For the most part, my experience living here was good. I'll keep it short and simple: Pros: -Pretty new apartment complex, everything was looking great. -Office staff was nice to deal with. -Location is great, next to all the shopping and restaurants. Cons: -No designated parking. If you worked late in the day, it would be really hard to find a parking spot. Pretty inconvenient when you have children. -The walls are paper thin. I lived on the middle floor so I constantly heard the college students above us and the people below us playing loud music all the time. My downstairs neighbor would constantly bang on my floor because my 10 month old was "walking" too loud. -There was a HUGE roach found in my bathroom, which was pretty disgusting. Overall the place was aesthetically pleasing, which I liked. Probably not the best apartment for families, due to the thin walls. read more

I am a current resident of Gateway Crossing Apartments. 5 months ago it was awesome. The leasing staff were on point with fixings and complaints. However, almost 2 weeks ago I went into the office to address a parking issue which has since been ridiculous. I come home and literally there is no parking! I addressed the issue to the staff that a lot of the vehicles parked here have no parking permit. Out of state cars, cars I see consistently parked day in/day out. Erica makes excuses for these people stating 1. they have tow trucks driving thru here all the time to ensure people comply (which is a lie because then more than 20 cars would be towed already) 2. the residents here must have lost/damaged their tags and never come to the office to replace it 3. they have overnight guests 4. guests are visiting for the day (every day and night?!?!) All of which are not my problem. Everyone signed the contract stating permit parking only and if you have overnight guests they must contact the office to obtain a temp permit, also a big ass sign at the entry gate saying permit parking only!! Everyone who lives here are adults, treat them like one! Tow their damn cars for not complying otherwise revise your contract regarding permit parking and remove the sign out front. And while you're at it, remove the gates too. Clearly anyone can enter thru the 'exit' gate not using a code or the remote. Leasing staff is aware but have no done anything about it. For an "upscale" apartment, this is the BOTTOM of the barrel! For starters, if you are on the bottom floor (I'm uncertain about the other levels) you are guaranteed to have mice, cockroaches, pincher bugs, and spiders. When doing your initial walkthrough, I strongly suggest taking a peek under the cabinets in the kitchen area. Nothing is sealed or enclosed. Whatever pests inhabit the field surrounding the complex will certainly be in your apartment! Bonus points- you do not get a dedicated parking spot and there is NEVER parking! This place looks so lovely from the outside but inside you can see how cheaply made most of the things are. It didn't really feel like a home. The staff was very unhelpful and most of the time had no idea how to answer simple questions without referring to their boss which would take days. Our sink flooded a month after moving into our new apartment and we had to wait 4 days for someone to fix it because the staff didn't believe it was urgent enough. Our apartment smelled terrible because of this and the damage that the maintenance guy did was then on us to repair before our lease ended. This place is NOT worth the price. We only had a three month lease and we tried to get paint to patch 3 picture holes, obtaining paint from the office is something they advertise but they stalled us off until our lease ended so they could charge us $300 for paint. They kept saying the maintenance would have to pour it and this went on for 4 weeks. Also the refrigerator filter for water was bad within a week of moving in. When we asked for a replacement they said their shipment was delayed. Following up on the filter lead to irritated staff who said it was on the way and this went on the entirety of the lease (3 months) and we were still charged for the filter at the end. When we tried to rebuke the charge, the leasing manager was very vocal informing us it's not their fault when we tried to get one replaced by them for three months. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE. They do not care about their tenants at all and mostly every apartment is not move in ready and YOU will be charged for minor repairs that are out of your control. read more

My sister lives in the apartment complex and we came to visit for the weekend. We parked in the guest parking spot Saturday night only to wake up early Sunday morning to see that our car was gone and had been towed. Why was our car towed in a guest parking spot??? Makes no sense. Update: My sister called their management office today since they're closed on Sundays and they claimed they emailed all the residents about a new "guest parking curfew", but she did not receive any emails from management or any type of notice on her apartment door. I also do not understand why there would be a guest parking curfew? Especially if we are not parking under the numbered parking spots. We were visiting from out of town. I really wish I could give this place zero stars. Where do I even start with the horrible complex? Don't get fooled by other appearance. Firstly, parking isn't assigned. So if you get off work after 2pm, you're SOL and have to walk 3-5 blocks back to your apartment which makes grocery shopping incredibly difficult unless you're buying one bag of groceries at a time. Second, they shut the pool down to repave it a month before the pandemic and did not reduce the rent. Now the gym, pool and children's playground are closed... it's been going on 4 months now and they still won't lower the rent because corona is not in their control. We all chose to live here for the many amenities. For $1800+/month. So why are we paying for amenities that we can't use?! It's b.s. People here don't pick up after their dogs even though they provide poop bags. It was worse before the enforced the $150 fine. But the people here still don't give a flying fck. Then, the sound insulation is just a joke. It's like elephants stampeding on the upper floors. The lease agreement states quiet hours but if you live underneath psycho tweakers, you're also SOL. You ask management to step in and they're just pathetically useless. Calling security will only make your upstairs neighbor thud around louder. Smh. The sister complex Gateway Station is literally next door with no gate inbetween to separate the buildings. So packages get delivered and lost over there knowing that stealing mail is a crime. Sometimes bums get in through the gate and dig through the trash dumpsters. Definitely would recommend staying FAR FAR AWAY! Beware!!! read more

We are current residents.. I'm sad to say we are not having a good experience here.. when we initially came we asked for a ground floor for our 2yr old son would not be so loud for neighbors.. office said we would be out on waiting list for a ground floor level.. but since then we have seen people move in and out and ground floor levels become available and they still say there are none available.. we have had complaints from our neighbors downstairs about noise level.. we try and keep our son quiet... but ideally a ground level would be nice- we asked if we could break lease so we could find a home so our son can be a kid.. but they want to charge $1,100 - I highly recommend month to month lease... office staff were nice when we first met them.. but Amanda is the only friendly person... the maintenance employs also have been very polite and friendly.. but we are very disappointed in the quality of life here... parking is limited and they only allow 2 guest to visit you... I would say these appartments are not good for families- but single people who like to be alone... the bathrooms in pool areas are never open and the fireplace outside doesn't work... and the office says they offer snacks and coffee but are always out of snacks- or are waiting on "orders"..... read more

I truly enjoyed living here. I can't say it was the absolute best, but I wouldn't say bad at all. They are nice apartments, but as other reviewers have said, the walls are indeed thin. My neighbors had kids but you'd think they had zoo animals lol. I never complained, because I too have kids but i always wondered what in the world were they doing up there. It's definitely a place for couples without kids or singles, because my kids didn't have much to do outside. We are use to having a yard or parking lot with more sidewalks then actual parking lot, if that makes sense. I took them on walks a lot, but there wasn't anywhere for them to actually play. Sometime I took them over to the next apartment to play in the park. We made it work. The amenities opened up a while after we moved in there, so that was cool. The pool was nice. Didn't like that there isn't assigned parking at all, but we also made that work. I love that we were surrounded by many things. Anytime I had to reach out to the leasing office I had no issues. They were helpful. I specifically liked Leia, and Erica. Maintenance was slower than I'm use to, but once they came things got worked out. My car got vandalized literally days before I was supposed to move out, and they were very helpful to me in the leasing office. I wouldn't have moved if I didn't get a better opportunity to save money! Definitely miss living there. read more

Not sure how this fucking place is getting 5 stars from anyone. Probably the only pros about this place is that its appearance is nice. And the friendly maintenance man comes pretty fast. My girlfriend lives here so I come visit on occasion. What prompted me to write this review is the pool incident. She wanted to bring her noodles to the pool to use for physical therapy due to a spinal injury but was told that flotation devices were prohibited. We couldn't even bring them into the pool area and set it on the side. This idiot at the leasing office said that kids might play with it?!? WHY would we let strangers use our things? So I had to go back to the apartment to put them away. So we're there for about an hour when a family came in with a kid's arm floats. My girlfriend pointed that out to management. The reason she was upset was because a flotation device is a flotation device. She's not allowed to bring in a noodle for medical reasons but children can use floats for playing in the water? #discrimination THEN 5 minutes later management came out and was like only people on the lease can use the pool. EVEN THOUGH she had just told us another apartment was opening in a month, knowing damn well that my buddy and I were not on the lease. Also by that bitch's own statement, the kids can't use the pool either as minors can't be on lease agreements. Smh And the very next day, there's a new sign on the pool gates that additionally specifies "only residents" and no pool noodles. I like how you changed the verbiage there. ---------------- All the gf talks about is how awful this place is and how she can't wait for her fucking lease to end and leave. I am a resident at Gateway Crossing. First the good, the grounds are gorgeous. It looks exactly like it looks online. It's pleasant to be around, and to show your friends when they are over. Maintenance is generally done quickly and the guys that handle it are nice about it. The bad: While the maintenance is done quickly, the request is met with attitude, and wait for it, it's because of Laura because from what I can tell she is the one in charge of it. I was glad to see the reviews that some of the residents are happy here, because as someone that lives here most that I know are really unhappy that they have to deal with Laura; both male and female. You would think w all these negative reviews she would stop visibly and verbally being annoyed with requests, but it hasn't changed. I feel like she's burnt out and it's the major thing that makes this an unpleasant place to live. read more

I went and checked out this property as our lease was up and this was one of the newer of the developments. The property itself was beautiful and the property management initially friendly. I was seriously considering filling out an application before running into one of the residents on my way out and hearing that not only are noise complaints not taken seriously, but many issues beyond maintenance become "not managements problem" as soon as you sign. I continued to hear this as I did more research, and realized that a friend of a friend actually already lived there and was echoing the same thing. I did ask management about it and they said that everyone is going to have opinions, and that to their knowledge this was not true. To be fair I'm not sure what else they could have said other than to direct me to tenants that were happier , and although I know that's probably not possible I left unconvinced. I get up incredibly early for work and can't deal with noise or having to beg to have complaints heard. It's a beautiful property but if you need your sleep and your complaints to be heard I have been advised to look elsewhere. read more

This property is absolutely beautiful. I love living here. They have an amazing fitness center, which saves me monthly on a gym membership. I love spending my free time at the pool! This complex is a joke. The walls are EXTREMELY thin. I lived on the second floor and the third floor tenants were always yelling, screaming, throwing things and dropping things on the floor. I made several complaints and nothing was EVER done. There is no assigned parking!! You are never guaranteed a parking spot. Most days I would have to park several buildings away. People fly through the parking lot going extremely fast. I made several complaints and they assured me they were going to put in speed bumps to prevent speeding. That was in March 2019.. still no speed bumps. Yes the apartments are beautiful but everything else about it is horrible. Upon move out my apartment was cleaner than when I moved in. They still made me a professional carpet clean even though the contract clearly states that it has to be returned in its original condition. The management staff is rude to top it all off. read more

I love everything about this property !! They have garages !! What apartments have garages besides here ? The outdoor area at the pool is amazing and has a TV and BBQ for everyone to use . The location is super close to the bay where we commute to and also close to Costco which makes it easy to not spend alot of time shopping . As I read other people's reviews it amuses me that Laura who is so concerned about the quality of the development has not yet cared to respond to any of the bad reviews to at least apologize for her bad behavior and making people feel uncomfortable. I find it very funny how she was so quick to respond to the ONLY two good reviews, but ignore the rest of the reviews. It just shows the kind of person she is and how she really carries herself I would feel embarrassed and come up with ways to work on my bad attitude and find better solutions to people's problems!! I've been at gateway crossing for 2 weeks now and I love it. I chose the third floor because I know how noise is in apartments, unlike the other Yelpers i guess, and because my view of Mt. Diablo is unbearable. The girls in the office are so friendly and accommodating! I have already made great friends who all seem to be happy here. Also, my apartment is brand new. No one has ever lived in it before. Such a great feeling!The only complaint I would have is Tracy's wind is too much! Other than that, I love my new home. read more

It appears that Garibaldi is having Yelp hide peoples reviews on here, instead of listening and working to resolve concerns with the complex. This is not impressive. This shows what type of company they are and how they really do not care about tenants. Instead of working to promote a happy environment at the complex and resolve tenants concerns they are having their friends write positive reviews it seems. This does not change the fact that the complex is incredibly overpriced and rapidly increasing in price. They will increase rent on every tenant as soon as they get a chance. The turnover is so incredibly high here. You can rent a house for the price they are charging for these apartments. There are also cockroaches around the complex. My husband and I found ourself almost homeless in the town we grew up in all our life. We had been searching for a new rental for almost a year. The place we had been living at was going to be sold soon and we were running out of time. Hubby saw an add for this place and put in an inquiry. Lauren called us the next day! I saw the apartment while my husband was as work. Lauren was so patient and understanding. She took her time showing me the place and telling me details about the apartment. I fell in love with the place right away. I feel like the apartment is more like a luxury condo than an average apartment. We have a bigger kitchen than we did at our last rental home. It even has a nice island in the kitchen that's great for food prep and has extra space for a little breakfast bar. I love that we have our washer and dryer in our home because it's never fun to have to do laundry in public laundromats. Our bathroom is very spacious and we have a walk in closet. Moving here was a total upgrade from our last home. When it came time to sign the lease Shelby was the one to help us. She answered all our questions and walked us through the whole lease and rules for the property. All the girls that work at the front office are such wonderful people. They really care about the apartment and all the people whole live here. They really make sure that everyone follows the rules so that the community is quite and safe. I know that it truly gives me and my husband peace of mind that we moved to the right place. read more

I've heard multiple stories about how people are so uncomfortable living here because of the office staff. These girls have tried me as well but I will not put up with their shit. I've witnessed them gossip about tenants and sit on their phones everyday ignoring people that walk in. They all look miserable and then try to take it out on the tenants. The staff have always been friendly and helpful to myself and my wife. I see a lot of comments about staff, parking etc...you people need to grow up, one thing I've learned is people love to complain, maybe if you focus more on the important things in life rather than "what can I complain about next" you would be happier.
