It wasn't busy(at first) but we still felt rushed. Ordered an app then we ordered entrees. After waiting a bit, he comes back and says there are no pasta dishes in the kitchen. Like wtf, I mean they didn't tell u when u brought the order to the kitchen? But then you bring out the extra side/ house salad that I ordered to go with the pasta. I didn't want it anymore .Fast forward, then this guy brings out the checks while I'm still eating. Like really? And then I was a little offended that he gave us 2 separate checks without asking.Whats funny is that Me and my best friend always try to pay for each other lol, so who told him to do separate checks. Unfortunately this is a one and done place for us. We've been here before a few years before but we decided to give it another try. Fish and chips: crispy outside, doughy inside with barely any fish. Batter is heavy and dense. Nothing light about it at all. Cobb Salad: iceberg lettuce. Dry chicken. And I mean dryyyy. This salad just wasn't appealing. Eggs were mush. I just don't have anything nice to say. Water: yes. This too is bad. They definitely need to invest in a filtration system because water shouldn't have a flavor. This sums it up. I dine here frequently and tonight was a big disappointment. We were a party of 6 at 7pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was about 10% occupied. After attempting to order a Cabernet, the server informed me they are out of every cab tonight. I ordered a Merlot instead. He returned shortly to say they are completely out of all red wine. When it was time to order, my friend attempted to order the Birria dish and was informed they don't have any. Before we got our entrees, there were servers around us putting up chairs at the high tops nearby (nearly 3 hours before closing time). Today, I placed a to-go order and was helped by Meagan. While she wasn't rude, her overall demeanor came across as disinterested and unmotivated. I initially called in my order but was placed on hold for an extended period, eventually prompting me to hang up and call again. When I arrived, my food was not ready on time. In fact, I waited longer than the time it took me to call in and drive to the restaurant. For the $50 I spent, the quality of the food simply did not match the price. It was edible, but far from worth the cost. Sadly, it seems all Dockside locations are in decline, and this one in particular appears to be struggling the most. I've come here regularly for a while now, and I have been extremely happy with every visit. The service is always incredibly nice, especially my server from last time, Nikki, and the hostess in the front named Emily. I also had the pleasure of meeting Chris, a manager who always checked in to make sure everything was to my liking. Overall, I have been treated very well during all of my visits. Came the other night during Bengals vs Chiefs, and left with a filled appetite and an enjoyable experience! My party and I were seated quickly and we had an AMAZING and kind server named Kylee who went above and beyond to make sure we were alright - from getting us extra waters, checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our food, to even telling us about her day. She treated us as if we were family, and it was so comforting and added to the energy that was radiating during the game. I ordered the ten piece boneless wings with tater tots on the side, half mango habanero & half lemon pepper. They're good cubed sizes, and while I thought that the lemon pepper had a bit more rub and were a bit hard to chew through, the mango habanero wings were moist, had a great kick of spice, and were just tasty all around! While we didn't take part in any drinks this time around, next time for sure I'll take advantage of their drinks menu. I'm Queen of Takeout at Dockside and love that I can always call and they know my usual! (Scooter wings, extra wet! - best sauce, ever!) I pair them with some fresh fries and that's a wild night for me! Eased into Monday with some strawberry margaritas at Gator's Dockside and .75 cent wings. They have tons of variety on the menu with a neighborhood feel all within one location. The TVs are BIG, plenty of spread seating, a fully stocked bar that is also BIG. Overall this place always feels open and BIG, and it has a fully stocked bar. Let me start with, they have pretty much an open selection on bar drinks and beer, so we took advantage of the BOGO drink specials. Our waiter recommended the flavored margaritas, so we kept it simple, went the fruity choice. For dinner, I took advantage of the MONDAY SPECIAL: $0.75 Wings and Boneless Wings; a wide variety of sauces for dipping too. A few months ago I ordered takeout from Gator's Dockside. It wasn't remarkable and it wasn't bad--it hit the spot as comfort food and we were perfectly happy with our food. I walked in, paid for my order with my credit card, and left with my credit card. The problem was the next day. I checked my bank statement online and noticed there was an additional charge on my card which was not mine. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a very nice young woman who was helpful who took down all my information and assured me that the manager, who was currently in a meeting, would call me back soon. It took her over two hours but she did call back and something about her tone of voice just didn't seem all that concerned...or maybe it was me. Anyhow, she told me she saw no such charge on their records. Really? Because I see it clear as day on my account. The customer service rep at my bank easily found it and the fraud unit could see it as well. (Fortunately I saved my receipt!) Did she think I would just say "Oh,ok" and drop the matter? How come she couldn't find any record of it? Well, the obvious answer is that she didn't trouble herself very hard to look for it and quite frankly I think that stinks. I don't think she would have appreciated such a cavalier attitude if the shoe were on the other foot but I digress. Of course I canceled my card. Not only was I disturbed that by somehow walking into the restaurant and handing them my card for thirty seconds my card was compromised, I was also very troubled that a manager couldn't be bothered to actually look into a fraudulent transaction and at the very least acknowledge it or go back and research it further and follow up. I don't really like writing bad reviews but in this case I wasn't treated decently and I don't think I want to go back because I don't need my bank account compromised again. This was the first time I used the Yelp/Grun Hub app to pick up some food. It was easy and fast with no hang-ups! I knew where to pick up my food and when it would be ready. I even got a chance to Uber around and give a few rides while I waited. I walked up to their outdoor tent, told them my name, thanked them, and took my gyro sandwich with fries to a place where I could start munching. The wings were tiny and perhaps I chose the wrong flavors but the sweet Thai chili tasted like some generic sauce out of a bottle at the grocery store and I could barley taste any flavor on the Caribbean jerk. I also had an order of the hand-breaded, deep fried gator tail. That was very tasty and the zesty "gator sauce" gave a kick. I would happily give zero stars but it will not allow. Host refused to seat my husbands service dog inside. When he tried to explain, the host said "ALL dogs sit outside". This restaurant needs to school their staff what the meaning of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regarding service animals. ADA is a civil rights law that is regulated and enforced by the U.S. Department of Justice that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. This includes RESTAURANTS! An added bonus- All 3 women's bathroom stall doors were broken and would not close or lock, 2 soap dispensers falling off the wall were empty as well. I've been craving a salad with candied pecans and mandarin oranges so I was excited to see they had this on the menu. My husband ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta with Alfredo. Service to get our beers and food took a long time. Our server attributed this to a large party at another table. It's a huge place so I fear service might be terrible if the place is packed. Food wise, I asked for warmed grilled chicken but it arrived cold. Aside from that the salad was delicious and their raspberry vinaigrette is very good. My husband's plate came out with chicken instead of shrimp so we sent that back. They insisted on making an entire fresh dish so we had to wait about 15 minutes for his meal. The shrimp Alfredo was delicious although the sauce was very thick and pasty. They should consider thinning it out just a little bit. Fun easy going sports bar. Don't expect anything fancy because you aren't going to find it here. Saturday after a home game we were told it was going to be a 2-hour wait so we left our cell number and sat around trying to figure out where else to go. Lucky for us 32 minutes into our wait they called to tell us they had a table. We were seated quickly and the server came right over. So many TV's so you could watch just about any sporting event that was going on and it was loud in there (but its a sports bar). 2-for-1 beers were cold and our server did a great job of keeping up with them. Our server also adjusted the nachos based on our dietary needs and added pulled pork which was delicious (at no added charge). We also ordered the wingers, teriyaki wings and fried mushrooms. All were good and just what you expect from a sports bar. Next time we are in town and want to watch other sports on large Tv's we will defiately remember Gator's as the place to go. read more
