They cater to the north valley outdoor enthusiast: hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, barbecuing, you'll find your items here. This store is fairly new and is located within North Valley Plaza in the building once occupied by Mervyn's. The plaza has a lot of free parking and is easy to access from both the Cohasset Road and East Avenue freeway exits. I enjoy coming here to stock up on pellets for my Traeger grill. Easily the lowest price in town here. There is always a good selection and a wide assortment of options. They seem to have sales often as well which makes shopping here all the more enticing. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, too. You won't get a true Cabela's experience here, but definitely come if you are in need of outdoor gear at a good price.

I never experience anything like this as a customer, because when a customer is waiting at a glass case I'm sure the customer would like to look at something. If there was a Zero Star I would have given it Zero. Hopefully upper management will look at this review and have a talk with the workers around the Hunting and gaming section. It's not very visible from the road although it's in a fairly busy area adjacent to downtown. Due to this, I never felt that this spot was commercialized. Just a true mom-and-pop establishment. I enjoyed that this shop is also adjacent to the south campus neighborhood where all the Greek houses are. It was an easy two block walk from my fraternity house. The store, while small, is very clean and orderly. You'll find a multitude of Greek-related merchandise (cups, apparel, crafts, stickers, etc). The gentleman who runs the shop will also take custom orders for embroidering or ordering a particular product. A convenient little shop overall, and a true asset to the Chico State Greek community.

No big deal. I went to the front counter and asked for someone to help. The clerk stated that the two other employees were helping a customer with a ping-ping table. Ok...we waiting another 15-20 minutes and the two walked by several more times without addressing us. After 30 minutes without help, we left. Won't be back. The deals might be ok, but if I can't get anyone to help get stock out of the back, they might as well be closed. Complete waste of my time.

I was told I had the wrong parts and they needed to order the right ones. They kept my bike for a few days before calling and telling me they needed to order the right ones and some of it was on backorder for a month. The price and time frame didn't work for me so I took it to another shop for a second opinion. The new shop installed the parts I brought and said they WERE the correct parts. I don't know if this was just a mix-up by the technician at North Rim or some other kind of shenanigans to get me to buy expensive parts from them instead of using what I provided. Either way, my trust is gone. They also charged me $20 to take off and put back on the same broken crank set.

I find the previous review about "snobby employees" extremely unlikely--I have found nothing but amazing people every time I've been in. Tyler in the Bike Shop was great, answered some noobie questions. The whole team was eager to help, super knowledgeable, helpful with all of my outdoor needs. I was surprised how good a selection of footwear and clothing they had too--and not just for "outdoors", but athletic wear, etc! Ive already spent several hundred here, and this has become my new favorite in Chico. Before you go outside, camp, hiking, a day of the lake, snow sports, or biking--THIS is the place to go!
