Since they were cooked and served whole, all manner of fish guts spilled out and I just tried really hard to think that I was getting my Omega 3's while scooping up the fish bits. The richness/oiliness/flavor of the dish was quite intense, and I really had to try to make it through three of the four sardines. Luckily, the half-bottle of vinho verde I ordered made it easier to wash down the fishes. I chose this restaurant because when I passed by I could see chickens roasting in one window, and a group dining robustly with mountains of plates of fishbones.
