Augustina for turning a highly stressful situation into a smooth, positive experience. This location is lucky to have her!

I personally went to this location the day before and specifically asked whether they accept walk-ins without an appointment. I was clearly told yes, although walk-in patients may have to wait. Because my husband needed a very important blood test, he woke up at 5:00 a.m. and arrived at this location at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28. He understood that he might have to wait, but he went early specifically to be seen as a walk-in. Instead, the employee working at approximately 6:00 a.m. told him that the next appointment available was at 11:00 a.m. He was not there to schedule an appointment. He was there to be seen as a walk-in, exactly as we had been told was permitted the day before. What was even more upsetting was witnessing how this employee treated an older woman who was having difficulty with the self check-in machine. The woman accidentally checked in twice, and instead of patiently helping her, the employee raised her voice and spoke to her disrespectfully. These machines can be confusing, especially for elderly patients, and no one should be treated poorly because they need assistance. This is completely unacceptable in a healthcare setting. Patients may be fasting, elderly, worried about their health, or there for important medical testing. They deserve patience, compassion, dignity, and respect. If this location does not accept walk-ins, patients should be told that clearly and consistently. We should not be told one thing one day and then be treated completely differently the following morning after getting up at 5:00 a.m. to be there when the location opened. I sincerely hope Quest Diagnostics management reviews what happened at this specific location on Friday, August 28, at approximately 6:00 a.m., including the conduct of the employee working at that time. This type of treatment should not be acceptable.

I made an appointment for a Friday because I needed several tests for my new physician job. When I showed up for the appointment, they said they couldn't provide all of the services since it included a drug screening test, which they do not offer on Fridays or Mondays. They gave me the option of going to a different LabCorp that was 45 minutes away, where I could walk in without an appointment. I decided instead to go home and schedule for Tuesday, which was the last day to meet the deadline for my new job. The front desk also told me I could show up at 9:00 a.m. Since I prefer to be early--and because I was fasting just in case--I arrived at 8:17 a.m. The front desk told me my check-in was invalid because drug screening services start at 9:00 a.m., and I would have to check in again at that time. So, I went back to my car and waited 40 minutes before checking in again at the kiosk. After I checked in at 9:00 a.m., I was called five minutes later and asked to email my employer's paperwork with prepaid barcodes to a very long and difficult email address with random alphanumeric characters--making it very easy to mistype. I was finally called at 10:00 a.m. and began the urine drug screening. After completing that service, the staff told me I could leave, but I reminded them that I still had two additional blood tests pending. They said this was handled by a different department, even though it was in the same location with the same personnel. I was asked to wait in the lobby and check in again for the other services. After waiting another 15 minutes, I was called to the front desk and told I had an outstanding balance of $180 from three years ago. Because of this, they said they could not provide further services--even though they had already taken my urine sample. It turns out they mistakenly linked my name to another person's account with the same name, who lives about 200 miles away. The address they had on file was one I had never seen before. I have never used LabCorp before. As a veteran, I receive all of my medical services through the VA. Despite this, they told me I would need to resolve the billing issue before receiving any additional services. I was therefore left with only one-third of the required testing completed, an unexplained bill, and disqualified from my new job because that day was my final deadline. I also noticed that several patients were waiting in their cars for a text message that never came. After one or two hours, they had to come inside to ask about their appointments. The office had a monitor showing the check-in status of patients, but the names on the screen did not match the actual patients waiting, leading to further complaints. There were also language barriers between employees and patients, and even among employees themselves. HIPAA regulations may have been violated at this location. As a physician, I would never send any of my patients here. I have been to Quest Diagnostics before, and their service is far superior to what I experienced at this LabCorp.

If you make an appointment online and provide all your information, you receive a text about 30 minutes to tell you to check in when you get there. It allows you to check in about 5 minutes before your appointment. If you have a 10:00am appt and show up at 8:00 am, you're going to end up on the waitlist OR you'll be able to check in at 9:55am. They know how many appointments they can handle and the first time we were there, someone came out and told the waiting room that they could not take any more walk ins. My veins are horrible and I can only have draws on one side. I was a little worried, but the tech was very patient and found the perfect spot. She got what she needed and had perfect blood flow without having to stick me more than once. My appointment was at 8 am, I was home by 8:19am. I was taken in at 8:02 am. No place is perfect, but I will definitely do my blood work there when necessary.
