Holy vegan meat! This was the most food, best priced option I found in my week in Mexico City. In a city focused on carne this place left me feeling included tin the 'meat' culture, full and satisfied. It really is big if you order everything which I strongly recommend. Flavors were awesome and the salsa options were good too. It's a little stand on the corner cheffed up by two amazing friendly women (at least when I was there). Great spot!

cute vegan food truck with sooo many options! i was def overwhelmed but ended up getting a chorizo torta and omg it was HUGE! so yum but def enough for 2 meals. the women are super nice and helpful (asked for recommendations). there's no seating area but you can stand and eat by the truck to take it to go! they do take card! no wifi but the city wifi works decently. i wish i was here longer to try more things :(

Si estas en la CDMX (no me importa si eres vegano o no), tienes que comer aqui! No te vas a arrepentir.

Stopped by here while running around Roma Norte for a quick dinner - really wonderful and helpful staff and fantastic food! I tried a couple of different tacos not wanting to struggle through understanding the menu. The el pastor are a must and definitely a stand out. The bistec were good too but not quite as. I would definitely recommend swinging by here if you're in the area and interested in some yummy vegan food.

Was only able to check this food truck out once while in CDMX. There was a bit of a crowd, but I can't complain about vegan food being popular. Delicious torta cubana! The soy meat is flavorful and with excellent texture. My friend got the milanesa, which she enjoyed. I had a bite of hers and wish I could have eaten a whole other one but they're filling! I also had a cute little donut for dessert. Will certainly return to this spot in the future.

Wonderful vegetarian/vegan option for those seeking to try out those famous Mexican street Tortas and Tacos. Friendly hardworking crew who clearly love serving their customers and care about delivering quality food. They also have non-alcoholic drinks and dessert options. Affordable, delicious, generous portion sizes - a winning combo! I wish there were more vendors like Gatorta around Mexico City!

The best vegan food we had in Mexico city. We ordered two tortas de pastor, and 4 tacos of mixed protein choices. It was so filling

Woooooow. I can't begin to describe how happy i was to find an all vegan taco stand in Mexico City. They have everything from vegan horchata to al pastor to cupcakes. Wish I could find one of these street vendors in SoCal. Getting there can be a b*tch as its in the heart of Roma district in mexico city. Took us 40 mins from the airport but totally worth the bumper to bumper traffic. Can't wait to go back for more

The vegan taco scene in Mexico City is really stepping up (as I have read in many blogs) and a visit to Gatorta is a proof of that. Por Siempre - another vegan taco spot is pretty popular, however, not many have heard about Gatorta. We probably would have never gone to Gatorta if it wasn't right next to our hotel and I'm so glad that we did since not visiting this spot would have been a real miss for us. We wanted to get the al Pastor tacos but we went pretty late in the day so they were already out of it. We instead got the Salchica and Chorizo tacos both of which were very very good! I also ate my first ever hot dog here since they had a vegan version of it - it was really yummy too! If you are in Mexico City I would suggest going out of your way to eat here since it's probably the best tacos you will have!

Delicious tortas. Came for lunch and it was a popular spot. I got a torta with the vegan pastor meat and avocado, and then went back for a little baked good dessert because their dessert display was irresistible. Nice, quick service. Easy to find, just look for the cat logo :)

If you're vegan, in Mexico City, and don't eat here, you should have just stayed home.

Okay. AMAZING. We…read morecame on a Tuesday around 9:30 pm and luckily there was no line. There's no menu and no real sign, so we double-checked it was the right place by asking someone who was already eating . The team didn't speak English, so we basically got whatever they decided to make for us. I was hoping for chicken anyway, so it worked out, but my friend and I originally planned to share and try two different proteins. I DEVOURED the chicken torta chilaquiles sandwich. It did start to get a little tough towards finish towards the end, but I powered through because it was such a flavor bomb. No way I was leaving that behind. I was expecting the chilaquiles to be crunchy, and they weren't- but they also weren't soggy in a gross way. The texture actually worked in the sandwich, and the flavor was so good. And THE CREMA. So rich. So yum. Big fan. It filled me up for the entire day. Zero regrets.

What's to hate about chips, beans, cheese, onions, a lightly breaded chicken cutlet and your choice of salsa? It's chilaquiles in a bolillo! The only thing that I would have preferred is for the chips to be less soggy and more crunchy to get more contrast in texture (but that's just me, not trying to change their method and system, just a heads up to the user). If you need to fill up for a long day of walking around town, this carb bomb will keep you satisfied. Don't be deterred by the long lines, the employees work super fast to get you on your way. Cash only!

Basket tacos are steamed corn tortilla tacos with simple fillings kept warm and served from a basket. These simple creations serve as quick, cheap and easy lunch options for the day workers. Their simplicity is what makes them so incredible; pure comfort food. We ordered a chicharron and papas taco. It was seriously like 10-15 MXN per taco. Gobbled these up with its ultra tender contents. They have a ton of toppings on the side and even a much revered green sauce to add all the flavors. Otherwise, on their own, they are still quite yummy. Eat standing up and pay when you are done, the honor system in full play here. It definitely beat searching down a sit down restaurant or eating at one of the touristy eateries within the Coyoacan Market.

The difficult thing about the tacos de canasta is that they "move" and they are usually not in just "one place", so we were happy to find two guys which sell them every day at the same spot! They are conveniently located two blocks from Frida and Diego's house in Coyoacan and in front of a bodega. We tried their chicharron and bean tacos, and they were delicious! Their salsa verde was the BOMB! Tacos de canasta are very cheap and a few pesos can take you a long way. Please don't try to pay with large bills or credit cards. You pay after you finish eating, because you can always order more after eating a couple of tacos. PS: This location is not the one from the show, but I am using it as a reference so y'all know which type of tacos I am talking about.

What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!

We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!
