My husband and I both have small collections of specific Antiques, and we always hope find something new to add. The owner at Gull Cottage was very knowledgeable about her saleable collections, and she was incredibly welcoming. We all enjoyed chatting while I made a few discoveries to purchase; also there was a beautifully maintained yard, with a garden, on the property that my two girls enjoyed playing in as we shopped. Available parking is limited, but fits perfect with the quaint ambiance of the property and the shop. I know I'll stop by here again next time I'm in this area, and I can't wait to see what new items they may have.

First time I went, apparently her A/C was out. She frantically informed me of what the temp was in the store and that she needed to get home. OK. I get it. Visit #2. No greeting. OK, the owner was busy at the counter with a customer. I cruise the premises. Customer leaves, returns with husband. It was pretty classic so I commented on it. No response. They have some nice things, mostly reasonably priced. 3rd time. I'm def looking for something specific. Figured I'd ask when I got in. Well,, no greeting again. This time she was totally engaged with another woman at the register...the entire 15 min I was in the store. I scoped out the entire perimeter again, was going to get in a question or two, but these ladies were talking about school and their kidz... I'm a #GrievingMom and a retired SpEd teacher, so OK, AGAIN. As I approached the exit, I hear, "Did you need help looking for anything?" My response, "A little late to ask"., and I walked out. I am a SuperThrifter. I've been collecting vintage clothes for over 50 years. I love small consignment shops because they usually have some of the local charm and people who love what they do. They had tons of other touristy items that you could purchase for souvenirs Or gifts, including michigan history books. They have a large selection of puzzles as well as Melissa and Doug items, I was able to get a few items for my daughter for when she gets older at a great price. I also was able to find a bag of loose Formosa oolong tea which I had been looking for for a long time and can generally only find in teabags. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We did not purchase any candy but we did check out the selection and they had a nice selection with good variety. This is definitely a stop for every Lexington vacation.

When we REALLY feel like splurging, one of our favorites in the old school toys section is the potato gun. It's about $3 (make sure to buy a couple - it's way more fun that way), that "bullets" are made from pressing the toy into a potato. HOURS OF ENJOYMENT. I have tried a lot of their seasonings and grilling sauces, and they have yet to disappoint. They also have lots of cute kitchen accessories. Upstairs is a baby gift area, but is especially known for the Christmas ornaments and accessories. Their wide assortment make great hostess gifts at holiday time! It's definitely a "step back in time", but I will ALWAYS make time for the Lexington General Store.

He has one room dedicated to hardware and small odd parts, has a lot of porcelain/glassware, and a large number of antique doors. Also has a variety of other things. What's really fabulous is when he gets in some of the really rare, museum-quality pieces he gets that I have no idea where he gets so many of from time to time! At one point he had a magnificent 19th century oil painting portrait of a child AND had the dress the child was wearing in the portrait to sell with it! He had a magnificent collection of antique dolls he sold - 2 of which were featured on the Antique Road Show when they came to Cobo Hall in Detroit - one of the dolls was valued at $25,000-30,000. Another time he had a couple of great 19th century samplers I'd likely have bought, but he'd already sold them to a local doctor. Worth stopping if just to chat with the owner and then head across the street to this great Chinese restaurant he recommended to us that we went back to because the food was so good.

They are Very busy. They usually have several pharmacist on Staff that ask you if you need any help. They have a very easy to use app on your phone for ordering your refills . When & what needs to be refilled. It's a store as well, with great prices on unique items. with anything related to health, natural holistic remedies, gift shop. parking is easy. There are a lot of local shops that are very close on the main street that they're on. They also have other Ehardt pharmacies close by.
