My under the chin area looks significantly worse and cannot be fixed.
    Kim S.

I had a face and neck lift a year ago with Dr. Gawley. The result is that my face looks worse than when I started and I can't hold my head in certain positions without choking. A picture is worth a thousand words, so check out the numbered issues, and corresponding images. This issues are numbered and in no particular order of importance since they are all equally as serious as the other : 1. First, my right ear is now 3/4" lower than the left ear, protruding like an elf's ear and twisted clockwise one quarter turn(mirror image below) giving me what is called a "pixie ear". It was where it belonged until the surgery, yet Dr. Gawley is in denial. Beware of this possibility, which is worsened by the fact that Gawley refuses to acknowledge his obvious blunder. Adding insult to injury it's only getting worse. There is a constant pulling below my right ear which, with time, will only stretch the earlobe adding to the pixie look. 2. The skin under my chin, which was THE main reason for getting a lift, is hanging way worse than it was before. Not only is it now noticeable from the front of my face, my profile is irreparably worse. (see images!). With the hanging skin and my pixie ear I feel uncomfortable putting my hair back which was my favorite way to wear it. :( Sidebar: And do you know what his partner suggested I do? Use a neck cream that they sell! (Which I incidentally had been using already for years.) Since then Gawley has admitted that there is nothing he can do to improve it (as if I'd let him touch my face again!). 3. Has irretrievably changed he shape of my face. There are different techniques when doing a SMAS facelift (SMAS means that instead of just pulling the skin, this technique addresses the actual sagging of the muscle or root cause of lower face sagging.) One is called "plication" where they fold the muscle over and pin it back and up to more correctly pull the face up. The other is a "smasectomy" where, instead of folding the muscle over as with plication, they cut the extra chunk out of the middle and then sew the halves back together (also referred to as resectioning). I requested the latter since, unlike older patients who may appreciate the extra fullness a plication brings, I coveted the hollow under my cheekbone. (I HATE a full face on me and it took until my 50's to finally have the hollow I want.) But Dr. Gawley got all frazzled and condescendingly said that he wouldn't discuss his techniques with me since I "wouldn't understand" and not to worry, that it will look great. I must have been on crack or something to still have gone through with it. I was just way too excited and had already made my decision so I went against my instinct and am regretting it sorely. 4. This one is nuts: My right masseter, or jaw muscle, was relocated to the center of my cheek on the right side. When I clench my jaw my cheek gets full in a strange way which at best is ugly and at worse is unnatural and definitely NOT an improvement over what it was. So, on top of the folded over SMAS muscle mass, which I specifically and frequently said I did not want, the masseter in my cheek has permanently changed the shape of my face to exactly what I didn't want. (look at before and after!) And since I grind my teeth the muscle gets stronger and bigger adding to that puffiness. It's been suggested that I use botox to shrink it a little and possibly get a tiny bit of the hollow that I used to have in spades and repeatedly said I didn't want to lose. A noteworthy aside is that one of the plastic surgeons I saw to fix it, is dying to go in to see exactly what the hell he did in there, like a case study. 5. My neck looks better but now I can't lay down and bend my neck in certain ways without choking. It feels as if someone was squeezing their hands around my neck but also, as if something is caught in my throat causing a gag reflex. This happens when I look down at my phone, look down at my desktop. or sleep in the wrong position. I literally wake up choking. Actually, right now looking down at my computer I just had a choking fit and had to lift my head to swallow! SO not only has he ruined my face he has also messed with my health. Do not use Dr. Gawley. Read all of the one star reviews. This is far from an isolated incident. You will also see that there are more one and two star ratings most recently. Even though he keeps on practicing, he isn't getting any better. Of course with every bad review he writes a good one but still, if I helped save just one person from the plight that is Bryan Gawley the time spent writing this review is worth it.

It's at least a 20 minute call and they don't want to give you that appt unless you are committed to a surgery date. I had to leave a message for a return call from a coordinator who never called me back. I followed up 3 days later to be told after 20 minutes of questions (why I wanted the surgery (reverse tummy tuck), what events occurred up to this point to lead me to need one, what surgeries I've had in the past (many foot surgeries and breast augs), when I wanted this procedure done, how much I weigh and how tall I am... to if I smoke or drink and how much. I told her I work out everyday and that I'm 5-7 and 115 pounds. She asked me what medications I take which led into the fact that I have Lupus which then I was told they were uncomfortable doing the surgery unless it was in a hospital. I told her I've never had a problem and she said they really weren't interested in doing the surgery or consult. All I wanted was an opinion on what could be done for me since I wasn't wanting a typical tummy tuck and after all that questioning was told "no thanks" . lol ok then

Her work was phenomenal and I wanted the same type of results and him and his team delivered exactly that. The consultation was done over the phone where Dr. Corey talked about my preferences and he discussed what he think might be best for me based on the information I gave him. I was very open minded with what I wanted and I made sure to mention the most important things to me; upper pole fullness and closing my cleavage was my top priority and I was flexible in the sizing in order for those two priorities to be fulfilled. He recognized off the bat from the photos I sent that I had some unevenness between the girlies and made sure to even them out during the final sizing. He was on point with the final sizing and profile. Throughout the call he was extremely EASY to talk to; literally felt like speaking to a friend. Never once did I feel like the choice wasn't my own nor did I ever feel like he was trying to steer me away from my choices. Many of my friends had experiences where other doctors were trying to convince them a different profile or a bigger/smaller size (a big reason why i didn't go to other well known doctors in philadelphia and went all the way here instead). Surgery is a very high commitment and it can be uncomfortable when your doctor doesn't really respect what you want, but this WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL WITH HIM! He was super informative, very respectful, and even funny lol. Despite coming from such a long way, the process was very smooth and they communicated with me how to estimate which sizes I would like best through a process called the "rice test". Even though I was weary at first, i can say the rice test is pretty accurate now that I am post op! It helped me picked the perfect size that wasn't too big for me but still noticeable. He is amazing and well versed at his job because he was able to suggest a couple sizes for me that I probably never would have picked myself, but it ended up being exactly what I wanted after i tried those sizes during the rice test. He considered my rib cage width, my goals and was realistic. I was weary about sizing and profile types bc I didn't want to look like the letter "P" and he did amazing at suggesting the size and profile. We quickly agreed on medium and 405cc L/445cc R to balance out my unevenness. His team was very communicative and even accommodated my request for an earlier surgery date when unexpected circumstances came up and I could no longer do my original surgery date. This team made me feel so comfortable and reassured me very thoroughly, even after I expressed that I was quite nervous as I have never had a procedure done before. I was literally a mess the night before because i was so nervous but looking back it feels soooo silly bc they took care of me so flawlessly. I literally came into the surgery center scared as heck but woke up painlessly with beautiful boobies LOL. The nurses, the anesthesiologist, the doctor, everyone was so friendly and made me feel more at ease before we got started. Even the recovery process wasn't too bad, Dr. Corey outlined what to expect for the next week and he was spot on. I followed his instructions and so far have no complications a week later (but I am a post op nurse, so I may be a little more familiar with post op care than others). Make sure to follow post op care instructions his team provides in order to prevent complications and unwanted results! Once again, Dr. John J Corey is extremely comfortable to speak to and I had an AMAZING experience. I got a bilateral Transaxillary breast augmentation and i love it to much! The armpit approach gave me no visible scars and anyone I've shown so far has been super impressed! My friends have gotten it under the breast and sometimes the scarring can be dark for women of color (I am asian) so I really appreciate that he recommended this approach to me. Ask more about this approach and whether if it's a good fit for you because it is amazing. The aftercare for this site is less tedious too! I cannot recommend this doctor and his team enough! Thank you so much for giving me confidence and being so welcoming :) I cannot wait to see my final results within the next couple months and hope to be in AZ again one day to show you my results in person. Good luck with every future patient!

I have always been diligent about annual screenings & for more than 20 years, had never received a suspicious result. However, because I live with Myasthenia Gravis, a rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease that makes me a lifelong neurology patient with monthly in-home nursing care, my situation was far more complex than most. Thankfully, catching it early gave us options, but the overwhelming & unanimous recommendation was still a double mastectomy, as my body likely would not have tolerated chemotherapy or radiation if the disease had progressed. What should have been a time met with compassion and guidance quickly became exhausting and discouraging. My family was terrified, and navigating this unfamiliar territory felt impossible. My husband lovingly stood beside me through every oncology appointment reminding me I was beautiful no matter what, while my sister and sister-in-law accompanied me to countless plastic surgery consultations. After seeing five different surgeons across Arizona, each consultation costing hundreds of dollars, I left feeling more defeated each time. Many did not understand my disease, the complexity of needing inpatient surgery at my neuro hospital, or even what mattered most to me emotionally and aesthetically as a woman facing this journey. Then came Dr. Pablo Prichard... TRULY a Godsend in my life. From the moment I met him, everything changed. He spent THREE HOURS with me during my consultation. Three hours listening, educating, reassuring, and most importantly understanding not just my diagnosis, but ME. He understood Myasthenia Gravis. He understood the medical coordination required with my neurologists and hospital team. He was willing to collaborate with anyone necessary to make sure I was safe and cared for properly. The compassion, patience, humility, and bedside manner of Dr. Prichard and his entire office team are almost impossible to put into words. In a world where healthcare can often feel rushed, transactional and impersonal, this experience felt like guardian angels had been placed in my path. Based on his expertise, we proceeded with a two-part surgery (each surgery was 6 hours) involving a nipple-sparing double mastectomy with dermal matrix reconstruction. After seeing so many frightening outcomes and photos beforehand from other doctor's reconstructions, I had dreaded what my future would look like physically. The work Dr. Prichard performed is nothing short of perfection. His artistry, precision, and care gave me results I truly never imagined possible. More importantly, he gave me confidence, peace, and hope during one of the hardest seasons of my life. There is a reason Dr. Pablo Prichard has the reputation and following he does. Including his recognition from his Peacock/NBC television show "Forever Young" which is a MUST WATCH! What amazed me most is how incredibly humble and genuine he remains despite all of it. You would never know the level of recognition he has by the way he treats his patients like each of us are his only patient! I can never fully express the gratitude my family and I have for Dr. Prichard and his phenomenal team. They did not just take care of me surgically, they cared for me emotionally, personally, and wholeheartedly. If you are looking for a surgeon with unmatched skill, compassion, brilliance, and humanity, I truly cannot recommend Dr. Pablo Prichard enough. He changed my life forever, and I will remain grateful for him for the rest of my life.

I was initially told by her that it must be allergies to the permanent sutures, so I underwent revision surgery with her. She then diagnosed the nodules as "fat necrosis". Soon after revision surgery, the nodules started appearing again. I was then repeatedly told by Michelle that it must be thyroid-related causes. After seeking another revision from a highly experienced double board-certified plastic surgeon & ENT down the street, I was informed that the nodules were full of pus and bacteria, located on/around the permanent sutures. I was also told that the nodule that was distanced lower than the rest, had a free-hanging suture that wasn't attached to anything. I was advised that what he found was consistent with infection related to the permanent internal sutures Michelle placed in me and could likely be due to the sutures being unsterile/compromised during surgery. This was an extremely painful and distressing experience that significantly impacted my quality of life for OVER a year. When I reached out to her office regarding this, I was met with denial, zero accountability and was warned multiple times in a threatening manner not to post about it online. I strongly encourage anyone considering cosmetic surgery to thoroughly research their provider and ensure they are board-certified in plastic surgery. Unfortunately, a cosmetic surgeon with a doctorates degree in dentistry is a very considerable, and concerning difference.
