We had been shopping around for carpet for a week or so, having been everywhere in the Reno/Sparks area twice. I walked into GCO to be greeted by Starla and told her I was just looking. She backed off and when I went to her with what I had in mind, she showed me exactly what I was looking for and had not found yet. They brought the price down to where we were comfortable and we purchased it. We did not want the carpet in for 2 weeks due to some other renovations we were doing and they were happy to hold it for us. There are so many carpeting choices here - rolls of carpeting in stock as well as special order. Amazing customer service. In one day, installers were here to measure (we're in Truckee, the store is in Reno), and we were scheduled for our installation within a week. I can't say enough good things about GCO and Stacy. She is knowledgeable and dedicated. She didn't try to push any particular carpet on us. Instead, she listened to our needs and gave us several options. As my husband and I tried to get information from several stores, we quickly found that other carpet stores had sales people who were pushy, apathetic or worse, completely clueless. It was a breath of fresh air to talk to Stacy. She was with us every step of the way. She always responded immediately to any our questions/concerns. We were so impressed that we decided to change out our kitchen and bathroom floors at the same time. The carpet in my mother's house needed to be replaced. We found a carpet mom liked at GCO and made arrangements for removal and installation. Then my sister said that our Dad had told her there were hardwood floors under the carpet. We started to tear it up and lo and behold oak flooring that had been covered by one carpet after another for probably 50 years. I purchased carpeting from GCO. Approximately after 9 months, the carpet bubbled up in several places. Their installer, Chris, came and looked at it and found it needed to be stretched, which they took care of without any question or additional cost. Approximately a year later, it was a problem again. Although I am hardly home and seeing the problem was much worse than previously had occurred, I was not sure of who to call to fix the issue. Thinking that too much time had gone by for GCO to take responsibility, I called them to see if they might fix it or could refer me to someone that would be able to help. They had mentioned that there were several who had had this issue with this brand of carpeting. Chris came again, acknowledged the problem and stated, regardless of how much time had passed, they would fix it again, and if I were to have any other problems to call and they would replace all the carpeting with something else. I appreciate the exceptional customer service, professionalism, and that they stand by their product! They are a locally owned company, which I like to support local, family owned business, and would highly recommend them to anyone considering purchasing carpeting! read more
