Why are there so many negative reviews? This station is great! Catch multiple trains and buses and there's even a snack/coffee shop.

It's a transit center. Buses and trains pick you up. You get to where you want to go and then back, again.

This was a very convenient light rail station as it was connected to the Portland Airport. As of…read moreOctober 2025, the fare was $2.80, good for 2.5 hours. You can use either a credit card or your mobile digital wallet to tap at one of the fare kiosks before you board the train. The red line itself took me over to the Oregon Convention Center as well as downtown Portland.

This is my first time back to Portland since getting my Yelp ID (though I used Yelp extensively to…read morefind places to eat my first time here - how do you NOT Yelp in Portland?!?), and I continue to be glad MAX is available to get around, at least to the areas it services. It's even more user-friendly now than it was back then, and the "you're fully paid for the day after 2 rides" option is great. This station looks like it's ready for a little bit of a makeover. There isn't a lot of information readily available, which would be a big help for first time-users, but if you know you're coming here, you can get all that online. There's only one MAX card machine here, but perhaps you only need one given how easy it can be to pay using a smartphone app or a credit card with a tap option. It would also be nice to know how many minutes the current train will be there before departing by a sign somewhere, but navigation services on apps can also give you that information.
