Food was great and the location is way better now that's near the beach. And service was exceptional.

Great spot to listen to live music and have a beer or three. Bartenders are friendly and there is a huge patio in the summertime

We have been to Gator BBQ because we wanted to have a pulled pork sandwich for lunch during our test drive with the new MB A Class. The owner of Gator BBQ was talking with us and showed us his smoker grill and gave use some examples of his beef brisket and some pulled pork out of his smoker. Trust me, their ribs are totally worth it for all the hassle and wait in line. Smokey, Juicy, Tender, Fall off the bone, Delicious, Meaty, Fingers licking good!! The staffs are super nice! I was very lucky to part be part of the rib fest jury that took place at the old port rib fest in Montreal this year! And we got to try anonymously 8 different types of ribs .. and from the moment I tried gators ribs ( without knowing it was them) I literally fell in love!! .. it also won first place with the Yelp event!! So ofcourse after it was over I went on over and still ordered a half a rack for my husband and I it was seriously out of this world. I loved everything about it.. the meat , the texture, the BBQ! I hope they come back next year for rib fest because this was truly a memorable place and if not I'll just have to go to YOU to satisfy my rib cravings! .. what's even more amazing about this place is that it's a mom & son duo .. Tldr: super tasty ribs AND sauce. Quick, friendly service and staff, would recommend Decided to go to these guys at the Toronto ribfest 2017 at Thomson Park as I heard pretty good things about them. Usually when I go to ribfests, I look for places with the best meat. Though in the past choosing this route I ended up with great meat undoubtedly, but the sauce is meh. So over the years I have been trying to find a place that wouldn't sacrifice the meat over sauce or vice versa. Was recommended Gator bbq, and boy oh boy did it satisfy my expectations for great ribs. This vendor had delicious meat, as well sauce that was on par to enhance the meat flavors. The ribs were meaty, juicy, soft, and tender. The meat was so "Fall off the bone" that the ribs were pretty much begging you to rip it off. The sauce was rich, flavorful, smoky, and had a bit of sweetness to it, while not overpowering the meat at the same time. The staff were super friendly, and man do they know how to work the grill. To my surprise, the wait wasn't that long as they had two grills and two lines going on at the same time. There were lots of people waiting as well, but these guys were speedy. Once you ordered, your ribs are pretty much done. Overall, I would recommend this place over the other vendors hands down. Definitely going to come back here next year. read more

*Serious food safety concern and customer service lacking* I dined at Gator's BBQ at the PNE Vancouver. Long story short, I received the wrong order and when I brought it back to the counter the Gator's staff member took back the order I returned, made us a new one, and then proceeded to give the other person the SAME order we had just returned. Once we left Gator's, I asked my partner if he saw what I saw and he confirmed that he did. Even more troubling was that it was during COVID and my partner and I had sampled the food before we realized it was the wrong order!! Also, the staff member who took the order back didn't even acknowledge me with words and the person at the Grill told me to make good life choices. Not sure what was intended by that... I reported this all to Gator's using their online feedback form. The person said they did an investigation and spoke to staff but didn't find anything supporting what I saw and that they re-addressed our no return policy with each staff member (which I thanked them for). I know what I saw and I will not be going back to Gator's. I have no reason to make this up and this is the first negative review of an establishment that I have written. After some back and forth emails, the person I provided the feedback to asked how she can make it right for me. I then used their opening to ask for a refund of my meal, which I thought was reasonable considering I was displeased with my experience. I was then told no refund because I did receive my correct order and if I was concerned I should have asked for a refund before leaving their establishment. Seriously?! You've lost a customer. Great quality food and an amazing staff atmosphere. Dinner and show is always what you will experience when you have Gator BBQ at ribfest. The best part is if you live in southern ontario we are lucky enough to have gator deli and restaurant all winter long. The ribs are always tender and the chicken and pulled pork are cooked to perfection under a beautiful cherry smoked wood. I could be slightly bias because I have worked for the company but none the less the food is delicious, aesthetic and savoury. I am never disappointed when I eat at Gator BBQ rib truck and Gator BBQ Smokeshack and Deli. Oh my lord. Gator BBQ is hands-down one of the top barbecue spots to come to the GTA. Their rig is definitely the one to check out next time you're at ribfest. Their ribs are excellent as they are tender but have a clean bite. The smoke ring is really what wins me over though. There is so much flavour in every bite. My absolute favourite part would have to be the potatoes. I don't know what they do to them but they're absolutely addictive. Once I started I just couldn't stop! Very disappointing! I fell in love with this place at Ribfest, but I soon fell out of love at their location in simcoe. The brisket sandwich tasted like stale roast beef and nothing like bbq. My girlfriend had the pulled pork which was OK but once again the bread was stale. Customer service was meh and one of the employees was eating Wendy's in the back which makes me doubt the overall quality of the food. read more

We visited the rib festival yesterday in Port Moody and 3 of the 5 people in our group got violently ill including myself! I've never experienced something so intense and horrific I'm my life! It's 11:04 am and if been in and out of the tub since 1 am! Someone needs to do something so this never happens again! Needless to say I missed work because of this. We first tried Gator after tasting their food at the food truck and really enjoyed it. Had takeout the other night from their shop in simcoe. We ordered the family combo. The chicken was delicious the ribs unfortunately tasted like they were reheated from the day before and slathered with sauce. The meat was dry and tasteless. The sides of Mac and cheese and the house potatoes were tasty. The sign on highway advertised free side of pulled pork with this order but when we got home it was not included. Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Called 6 times today, and was hung up on mid conversation 3 out of the 6 times. The other 3 times nobody even answered. I had Gator BBQ at PNE and it was good. Pulled pork was pretty tender, good flavour on the ribs, I would've gone back. My bad experience stemmed from the service. I bought the half pound pulled pork with 3 piece beef rib combo for $18 and added a side of potatoes for $2. $20 transaction, handed them $100 and only got $70 in change (three $20 notes, one $5 note and $5 in change). At the time the change was passed on to me, I had a big plate of food on one hand, drink in another, and the notes and coins tucked on the same hand. I obviously didn't have time to count them until I settled the food on a table. And when I did, I noticed I was short and went back to Gator's to ask for the shorted amount, $10. This all took place within 2 minutes of purchase but Gator refused to give me the shorted amount, insisting that the change was counted in front of me. I understand their stance, because obviously my claim can't be proved, but what infuriated me most was that for a $20 transaction, paid with a $100 bill, they gave me three $20 bills, one $5 bill, and $5 in coins, but NOT four $20 bills. Considering the denominations I had in hand, it was more likely that they miscounted than I did. They did offer to give me a few pieces of ribs, but I just wanted my money back, I don't need more ribs, and at this point, I was so irritated I wanted nothing to do with them. All in all, I had a bad experience with them, and although the food was pretty good, I will not be returning. read more

Had their beef ribs at rib fest in Sarnia. I can't stop telling people about it. They were 1 out of only 2 vendors that offered beef ribs. The rest only had pork and chicken. Beef ribs, potatoes, beans, cornbread were unbelievable. Most satisfying and fulfilling meal I've had in a long time outside of the house.
