In a little river town and really the only lively place in the evening with some tourists/biz people (me) and many locals. Just about everyone was very friendly including all the really great bartenders who acted like friends. We were treated like regulars after a couple of late night visits. Some slot machines which actually paid!!! Our destination most evenings. Not really smoky as only allowed in designated areas-like near the slot machines. Not really expensive. As if no other place existed to get drinks, Moloney's it is! This place just doesn't have what I look for in a bar. I'm not a bar snob, hell, I'm not even a big bar goer, I'm just a guy who seems to like a different kind of atmosphere. I suppose this place is just a matter of taste on how you prefer bars. I love pubs, Irish pubs at that because of what they carry. Irish whiskey and dark stouts are what make my life complete. And their drink selection is impressive, but for those who don't love standing in long lines or fighting through tons of people to a speedwell, it just doesn't mean much. And call me old, but I've spent more time on my feet on Moloney's then I have at any other bar in Kaiserslautern. Unless you're ready to get there early, or seriously fight for some table space, it's not worth it. I don't drink to get drunk, and I don't like to get rowdy when I drink. Moloney's caters to both. Like a previous reviewer said, you can actually do shots with the owner and staff. For some people that's a great way to have fun and meet people, I have no problems with that. For me, I see that as a huge red flag for industry unprofessionalism. I think Moloney's knows their target audience, and I'm not that person. I can't hardly fault a place for trying to be something to everyone, because it's obviously doing well. My two-cents? This place is awful.

This place has a good energy and is usually packed to the brim with younger people (mostly whom are Americans). They have an extensive drink selection and their prices are reasonable (but are still in Euros so the tab tends to add up by the end of the night). But be warned, nearly every time we've gone here it is crowded, takes a long time to get a drink, is super rowdy, and someone always ends up getting into a fight/gets kicked out/makes a scene/has base police or polizi called on them. So be prepared for some nonsense and annoyance. Overall, I'd say this place is good for young people in group outings but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a relaxed night out with a date.

I remember doing shots of Tequila with many of the regulars mimicking Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. I also played the Irish Pub in Saxonhausen district of Frankfurt and in Fulda.
