I ordered their perch tacos. The servers were able to tell me that they didn't have perch but they used cod instead, which was fine. The flavors were good, just missing some citrus so I took a lemon wedge from my water and squeeze some lemon on my tacos and it tasted better. Overall, good service and restaurant in Norfolk County by Turkey Point Beach.

Business is not easy but I think this lack of interest just shows how much they care about their customers. We spend the day in Turkey Point and we were starving for some good food. There are many restaurants to choose from but we decided to try the sandbar. The Waitress recommended fish and chips as she said it was amazing.... so I ordered 2 orders. Unfortunately, the batter was rock hard and the fish was so thin and was incredibly dry. For the money it was Absolute garbage. Who ever created the batter doesn't know what light crispy fish tastes like. We were so disappointed as we did want to like this restaurant. The waitress told me we should try the burgers and wings on Wednesday and Thursday but if she thinks the fish is good - then it's a definite no.

First thing I noticed is how much traffic this spot gets. A lot of locals and some visitors passing through for a bite and/or pit stop. I ordered the Animal Smash Burger without fries (because I hate fries lol) and it came out to $17 without a drink. The burger was huge, the patties totaled 8oz and there was plenty of sauce, cheese, and veggies packed between an ACE burger bun. I rate it a 7/10. It was super messy to eat (which isn't inherently a bad thing, just a little inconvenient because burgers are greasy and the closest place to wash your hands is inside the neighboring convenience store) and the patties were pretty thick for a smashburger. Flavors didn't blow my mind but still did a good job for the price. I got pretty full off just the burger alone. My overall personal opinion is that this is one of the best food/burger options around as the quality is definitely higher than Miracle Man's or big chain places like A&W etc. therefore people will naturally favor this spot because there aren't very many independent gourmet options within a 30min drive to compare. The location is super convenient as well since there's literally a gas station/rest stop/tobacco shop in the same lot, so if you need a clean bathroom after your meal it's easily accessible. I don't think I'd go out of my way and return for just their burgers, but once they reopen the barn and have a bigger menu with more indigenous items I'd like to give this place another try. Still really glad I experienced this place though. It's nice to get out of the city.
