Don't let this little face fool you . She's spicy 8-09-10

By LA LA doctors standards this little girl would be dead either by putting her down or the 2 weeks she had left to live . As a dog dad knew it wasn't her time , as dad you know every little thing about them , from walking funny to why she's not eating or playing the same , as you would know about your human children. In our first true family trip of 2 months to Cleaveland we were lucky to find this place. I like to thank Dr Gaholtra and staff for keeping my little girl up and running the whole time in our stay in Cleveland. And the best part of all without spending the regular 3-400 dollars on tests for a simple shot of antibiotics as in Los Angeles.

I have been coming here for probably the last three years for all of my concerns regarding my dog. Honestly for the first three years I I did not like it. I hate the waiting room so I appreciate that they allow you to sit in your car with your dog. 99% of the staff in the past was rude and they had treated me poorly and at times made extremely rude comments to me. The reason I continue to return is 1. Its the most affordable place in the area. 2. My dog always receives very good care from the staff. So I just put up with them being rude to because I want my dog to receive good care of the price I can afford it. I know this sounds like a bad review and you're wondering why did I give this place four stars. My last two visits have really changed the way I feel about this place. The staff members that took care of my dog were amazing. I had found some lumps along my dogs mammory tract so I brought her in. Dr. Michelle assessed my dog and explained that they were tumors. My dog had these tumors because she had never been fixed. I know this is a big issue and not once did Dr. Michelle scold me or make me feel like a bad pet owner. She made me feel very comfortable and so did the two technicians that helped. My dog is very anxious and does not do well around other dogs so they really worked to accommodate her. Dr. Michelle did not complete the surgery but it was another female doctor that she works with closely. She performed an excellent surgery on my dog. When I picked her up she was comfortable and they provided me with plenty of medication and educated me on how to properly take care of my dog through out the healing process. She has made a great recovery. My childhood best friend is a veterinarian but lives out of state and when she came home for the holidays she assessed my dog and the suture line and complimented what a good job the doctor had done on my dog. They have called me twice since the surgery to check on my dog and also report that her tumors were tested and are benign. The other compliment I want to give is to the woman at the front desk the morning I dropped my dog off for surgery. My dog is nine years old and this was a pretty big surgery so I was really upset and nervous and I was crying. This receptionist made me feel so much better and so much more comfortable with my dog receiving surgery and the technician that took my dog back for surgery was so kind and gentle with my dog. I can't understand how I have received bad service from here in the past because the experience I have had in the last few with this place was amazing. Eloise and I thank you Gateway!

They are AWESOME! ALL of them. So nice and caring of my babies. We have been going here since 2012. And they were very sympathetic when I had to put 3 to sleep. So comforting!

I had to say goodbye to my 18 year old cat 5 days ago. I've never had to do this and wasn't sure what to expect. The ladies at the desk were so nice. I called a couple hours before I came in and had an informative and reassuring convo with whoever answered. I had to wait 15 mins, so I went to the car to spend it with my cat. When they called, they had a side door that to me was perfect and private instead of parading through a lobby. I was greeted by Jenny? (I saw 3 different girls, sorry I don't remember names because I was stressed out) she was beyond nice. The next lady in was nice too. Then I met Dr Liz. Seriously, she is a true gift to the animal world. The care and compassion this place has is amazing. They comforted me while I ugly cried and was a complete mess.

You have no idea how important it is to have a trustworthy vet until you have a pet. I'm lucky enough to be the new fur-momma of an adorable rescue pup, Archie. He's the perfect little man and it was surely love at first sight... especially since I drove 10 hours to Hagerstown, MD and back just to get 'em. Anyways, I searched Yelp to find a great vet around downtown Cleveland that I could trust with my new fur babe. And once again, CLE yelpers have not let me down. They pointed me right to Gateway Animal Clinic, which I've driven by numerous times but never thought twice about. Yelpers also let me on to the whole "first come, first serve" style of this vet clinic, so I wasn't confused when I walked in. Actually, I got the first ticket! So, I waited a short while and was welcomed in with my Archie to the examining room. I'm not sure which vet I saw, but she was very sweet and thorough with her examination. She answered all of my questions and let me get my typical nervousness out. Unfortunately she informed me that little Arch has a heart murmur that needs further examination. So, that broke my heart, but she recommended some heart specialists to go to for more support. The one thing I would have hoped for was more practical, everyday advice on how to care for Archie's murmur, how to keep him healthy, etc. Even the receptionist/nurse was sugar-sweet! She gave me lots of helpful tips on who to go to for training and took the time to chat with me a little. I think she could tell that I was a little shaken-up by the news, so she took extra time to talk with me. So appreciated. Overall, you can't beat Gateway for the cost. $37 dollars for a check-up? With vets that nice and thorough? You can't beat that. I was also able to stock up on heartworm meds, and noticed that I could just stop by the front desk to buy more when I need it. Huge convenience! Archie and I will definitely be back for his yearly check-ups!

I went here a few weeks ago for my siamese cat. It was our first visit and we had a great experience. We went on a Saturday morning and I while I wish we would've gotten there earlier, like 20 mins before 9 a.m., the wait wasn't so bad. We arrived at exactly 9, I left my cat in the car while I went to get a number and I was #26. I waited in the parking lot until they called my # (9:45ish). I checked in by giving them general information about my cat, age, name, etc. and went to wait in the car again because the waiting room was a little crowded and there was a lot going on in there. After about a 20 more minutes I went in the building and sat for about 10 mins longer. They finally called his name. We went in the doors which was another office, that was shaped in a horseshoe with about 4-5 exam tables and other patients, owners and workers. It wasn't crowded but I think my cat was a little spooked (it was his first time) however the assistant did a great job of comforting him. They weighed, examined, vaccinated and let us go in about 15 minutes. We were out by 10:45. I loved how reasonably priced they were but never felt like the service was subpar bc of it. I think we've found our vet!

Good Vets, Miserable Front Desk Staff…read more I've waited three years to write this review because the actual veterinarians here are great, and I wanted to give the practice a fair shot. But after today, I'm done. The front desk staff, specifically Laura, is a nightmare, and dealing with her is the worst part of coming here. Laura has been rude, curt, and combative since my very first phone call three years ago. The only time she was ever nice to me was for about five seconds when she thought my last name connected me to a wealthy local family. The second I told her we weren't related, she went right back to treating me like an inconvenience. I literally tense up every time I have to pick up medication refills because I dread the possibility of dealing with her. This week, she completely crossed the line. My cat has an ear infection, and after days of getting hung up on by their 8:00 AM "lottery" system for urgent appointments, I had to take her to the emergency vet. When I called this clinic back to ask if a vet could adjust her meds, Laura flat-out refused to help. She forcefully said "a vet will not talk to you" then flat out lied and claimed it's "illegal" for any doctor in the building to help me unless they had physically seen my cat before. Then she decided to play doctor herself. She insisted that ear drops were the only option for my cat, which is completely untrue. When I told her I didn't want to force my senior cat--who has kidney disease--to sit in a stressful emergency room for 8+ hours just for a medication tweak, her brilliant solution was to suggest I start giving her subcutaneous fluids at home just so she could endure sitting in a carrier all day. We haven't even crossed the bridge of doing home fluids yet, but she's handing out unhinged instructions on it like it's nothing. It is completely over the top for a receptionist to deny access to a doctor, make up fake laws, and hand out medical advice for a sick, senior animal. Laura is a massive liability. I don't recommend this place at this point. The medical care is good from the actual veterinarians but you have to get past a combative, rude gatekeeper first.
