Fast forward to this year when i went back to my original place to file my taxes, it was flagged stating that my dependent was claimed by another person. I had my taxes done at another location. I called them the corporate office with my complaint, I spoke with Stacy whom claimed she would fix my issue, and never did. Evetytime she said she wld call me bck and follow up never did but once, and that was initially first time we spoke after that nothing, issue never resolved. The company unprofessional and don't care about their customers, I had expired state check from 2023, and all I needed was them to contact bank and gt check reprinted and mailed to me, the company and people in this office strike me as incompetent. Still to this day no check and no resolution, they will take your money and when theirs an issue or complaint they will do nothing. If I cld give zero I would, and no I don't recommend them at all, go elsewhere., I've been using them last 5 years, but after this I will be finding somewhere to file my taxes! read more

I agree with Ana D., these people are so unprofessional and rude. They have hung up on me twice. I finally got through to verify that our taxes were filed electronically as paid extra for and I was told that they were. I asked why then, would I be getting a bill from the IRS and was told by the girl, "I don't know, we're not the IRS, call them and ask". Obviously, it was lie that they were filed electronically. Basically got "attitude" for asking a legitimate question. Don't waste your time using them for your tax needs, you'll only be disappointed and frustrated by people who just don't care. They are unprofessional, I walked in to receive a copy of my taxes. The receptionist told me she was on break and yelled for someone in the back to assist me which would let it to be identified as the manager. The manager yelled back to her why you can't assist her. She yelled back to her I'm on break. As I looked in confusion, I stated all I would like is copy of returns from last year. The manager took me to her desk, very upset as if I disturb her day. I expressed to her that the situation I took place prior to her bringing me to the desk was very uncomfortable in unprofessional. She had no concern of my complaint. She routely assisted me and charged me a fee to print a copy of my taxes which they made a error and caused me to be audit. I expressed to her everything was done by enail and i nevered recieved a copy of the return. Morsha- as a manager is the face of the company your staff is a reflection of you as your team represents the company. I would not recommend this tax service to anyone they over charge you they actually rob you. The customer service is horrible you leave messages they don't call you back when you leave them all day to call back then there're conveniently closed. It took them 4 days to file electronically for the IRS to say the information for my dependent is missing or incorrect and My return is half of what is was supposed to be very late receiving it back in fact I still haven't received it. Lol Again Gateway is not there to rectify the issue but they sure got there over $500 fee though. I will not be back to be robbed next year. Definitely beware of coming here. read more

I'm very very disappointed in the service Ive received from Gateway Crenshaw location. My taxes was filed on January 27th and I just received my state refund in the amount of $1445 which was supposed to be $2027 I've yet to received my federal refund. Horrible!! They charged several people I know including myself nearly 1,000 to file!! But wait! I was supposed to get back 6,400 I only got back 5,100 and when asked she said that's all the IRS released???? What?? On top of that when I received my check they asked me to go next door to cash it and pay them their fees! The check cashing place next door wanted to charge me 259.00 to cash the check. I can cash my own check with my own bank!!! You can't tell me where to cash my check!!! I will have these people investigated because I am sure they're doing this to hundreds of people! You never pay your Tax preparer after they file months later! They took their money plus wanted more money from me. This place is horrible and a scam!!! This tax season I worked for Gateway Tax services and they screwed me out of some hourly pay as well as my referral money for getting all these people into the office.
