I was explaining to her that I box dyed my hair for the first time the week prior so I was looking for something a little bit darker and more permanent. She showed me a really good product, and I was confident in what she was telling me, but when I got home and started to apply the product on my hair, I noticed that there was nothing to mix the hair dye with. So thinking that she didn't tell me anything I thought that maybe it had been able to use but I didn't know you are supposed to buy activator for the hair dye so I quickly washed it off after only applying it for five minutes. I was very upset because I wasted a $10 bottle for nothing. Not until I did some research I found out that it can damage your hair if you put only the dye it's self on your hair. I was super upset, went back the next day and she was there, I asked for a slight discount for another bottle because I pretty much had to waste it. The manager denied me any discount due to their worker not informing me. i've never permanently dyed my hair before, and when I told her that she forgot to tell me her response was "oh it just slipped my mind". What if that were to really mess up my hair? I would have been a mess. Really disappointed. If you go here make sure that you have everything you need and maybe even get a second option from another worker there...

I absolutely LOVE my stylist Robbie. When I first called to make an appt. and was given one with Robbie, I didn't think much about it at first but then for some odd reason I thought, hmmmm, I wonder if this is a man. I called back and they said yes it was and asked if I preferred a woman. I said yes, so they scheduled me with someone else who unfortunately became ill on the day of my appointment so I ended up with Robbie anyway. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy that happened because I receive compliments every single day no matter where I am. He has done amazing things with my hair and does NOT let it get fried like experiences I have had with previous salons. This salon always has the latest and greatest and I appreciate that. It's always fun to go in and see what's new and to try new things. I've been to other salons in the past that never changed up anything, including the styles they did. People would have 20 yr. old hairstyles and would be happy with that. Or, I've known of women who are not happy but too afraid to hurt their stylist's feelings and say anything so they continue to keep going and stay unhappy. I always appreciate Robbie's opinion even if I don't like it at the moment, he has saved me from making some horrible decisions and has kept my hair in great condition. I will never go anywhere else. Their hours are convenient and I like how they work well as a team. If someone becomes ill, there is always another stylist willing to step in and help out so that I don't have to miss my appt. We all know how terrible it is to need our hair done and we don't like to have to wait. I would recommend and I have, Gavora to all my friends and family and anyone who may have had a bad experience somewhere else, to give Gavora a try. You will not regret it. read more

I've lived in Manteca all my life, so i know everyone and everything that is here. And I'm not afraid to say that Gavora Studio is the best place to get a hair cut, color, or even purchase some product. I was referred to the salon by a friend who gets her hair cut by Vadre. I made an appointment immediately after I had gotten my hair cut and colored by another salon in the area, and was not happy with the turnout at all. Not only did Vadre fix my hair from before, but she was also polite, sweet, and stopped at nothing to make sure that I was content with how my hair turned out. My experience at Gavora Studio was nothing like a review written by "Lynn R." above. All of the staff were polite and catered to all of my needs, and were extremely kind to me. My color turned out perfectly, and I was glad for the advice Vadre offered me. I love the atmosphere at Gavora, also. Not only is it trendy and chic, but it is warm and welcoming, something that you don't see in every salon. The pricing may be expensive to some, but it correctly fits the quality of the service you are having performed. I had passed by gavora for years on my way to work, and had always heard great things about there stylists. I was really wanting to do something new with my hair, but was afraid to step out of the " box ". Let's face it finding that perfect hair dresser is hard, and once we find one we usually stay with them forever, but I just wasn't happy with the hairdresser I had, so i decided to call and make an appt. I told them what I was looking for and they made me an a ppt with Connie. This is by far one of the best phone calls I ever made, and Connie is now my hairdresser for life. I told her what I was looking for, some highlights a new style, but nothing to crazy. I loved it, I received so many compliments at work the next day, i felt so good and confident. I have been going to Connie for a few years now, and I basically trust this woman so much, I let her choose the colors, and styles to do on my hair..recently we did the brazillan blowout...that is the BEST. I had an awful hair accident a few years back and lived in Stockton and had heard great things about this salon so decided to go there. I don't for the life of me remember the name of the stylist, but she was AWESOME! She ended up having to strip my hair, dye it a base color and then highlight it. It ended up taking several hours to fix it completely and she was such a good sport about the whole thing and knew exactly what color I wanted when I explained it to her. I loved my hair this period of time and would go back to her if I lived closer and remembered her name!!! A little pricey, $170, but for everything she did to my hair I expected that. To fault of her own I started going to Gavora in support of my daughter who was interning there under Gina and Vadre. Unfortunately, Jennapher has moved on but I have stayed with Gavora seeing Vadre. I love the fact that she is diverse in her skills and ready at any time for the curve ball I will throw her regarding hair color. I live in Turlock and heard about Gavora Studio from a friend of a friend with whom I trust! When making my appointment with Vadre she was very accommodating around my busy schedule. I arrived to the studio early and Vadre was ready for me. She was very patient with me as I didn't really know what I wanted. She also let me know what colors would last and not last in my hair. Vadre also squeezed me in to do a touch up on a color that I picked and didn't last as long as I thought it would. I drive from Stockton to Manteca to get my hair done by one of the best in the Biz-Vadre. I have never had a bad experience in the 2yrs Ive been going to Vadre. She is up to date on the current trends, friendly, and always on time. I always feel like Ive just been taken care of by a Glam Squad when I leave the salon. Someone always greets me @ the door and the staff is friendly. I also appreciate that the assistants always seem to be able to tell if I want to chat during shampoos and styling of if I just prefer to enjoy the experience. I have been going to Sara at Gavora for over 5 years. I get nothing but the best service and hair treatment. The salon is very quaint in their new location and they have some of the best stylists around. I moved out of the area two years ago and still only get my hair done by Sara when I'm in town. She always makes room for me in her schedule and every time I get my hair done I get nothing but compliments. I recently got married and Sara was my stylist. I have been going to Gavora for about 7 years now. I have never received better care anywhere else - ever!!! Everytime I go to get my hair done, I am happier than the last time! Recently, I colored my own gray and it turned out way too dark. I asked Vadre if she could fix it ASAP, but she was leaving on a business trip. She asked if I'd let Rob do it. I have been going to Gavora to have my hair cut by Alisa for almost 10 years. I have donated over 12 inches of hair to locks of love twice and would never trust anyone else to chop off that much of my hair. I love her because she does a great job whether I ask for something specific or if I just give her free reign. I'm always a happy customer. She costs a little more than chain salons, but that is expected because she is worth it. I do not understand how some other reviewers have had such bad experiences at Gavora. read more

I go here because a good friend of mine does hair here, Tara, she's great and I advise if you're going to support this place only see her because I went in today and Sara and Vadre the other hair stylists were being racist and so was another client agreeing that Black Lives Matter is nothing but riots and looting and that the racist statues that were taken down should have stayed up because it's part of history. My husband and I have been customers for many years and have never had anything less than excellent service. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you want color done, Vadre is the best. Other hairdressers in the area will refer clients who have had bad coloring jobs done for her to correct. The prices are comparable to a high end salon. The quality is excellent. Was able to get in with Robbie last minute. Not only did he do a great job he was very professional while my hair was processing he handed me up to date magazines and asked if I would like anything to drink.
